ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea is a repeatable quest introduced during the High Seas of Tamriel event in The Elder Scrolls Online. It takes players aboard the ghostly Riotous Redress for a battle against Sea Elf pirates before sending them beneath the ocean to fight dangerous creatures and recover treasure. However, the daily quest won’t appear until you’ve completed the event’s introductory storyline.
High Seas of Tamriel runs from September 30 to October 14, 2026, giving players two weeks to earn Deep Plunder Boxes, Trade Bars and rewards towards the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount. If you’re struggling to find the daily quest, there is a specific location and interaction you need to look for after restoring the ship.
How to Unlock ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea
To unlock the daily quest, you must first complete Raising the Riotous Redress, the introductory quest for High Seas of Tamriel.
You can begin the introduction in either of two ways:
- Open the Crown Store, select Quest Starters and accept Raising the Riotous Redress for free.
- Alternatively, travel to the Gold Coast and find Baron-Captain Olsien Guy Mard on the beach just outside Anvil.
- Follow the introductory storyline to recover and restore the enchanted ship’s bell.
- Return to the coast and complete the final objective to raise the Riotous Redress from the sea.
- Once the introduction is finished, locate the Riotous Redress Logbook on the beach and interact with it to begin Bounty of the Abecean Sea.
The logbook is the important final step. You don’t need to find another quest giver elsewhere in Tamriel or purchase access to the daily.
Completing Raising the Riotous Redress also awards the Ostentatious Pirate Wig and Hat collectible.

Where to Start ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea Each Day
After unlocking the quest, return to the Riotous Redress Logbook near the event ship on the Gold Coast.
Interact with the logbook to begin another voyage. The quest can be completed solo, although groups of up to four players can participate together.
You can complete Bounty of the Abecean Sea once per day on each eligible character. Additional characters allow you to earn more event rewards, although the highest-value daily reward is limited by account.
The voyage has two main stages: defending the Riotous Redress from the attacking Sea Elves and exploring the underwater region of the Abecean Sea.
ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea Ship Battle Walkthrough
The first stage places you aboard the Riotous Redress as the Maormer Lousewhisperer cult attacks.
Your job is to defend the vessel while damaging the enemy ship with artillery. Three things need your attention throughout the encounter.
Fire the ship’s catapults. When an artillery weapon becomes available, interact with it to launch a projectile towards the enemy vessel. Repeated successful attacks can eventually sink the opposing ship.
Repair hull breaches. Enemy artillery damages the Riotous Redress, creating breaches that must be repaired. Use the repair interaction when these appear rather than allowing damage to accumulate across the deck.
Defeat enemy boarders. Sea Elf attackers can board your ship, forcing you to fight while managing the artillery and repairs. The Louse-Whisperer Champions also count towards Golden Pursuits objectives.
There are two possible outcomes to the naval encounter. You can survive until the enemy ship retreats, or deal enough damage to sink it.
Sinking the ship provides additional opportunities to claim Abecean Spoils of War, making active use of the artillery worthwhile if you’re collecting treasure.
Once the battle ends, collect the available loot and follow the quest towards the underwater section.
How to Complete the Underwater Section
After the ship battle, use the Dwemer Diving Chamber to descend into the Abecean depths.
The underwater area introduces a protective bubble that allows you to survive beneath the surface. Unlike ordinary ESO exploration, losing this protection exposes you to environmental damage.
Glowing green clams restore the bubble when you make contact with them. You should look for these whenever your protection becomes weak or disappears.
Hydrothermal vents are different. They can damage your protection, so don’t treat them as refill points. The underwater route also contains objects and blockages that can be manipulated using your harpoon.
Pay attention to the environment as you move through the caverns. Some obstacles must be cleared before you can continue, while others form part of the boss encounters.
ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea Underwater Bosses
Several named enemies appear during the underwater adventure, including the Reefwardens Lucky Gretch and Bright Bazzle, and Krelzimar, Pelagic Trauma.
Lucky Gretch and Bright Bazzle
Lucky Gretch and Bright Bazzle are Haj Mota encountered within the underwater caverns.
Lucky Gretch can protect herself with a Bubble Barrier, preventing you from dealing damage. Use the nearby environmental mechanics to expose a hydrothermal vent, then lure her through it to remove the protection.
Continue through the cavern until the encounter with Bright Bazzle and the remaining Haj Mota.
Defeating the Reefwardens contributes towards the event’s Eyes in the Dark achievement and Golden Pursuits objectives.
Krelzimar, Pelagic Trauma
Krelzimar is a powerful Yaghra creature encountered towards the end of the underwater journey.
During the fight, Krelzimar becomes temporarily immune to damage and unleashes a dangerous environmental attack.
Watch for the geyser appearing in the arena. Standing in it launches your character upwards, helping you avoid the damaging explosion below.
Continue attacking whenever the immunity ends, then repeat the process until Krelzimar is defeated.
After winning the encounter, collect the Golden King’s Treasure and follow the remaining quest route to complete the voyage.
ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea Daily Quest Rewards
Completing High Seas of Tamriel event quests awards Deep Plunder Boxes containing nautical-themed rewards.
The first eligible event quest completion of the day awards a Legendary Deep Plunder Box and 300 Trade Bars. This higher-value reward is limited to once per account per day.
Additional qualifying completions on other characters can award Epic Deep Plunder Boxes.
Possible rewards include:
- Abecean Sea Privateer outfit style pages
- Galen Seawater, a fragment for the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount
- Nautical furnishings and furnishing plans
- Antiquity leads and treasure maps
- Crafting materials and other supplies
- Scrolls granting skill experience for Scrying and Excavation
The underwater bosses and treasure chests also have their own rewards, so completing the voyage offers more opportunities than simply opening the final Deep Plunder Box.
Can You Repeat ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea on Multiple Characters?
Yes. The daily quest can be completed on multiple eligible characters, although each character can only claim its daily quest completion reward once per day.
The 300 Trade Bars and Legendary Deep Plunder Box are account-wide daily rewards. Completing the voyage on additional characters won’t repeatedly award the same 300 Trade Bars.
Extra characters can still earn Epic Deep Plunder Boxes, making further runs worthwhile if you’re collecting style pages, furnishings or mount fragments.
You can also accompany another player after completing your own daily, but joining their voyage doesn’t grant another quest completion reward.
ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea Not Showing: How to Fix It
If you cannot find the daily quest, first make sure Raising the Riotous Redress is marked as completed in your quest journal.
Next, return to the beach outside Anvil and look for the Riotous Redress Logbook. The daily is started through the logbook rather than by accepting a fresh quest directly from the Baron-Captain.
If you’re using another character, check that the introductory quest requirements have been completed on that character.
The event is only available from September 30 to October 14, 2026, so the daily will no longer be accessible through its normal event route once that period ends.
ZeniMax also confirmed an issue where Krelzimar could reset and disappear during the underwater encounter. A hotfix was deployed on September 30. Players still experiencing the problem should relaunch the game before attempting another voyage and check the current ESO known-issues information if it persists.
Is ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea Worth Doing Every Day?
Completing the daily regularly is worthwhile for players collecting High Seas rewards, particularly because the first qualifying completion of the day provides 300 Trade Bars alongside a Legendary Deep Plunder Box.
Repeated voyages also contribute to event achievements. Treasure Hunter on the High Seas requires five completions of Bounty of the Abecean Sea, while other objectives involve defeating underwater bosses, operating ship artillery and collecting treasure.
Players pursuing the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount will need three separate fragments: Galen Seawater from Deep Plunder Boxes, Captured Systres Zephr from underwater boss rewards and Arcing Ornaug Energy from the Flight of the Albatross achievement.
Once you’ve unlocked ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea, the same Gold Coast logbook gives you access to the daily throughout the event. Returning regularly allows you to build up rewards while working towards the underwater achievements and exclusive collectibles before High Seas of Tamriel ends on October 14.
