Last Updated on: 14th July 2021, 03:26 am

The Genshin Impact 2.0 update is right around the corner. For some reason, miHoYo chose to skip updates 1.7-1.9 and instead went for 2.0.

This update is set to add new characters, weapons, areas to explore, boss fights and much more.

Here is everything you need to know about the Genshin Impact 2.0 update.

Release Date

The Genshin Impact 2.0 update is set to go live on Wednesday, July 21st. Players will be able to pre-load the update from Monday, July 19th, which will be incredibly handy for players with slower internet connections so they can install the update ahead of time so they can jump back into the game immediately after downtime ends.

Downtime

Downtime for the update is set to begin on Tuesday, July 20th at 6 pm EST/11 pm BST and typically lasts no longer than five hours.

miHoYo will reward all players with 300 Primogems, 60 per hour, for the inconvenience.

PlayStation Cross-Save

It has been announced that PlayStation 4 and 5 players will finally be able to cross-save between PC and mobile platforms. At present, if you play the game on PlayStation you can’t continue your adventure on PC or mobile, with your account and data tied to Sony’s platform.

This is very similar to what we saw with games such as Fortnite where PS4 players were unable to use their account on the Xbox One or Nintendo Switch.

Slowly but surely Sony is coming round to cross-platform and cross-progression so this is a fantastic first step as it will allow players to play Genshin Impact across all devices.
