Gothic 3 Classic Community Patch 1.75 is included in the console version releasing on 24 November 2026. THQ Nordic confirms that PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 players will get the community patch as part of the game, alongside improved controller support, graphics and performance.
The patch is already part of the game. THQ Nordic is adding changes of its own too, including a controller-friendly interface and improvements to graphics and performance.
Gothic 3 Classic Community Patch 1.75: Is it built in?
Yes. The official game site lists Community Patch 1.75 as integrated into the port, rather than something you need to download and apply yourself.
Gothic 3 launched on PC in 2006 and received substantial community fixes afterwards. The console edition includes that patch work and adds further gameplay improvements from THQ Nordic.
This is still a port of the original RPG, not a remake. Including the patch doesn’t mean that console players can install other PC mods or import old saves. Neither feature has been confirmed.
What does Gothic 3 Classic Community Patch 1.75 improve?
THQ Nordic’s 13 October announcement lists these improvements to the console edition as a whole. Some go beyond Patch 1.75, so this is a list of what the new version includes, not a changelog for the old community patch.
| Area | Confirmed change |
|---|---|
| Community Patch | Version 1.75 integrated |
| Controls | Purpose-built gamepad UI and controls |
| Gameplay | Additional balancing, combat updates and fixes |
| Rendering | New shading model, tone mapping and screen-space ambient occlusion (SSAO) |
| World graphics | Improved lighting, shadows, water and textures |
| Performance | Further optimisation |
The shading model, tone mapping and other graphical updates were announced for the console port. THQ Nordic hasn’t assigned every individual fix to either the original patch or the additional console work.

What are the controller and interface changes?
The console edition has a purpose-built gamepad interface and controls. That’s a substantial change for an RPG designed for mouse and keyboard, where you’ll constantly move between dialogue, inventory, exploration and combat.
Combat includes quick strikes, sweeping melee moves and ranged weapons. THQ Nordic hasn’t published a complete console button map, so the exact shortcuts and remapping options still need checking.
The confirmed improvement is a control scheme designed around gamepads. Specific button assignments will become clearer when THQ Nordic shows the full console interface or the game launches.
What graphics and performance changes are confirmed?
The port introduces a new shading model, updated tone mapping and screen-space ambient occlusion, which helps give objects and surfaces depth through local shading. THQ Nordic also mentions better lighting, shadows, water and textures.
Performance optimisation is confirmed, but there’s no official per-console frame-rate or resolution breakdown yet. Including Gothic 3 Classic Community Patch 1.75 doesn’t establish a 60fps Switch 2 mode or a specific PS5 preset.
THQ Nordic also mentions gameplay, balance and combat fixes. Its announcement doesn’t identify every affected quest or animation, so the broad list shouldn’t be treated as a full patch log.
How does the patch affect the RPG itself?
Gothic 3 puts the Nameless Hero in Myrtana, where orcs have seized much of the mainland. King Rhobar’s defenders hold Vengard, rebels oppose the occupation and the southern Hashishin work with the orcs. Your choices affect how the story and faction relationships develop.
With more than 50 types of monsters and animals, over 50 spells, more than 100 melee and ranged weapons and no fixed character classes, you’ll spend a lot of time exploring and fighting. Better controls and performance matter throughout that adventure.
The game keeps the original Myrtana adventure and its faction choices. The technical upgrades aren’t a new campaign or a continuation of Gothic 1 Remake.
Do you need to download Gothic 3 Classic Community Patch 1.75?
No. The Gothic 3 Classic Community Patch 1.75 is already included when you get the console game. Future official updates, if released, would be a separate matter from manually installing PC patch files.
If you play the older PC version, keep its patch instructions separate. This announcement covers the upcoming console port and doesn’t establish a new update procedure for your existing PC installation.
When does Gothic 3 Classic launch?
The Gothic 3 Classic Community Patch 1.75 console release is scheduled for 24 November 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. There is no announced PS4 or Xbox One version of Gothic 3 Classic, unlike the previous two Classic titles.
For the platforms, price and launch details, see our Gothic 3 Classic release-date guide. THQ Nordic lists €29.99 in Europe, while local prices and digital unlock times still need to be checked.
