The ESO High Seas of Tamriel Event Guide covers everything players need to know about the limited-time adventure running from September 30 to October 14, 2026. The event takes players aboard the Riotous Redress for ship-to-ship battles before sending them beneath the Abecean Sea to fight underwater bosses, discover hidden treasure and collect nautical rewards.
High Seas of Tamriel begins on the Gold Coast near Anvil, where a ghostly Baron-Captain needs help restoring his ship. Once the introductory quest is complete, players can take on a repeatable daily voyage for Deep Plunder Boxes, Trade Bars and chances at exclusive collectibles. There are also additional rewards from achievements, fishing, the Impresario and a separate Golden Pursuits campaign.

To begin the event, open the Crown Store, navigate to Quest Starters and accept Raising the Riotous Redress.
Alternatively, travel to the Gold Coast and look for Baron-Captain Olsien Guy Mard on the beach outside Anvil. His position is marked by the event icon on the map.
The introductory quest involves helping the ghostly captain restore the Riotous Redress, including breaking a Sload curse and restoring the enchanted ship’s bell.
Completing Raising the Riotous Redress rewards the Ostentatious Pirate Wig and Hat collectible and unlocks Bounty of the Abecean Sea, the event’s repeatable daily quest.
If the daily isn’t appearing, make sure you’ve finished the entire introduction rather than simply accepting it.
You can find the individual quest steps in our ESO Raising the Riotous Redress guide.
How to Complete Bounty of the Abecean Sea
The daily quest takes place aboard the Riotous Redress and beneath the surrounding ocean. It can be completed solo or with a group of up to four players.
Each voyage has two main sections.
Ship combat
The first section involves defending the Riotous Redress against Sea Elf attackers. You’ll need to deal with enemy boarders, repair damage to your ship and operate siege weapons during the battle.
Watch for breaches that need repairing, particularly if you’re also completing Golden Pursuits objectives. The campaign includes tasks for repairing breaches, firing siege weapons and sinking an enemy ship.
After the battle, look for Post-Battle Flotsam floating in the water beside the ship. Retrieving it awards an Abecean Spoils of War chest, with a second chest available if you successfully sink the enemy vessel.
These chests can contain pirate gold, Antiquity leads and nautical furnishings. There’s also an extremely rare chance of finding a sack containing one million gold.
Underwater exploration
The second section takes you beneath the Abecean Sea using the Dwemer Diving Chamber.
Underwater exploration involves moving within a protective bubble, using a harpoon to interact with enemies and obstacles, and searching for treasure.
Named boss encounters include the Reefwardens Lucky Gretch and Bright Bazzle, along with Krelzimar, Pelagic Trauma.
Undersea bosses are particularly important for anyone collecting the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount, as one of its required fragments comes from these encounters.
The complete daily quest is covered in our ESO Bounty of the Abecean Sea guide.
ESO High Seas of Tamriel Event Guide: Daily Rewards

One of the biggest rewards from High Seas of Tamriel is the Deep Plunder Box, earned from completing event quests.
There are two qualities of reward box, and the distinction matters because some exclusive collectibles only appear in the higher-quality version.
Legendary Deep Plunder Boxes
The first qualifying daily quest completion on your account each day awards a Legendary Deep Plunder Box.
Opening this box grants 300 Trade Bars alongside its random contents.
Legendary boxes have a chance to contain Abecean Sea Privateer weapon style pages and Galen Seawater, one of the three fragments required for the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount.
These exclusive items aren’t guaranteed from every box, so collecting them may require several daily rewards.
Epic Deep Plunder Boxes
Additional eligible event quest completions can award Epic Deep Plunder Boxes, with the quest reward available once per character per day.
Epic boxes don’t contain the exclusive weapon style pages or the Ornaug fragment found in Legendary boxes. However, both box qualities can award:
- Motif style items and crafting materials.
- Crafting improvement materials, alchemy reagents and enchanting runestones.
- Equipment and group repair kits.
- Treasure maps and Antiquity leads.
- Excavation and Scrying Skill XP scrolls.
- Rare High Seas of Tamriel furnishings.
The 300 Trade Bars reward is account-wide and isn’t repeated for every character completing the daily.
For the full breakdown, see our ESO High Seas of Tamriel Event Boxes guide.
ESO High Seas of Tamriel Event Guide: Suncleft Grotto Ornaug Mount
The Suncleft Grotto Ornaug is one of the event’s headline collectibles. To unlock it, players must obtain three separate fragments.
| Mount fragment | How to obtain |
|---|---|
| Galen Seawater | Legendary Deep Plunder Boxes |
| Captured Systres Zephr | Undersea boss encounters |
| Arcing Ornaug Energy | Flight of the Albatross achievement |
Collecting Galen Seawater alone won’t unlock the mount. You’ll need to complete the underwater boss content and earn Flight of the Albatross to obtain the remaining fragments.
Because the fragments come from different activities, players working towards the mount should take part in both the daily voyage and the wider event achievements.
Our ESO Suncleft Grotto Ornaug Mount guide explains how to obtain all three fragments.
Abecean Sea Privateer Style and Furnishing Rewards
The Abecean Sea Privateer collection includes weapon style pages available from Legendary Deep Plunder Boxes and the Impresario.
Players can use Trade Bars to purchase available styles instead of relying entirely on random drops. Check which pages you’ve already collected before spending your currency.
The event also introduces a variety of nautical furnishings through reward boxes, undersea bosses and treasure chests.
Some furnishings come from Antiquity leads rather than dropping as completed items. High Seas also introduces leads for furnishing recipes, allowing players who successfully excavate them to craft the associated items.
Our ESO Abecean Sea Privateer Style guide covers the outfit collection.
ESO High Seas of Tamriel Event Guide: Golden Pursuits Rewards
Alongside the main event, Set Sail on the High Seas introduces 24 Golden Pursuits tasks with additional milestone rewards.
These objectives include completing the introductory quest, defeating enemies, repairing ship damage, fishing, using the harpoon and collecting underwater treasure.
You only need to complete 18 of the 24 tasks to earn the final reward.
| Tasks completed | Reward |
|---|---|
| 2 | 10,000 Gold |
| 4 | Lilmoth Turtle pet |
| 5 | Abecean Sea Privateer Sash |
| 6 | Abecean Sea Privateer Epaulets |
| 8 | Abecean Sea Privateer Breeches |
| 10 | Abecean Sea Privateer Hat |
| 12 | Abecean Sea Privateer Gloves |
| 16 | Abecean Sea Privateer Shoes |
| 18 | Abecean Sea Privateer Jerkin |
The Golden Pursuits armour rewards are separate from the Abecean Sea Privateer weapon pages available through Legendary boxes and the Impresario.
Several objectives can be completed during normal daily voyages, while others require additional activities such as fishing or repeated ship combat.
You can find every objective in our ESO Set Sail on the High Seas Golden Pursuits guide.
High Seas Master Angler and Fishing Rewards
High Seas of Tamriel also adds special Abecean Saltwater Fishing Holes near the Riotous Redress anchorage off the Gold Coast.
These fishing spots are used for the High Seas Master Angler achievement, which requires four rare fish:
- Pelican Eel
- Abecean Slaughterfish
- Abyssal Grenadier
- Pelagic Lanternfish
All four are caught from the event’s saltwater fishing holes using appropriate saltwater bait.
Fishing also contributes towards Golden Pursuits, which includes objectives for fishing from Abecean Saltwater Fishing Holes 10 and 20 times.
Our ESO High Seas Master Angler guide covers the four required catches.
ESO High Seas of Tamriel Event Guide: End Date
High Seas of Tamriel began on September 30, 2026, and ends on October 14, 2026.
The accompanying Set Sail on the High Seas Golden Pursuits campaign follows the same dates.
Players hoping to finish the event’s limited-time rewards should prioritise the daily Legendary Deep Plunder Box, followed by any missing mount fragments, Golden Pursuits milestones or fishing achievements.
If you’re starting late, completing Raising the Riotous Redress should be your first priority. That unlocks the daily voyage, rewards the pirate wig and hat, and allows you to begin collecting the event’s repeatable rewards.
High Seas of Tamriel offers plenty beyond its main daily quest, particularly for players interested in collecting mounts, furnishings and cosmetic styles. Completing the introduction opens the event’s repeatable content, while daily Legendary boxes provide chances at the rarest rewards and a guaranteed supply of Trade Bars. With the event ending on October 14, there’s still time to make progress across the different collections before the voyages conclude.
