Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards: Free and Premium Track

Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards use the game’s refreshed 50-level seasonal progression track, with a mixture of free unlocks and an optional Premium Tier. The headline free reward is the Flame’s Light Lantern at the end of the track, while the Premium Tier adds the Mutiny’s Mark ship collection, 1,000 Ancient Coins and a boost to Renown earnings.

The structure of Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards matters because several launch-week cosmetics sit outside the Season Pass entirely. Parley Proficiency Sails, the Vociferous Speaking Trumpet, Loquacious Figurehead and Twitch Drops all have their own acquisition methods, so they should not be mistaken for level rewards on the Season 21 track.

Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards explained

The free Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards track has 50 levels of Renown to progress through. Rare says those levels award Doubloon Pouches, playable Voyages and choices of cosmetic rewards that were previously available through the Pirate Emporium. Reaching the end of the track awards the Season 21 Star Prize, the Flame’s Light Lantern.

Premium TierMutiny’s Mark ship collection, Collector’s Figurehead and Sails, 1,000 Ancient Coins and boosted Renown progression

You do not need the Premium Tier to begin earning Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards. The normal Season Pass is available as the free progression route, while Premium adds another set of unlocks on top rather than replacing the standard track.

How the free Season 21 track works

Progress through Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards by earning Seasonal Renown during normal play. Sea of Thieves awards Renown as you complete activities and spend time adventuring, so there is no single Season 21 Voyage that has to be repeated from level 1 to level 50.

The free track is built around rewards at regular points across those 50 levels. Rare specifically identifies Doubloon Pouches, playable Voyages and selectable cosmetics from earlier Pirate Emporium offerings as part of the structure. If a level presents a choice, make the selection from the Season Pass screen rather than expecting every option on that level to be granted at once.

How to get the Flame’s Light Lantern

The Flame’s Light Lantern is the Star Prize for completing the free Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards track. Reach level 50 in Season 21 and complete the track to claim it. There is no separate Talk Like a Pirate Day objective attached to the lantern.

We already have a dedicated Flame’s Light Lantern guide for the specific unlock. The important point here is that it belongs to normal seasonal progression, not Game Pass, Microsoft Rewards or Twitch.

What is included in the Premium Tier?

The paid side of Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards is the Season Pass: Premium Tier. Rare lists the complete Mutiny’s Mark ship collection as the exclusive cosmetic set, including the Collector’s Figurehead and Collector’s Sails, along with 1,000 Ancient Coins.

Premium owners also receive boosted Renown earnings during the Season. That boost helps move through the same 50-level structure more quickly, but it does not mean the free track disappears. Players who only care about the Star Prize can continue progressing without buying Premium.

Season 21 rewards that are not on the pass

Several highly visible cosmetics launched at the same time as Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards but use completely separate routes. The Parley Proficiency Sails require three crew encounters with the Parley Pennant during the Talk Like a Pirate Day event. The new Vociferous Speaking Trumpet is an Xbox Game Pass benefit available through October 31.

The Loquacious Figurehead comes from participating Microsoft Rewards Ancient Coin offers. The September Twitch Drops begin on September 18 at 10:00 UTC and use cumulative watch time, ending with the Fishbone Throwing Knives at six hours.

Do you need to claim rewards manually?

Open the Season Pass screen as you progress through Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards and claim the rewards shown on unlocked levels. Rare has also built automatic end-of-season handling into the refreshed system for unclaimed rewards, but there is little reason to leave choices sitting if you already know which cosmetic you want.

Keeping an eye on the track also makes it easier to separate your seasonal level from limited events. A Twitch reward or Game Pass cosmetic can arrive on the same account without changing which Season Pass level you have reached.

How to progress faster during Season 21

Normal play is the core route through Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards, but launch events can add useful momentum. The September Twitch Drops include one Season 21 Renown Level early in their reward chain, and later seasonal events can provide their own Renown opportunities.

You do not need to optimise every session around the pass. Voyages, combat, exploration and other regular activities all contribute to seasonal play, so the most sustainable way to finish the 50 levels is to keep working on the parts of Sea of Thieves you already want to complete.

Rare’s Season 21 page sets out the free and Premium track structure, while Xbox confirms the Flame’s Light Lantern at the end of the refreshed progression. For Sea of Thieves Season 21 Rewards, the main choice is simply whether you want the free 50-level track alone or the additional Mutiny’s Mark and Ancient Coin rewards from Premium.
