Ocarina of Time Hall of Fallen Foes is a new location in the Nintendo Switch 2 remake where Link can examine statues of defeated monsters and take part in rematch battles. Nintendo introduced the feature in its October 2026 overview trailer.

That gives returning players something the Nintendo 64 original never offered: a dedicated place to face old enemies again. The remake launches on 5 November 2026, with the Hall adding a new activity rather than merely improving graphics.

The centrepiece of Ocarina of Time Hall of Fallen Foes is its collection of statues. Nintendo says the statues represent monsters Link has defeated, and players can visit them to learn more about those enemies or fight them again.

The statues are more than decoration. They give enemies you’ve already beaten a place in the Hall, so there’s a reason to return to those encounters instead of leaving them behind at the end of a dungeon.

The original Nintendo 64 game had memorable boss fights, but there was no Hall with a collection of enemy statues. This is a new area rather than a renamed menu from the 1998 version.

How do the rematch battles work?

The boss statues are the part that makes Ocarina of Time Hall of Fallen Foes especially interesting. The overview trailer shows Link opening information on a defeated foe, including details about the enemy and a rematch option for bosses.

In the original game, a boss is generally the final challenge in a dungeon. You explore the area, master its item and puzzle ideas, and then face its strongest enemy. A dedicated rematch space creates a different opportunity: testing your skills without replaying the entire story to reach the fight.

The trailer shows a timed rematch against King Dodongo. The boss display records a rematch time, giving you something to beat on your next attempt. Nintendo has not announced a separate currency or reward shop for the Hall.

Ocarina of Time Hall of Fallen Foes: confirmed bosses

Monster statues also act as a bestiary. The trailer shows enemy descriptions and their main locations, while boss displays include useful items and the option to start another fight. You can learn about an enemy without immediately challenging it.

King Dodongo is a confirmed example of a Hall rematch shown in Nintendo’s overview trailer. The original game also features Queen Gohma, Barinade, Phantom Ganon, Volvagia, Morpha, Bongo Bongo and Twinrova, but the announcement doesn’t establish every one of those as an eligible Hall rematch.

There’s also a difference between a dungeon boss and an ordinary enemy. The official wording says ‘defeated monsters’, so it would be wrong to promise every original boss can be selected.

Why does Nintendo also call it Hall of Fallen Heroes?

The name differs between Nintendo materials. The overview trailer shows Hall of Fallen Foes on screen, which is also the name used in Nintendo’s game-page image. The accompanying news article calls it Hall of Fallen Heroes. They refer to the same monster-statue room and its rematches, so this guide uses the in-game name.

Where do you find Hall of Fallen Foes?

Ocarina of Time Hall of Fallen Foes is a location in the remake, not part of the ZELDA NOTES smartphone service. Nintendo’s overview confirms its purpose but does not identify an exact entrance on the Hyrule map.

Nintendo hasn’t shown the entrance or a story milestone that opens it. An exact route through Hyrule will only be useful once the game’s map and the Hall’s access requirements are confirmed.

When the remake launches, this guide can add the entrance, statue controls and the full enemy roster. For now, the confirmed attraction is finding information about defeated monsters and fighting them again.

Ocarina of Time Hall of Fallen Foes rematch times and rewards

Ocarina of Time Hall of Fallen Foes includes timed boss rematches, and the display records completion times. You can try to beat your previous performance. There is no confirmed points shop or individual item reward to claim after every victory.

It’s a good addition for anyone who enjoys mastering a familiar boss fight. You can concentrate on a faster, cleaner victory without replaying the dungeon that originally led to the encounter.

How is the Hall different from the original?

Ocarina of Time Hall of Fallen Foes is new to the Switch 2 edition as a location with monster statues and information. Ocarina of Time 3D on Nintendo 3DS did feature a Boss Challenge mode, but the remake’s museum-style Hall presents enemy information and rematches differently.

The Hall is different because it offers an additional destination and activity. It complements Threads of Time, the separate story recap that helps you find your next main objective.

Nintendo’s Hall reveal gives returning fans a new reason to spend time with Hyrule’s monsters. The location, rematches and statue displays are confirmed; the exact fight selection will be clear in the finished release.
