ESO Flight of the Albatross is the main meta achievement for the High Seas of Tamriel event, requiring players to complete eight achievements covering ship battles, underwater exploration, boss encounters and repeated daily quests. Finishing the entire checklist awards 50 achievement points and Arcing Ornaug Energy, one of the three fragments needed to unlock the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount.
Most of the requirements can be completed while playing through Bounty of the Abecean Sea, but simply finishing the daily quest five times won’t necessarily complete everything. You’ll also need to fire catapults, repair damage to the Riotous Redress, defeat boarding enemies and explore six underwater areas. Here’s the full ESO Flight of the Albatross checklist, including the requirements that are easily missed during a normal voyage.

There are eight achievements required to complete ESO Flight of the Albatross:
| Achievement | Requirement |
|---|---|
| I Bid You Adieu! | Complete Raising the Riotous Redress |
| Treasure Hunter on the High Seas | Complete Bounty of the Abecean Sea five times |
| A Baron-Captain’s Victory | Win a ship battle by outlasting or sinking an attacking vessel |
| Baron-Captain on Deck | Fire a catapult 10 times and repair 10 hull breaches |
| Ending the Louse-Whisperers | Kill 10 Louse-Whisperer Champions during ship battles |
| The Xirkn-Zel Diving Chamber | Survive a ship battle and use the diving chamber |
| Abecean Undersea Explorer | Explore and clear six named underwater areas |
| Eyes in the Dark | Defeat Lucky Gretch and Bright Bazzle, and Krelzimar |
The requirements cover both halves of the High Seas daily activity. Some unlock through normal quest completion, while others need specific interactions that can easily be missed when other players are handling the ship’s weapons or repairs.
I Bid You Adieu! and Treasure Hunter on the High Seas
The first achievement, I Bid You Adieu!, is earned by completing Raising the Riotous Redress, the introductory High Seas quest.
You can begin through the Quest Starters section of the Crown Store or by speaking to Baron-Captain Olsien Guy Mard on the Gold Coast near Anvil. Completing the quest restores the Riotous Redress and unlocks the repeatable Bounty of the Abecean Sea daily.
Treasure Hunter on the High Seas requires five completed Bounty of the Abecean Sea daily quests. Each voyage takes you through a ship battle, the Dwemer diving chamber and underwater encounters before returning with treasure.
These five completions also give you opportunities to work on the remaining achievements, so it’s worth participating in the optional ship actions and underwater exploration during each run.
A Baron-Captain’s Victory: How to Win the Ship Battle
A Baron-Captain’s Victory is awarded for successfully overcoming an attacking ship during High Seas of Tamriel.
The achievement description identifies two possible victories: outlasting the attacking ship until it withdraws or sinking it using the Riotous Redress’s catapults.
During the encounter, Louse-Whisperer enemies board the deck while the ship takes damage. You can concentrate on keeping the Riotous Redress afloat by dealing with boarders and repairing breaches, or fire the catapults when the enemy vessel is within range.
Sinking the attacking ship awards two Abecean Spoils of War chests, while successfully outlasting it awards one.
The achievement database also displays separate entries for Outlast the Attacking Ship and Sink the Attacking Ship. Although the description uses “or”, the displayed tracker contains both outcomes. If the achievement remains incomplete after a successful battle, check which entries have registered and attempt the other victory method on a later voyage.
Baron-Captain on Deck: Catapult Shots and Repairs
Baron-Captain on Deck requires two specific actions aboard the Riotous Redress:
- Fire a catapult 10 times.
- Repair hull breaches 10 times.
Catapults become available during the ship encounter when the attacking vessel moves into range. A usable catapult glows yellow and displays the Fire interaction prompt.
Hull breaches appear on the ship’s deck as glowing areas of damage. Approach one and use the Repair interaction to contribute towards the second requirement.
Both actions are needed for this achievement. If you’ve completed several voyages but rarely touched the catapults or repaired the ship yourself, this may explain why Baron-Captain on Deck remains unfinished.
Completing the achievement also awards the Baron-Captain character title.

Ending the Louse-Whisperers: Kill 10 Champions
Ending the Louse-Whisperers requires killing 10 Louse-Whisperer Champions while fighting aboard the Riotous Redress.
These Champions appear among the enemy boarders during the ship battle. They are separate from the ordinary enemies attacking the crew, so killing regular boarders alone won’t necessarily complete the achievement.
During each voyage, watch for Champions joining the fight and participate in defeating them. You can continue building towards the total across repeated battles rather than needing all 10 kills in a single encounter.
If you’re playing with other people, it’s worth keeping an eye on the achievement tracker to confirm your Champion kills are being counted.
The Xirkn-Zel Diving Chamber Achievement
The Xirkn-Zel Diving Chamber is earned by surviving the shipboard battle and using the Dwemer diving chamber to reach the sea floor.
After successfully dealing with the attacking ship, the voyage continues into the underwater part of the event. The diving chamber aboard the Riotous Redress transports you into the Abecean Depths inside a protective bubble.
This achievement should progress during a completed voyage, provided you continue beyond the naval battle and use the chamber.
Once underwater, you’ll encounter environmental hazards, harpoon interactions and creatures that can damage your protective bubble. Glowing green clams allow you to restore it while exploring.
Abecean Undersea Explorer: All Six Areas
Abecean Undersea Explorer is one of the more involved ESO Flight of the Albatross requirements because it tracks six specific locations in the underwater region.
The achievement database lists:
- Coral Forest
- Leviathan Gullet
- Ornaug Lair
- Haj Mota Hunting Grounds
- Wreck of the Sea Demon
- Reef Shark Run
One published walkthrough uses the name Slaughterfish Trench for the sixth achievement entry, while its route map labels the relevant underwater passage Reef Shark Run. Use the names shown in your in-game achievement tracker when checking completion.
The underwater route includes different areas connected by caves and passages. Coral Forest and the Ornaug area are encountered earlier in the journey, while Leviathan Gullet contains vents that can be closed by harpooning the marked stalactites above them.
Haj Mota Hunting Grounds leads through the cave containing the Bright Bazzle encounter. Further into the depths, the route divides around the Wreck of the Sea Demon and Reef Shark Run before continuing towards Krelzimar.
Reef Shark Run contains dangerous shark attacks that can destroy your protective bubble. Moving into the glowing green clams provides protection while you navigate the area.
If Abecean Undersea Explorer remains incomplete after finishing the daily, open the achievement and identify the missing location. The two paths through the later underwater section are particularly worth checking if you’ve been following the same route on every voyage.
Eyes in the Dark: All Required Bosses
Eyes in the Dark requires defeating the named underwater bosses encountered during High Seas of Tamriel.
There are two tracked boss objectives:
- Lucky Gretch and Bright Bazzle
- Krelzimar the Pelagic Trauma
Lucky Gretch and Bright Bazzle are Haj Mota bosses encountered during the underwater route. The fight involves protective barriers and environmental mechanics, including hydrothermal vents that can be exposed using your harpoon.
Krelzimar is encountered later in the depths. His fight includes immunity phases and large environmental attacks, with an upward-launching geyser providing a way to avoid his dangerous area attack.
Both boss objectives must register for Eyes in the Dark to be completed.
These encounters are also relevant to players collecting the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount, because undersea bosses are associated with the Captured Systres Zephr fragment.
ESO Flight of the Albatross Rewards: Arcing Ornaug Energy
Completing all eight ESO Flight of the Albatross requirements awards 50 achievement points and Arcing Ornaug Energy.
Arcing Ornaug Energy is one of three fragments required to unlock the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount.
| Mount fragment | How to obtain it |
|---|---|
| Arcing Ornaug Energy | Complete Flight of the Albatross |
| Galen Seawater | Deep Plunder Boxes |
| Captured Systres Zephr | Undersea boss rewards |
Arcing Ornaug Energy is tied to achievement completion rather than a random reward drop. The other two fragments are obtained through their respective event reward activities, so completing the meta achievement alone won’t provide the entire mount.
You can work towards the fragments during the same voyages. Completing Bounty of the Abecean Sea provides opportunities for Deep Plunder rewards, while defeating the underwater bosses contributes to Eyes in the Dark and provides opportunities to obtain Captured Systres Zephr.
For the full collection requirements, see our ESO Suncleft Grotto Ornaug Mount guide.
Do You Need High Seas Master Angler or Wave-Tossed Missives?
Neither High Seas Master Angler nor Wave-Tossed Missives is required for ESO Flight of the Albatross.
High Seas Master Angler involves catching four rare fish from Abecean Saltwater Fishing Holes, while Wave-Tossed Missives asks players to discover four messages in bottles throughout the underwater region.
Both are separate event achievements. You can complete them for their own achievement points or additional event progression, but they aren’t part of the eight-achievement checklist needed for Arcing Ornaug Energy.
When Does ESO Flight of the Albatross End?
The High Seas of Tamriel event runs from September 30 until October 14, 2026, making October 14 the end of the confirmed event window for completing its activities.
If you’re still working towards ESO Flight of the Albatross, check how many Bounty of the Abecean Sea completions you have remaining. Treasure Hunter on the High Seas requires five, which makes repeated daily progress important.
The shipboard requirements can also take several runs if you haven’t been firing catapults, repairing breaches or defeating Champions. Once those are complete, you can concentrate on any missing underwater areas or boss objectives rather than repeating activities that have already registered.
The easiest way to complete ESO Flight of the Albatross is to make each voyage count towards several achievements. During ship battles, fire the catapults, repair damage and defeat Louse-Whisperer Champions. Once underwater, explore the required areas and make sure both named boss encounters register before finishing the daily.
After five completed Bounty of the Abecean Sea quests, most of the event progression should be well underway. Any remaining requirements can be checked individually through the achievement menu, and completing all eight awards Arcing Ornaug Energy for the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount.
