ESO Oakensoul Ring is assembled from five Antiquities fragments found through different activities and zones. You’ll need to earn each lead and finish its excavation before the ring is added to your collection; finding one piece doesn’t reveal or complete the other four.
Greymoor and Antiquities are scheduled to become base-game content on October 19, 2026, but the Oakensoul hunt still involves High Isle and Murkmire. Those zones have their own access requirements, so check them before farming.
ESO Oakensoul Ring: all 5 leads and locations
| Fragment / lead | Zone | Exact lead source |
|---|---|---|
| Igneous Inlays | High Isle and Amenos (or Galen) | Complete Volcanic Vents |
| Larimar Gems | Stormhaven | Defeat Titanclaw at Mudcrab Beach world-boss location |
| Petrified Oak Loop | Murkmire | Open safeboxes or Thieves Troves; try with auto-loot disabled |
| Sacred Resin | Malabal Tor | Defeat ordinary monsters in the zone |
| Stone Shank Frame | Glenumbra | Harvest blacksmithing ore nodes |
Use Journal → Antiquities whenever a lead drops. Scry it, travel to its marked search area and dig up the fragment. It’s the excavation, rather than the lead dropping, that moves the five-piece collection towards completion.

How to collect and excavate every fragment
- Complete the Antiquarian Circle introduction in Solitude to unlock Scrying and Excavation.
- Raise Scrying to at least level 7 and unlock Antiquarian Insight IV for master-quality Mythic leads.
- Travel to one of the exact lead sources in the table and complete the listed activity until the lead is obtained.
- Open Journal → Antiquities, select the lead, and complete the scrying puzzle.
- Go to the highlighted search area and use the Antiquarian’s Eye to find the dig mound, then excavate the fragment.
- Repeat for every other distinct lead. Once all fragments are excavated, the item or mount is assembled.
Keep track of your recovered Oakensoul fragments in the Antiquities Journal. If a piece is already complete, move on to a different lead source. One extra drop won’t replace a missing fragment.

DLC and zone access requirements
Oakensoul itself is tied to High Isle; the final dig sites are in High Isle/Amenos. You also need Murkmire access for Petrified Oak Loop. Having Antiquities unlocked free does not remove either of these zone requirements.
All five Oakensoul excavations take place in High Isle and Amenos. You also need Murkmire access to obtain the Petrified Oak Loop lead, although the other sources include base-game zones and Volcanic Vents.
Oakensoul leads that are harder to farm
The Petrified Oak Loop is frequently the awkward fragment: it comes from safeboxes and Thieves Troves in Murkmire, rather than a boss. Check both sources before grinding a single chest spawn. Its lead is dug in High Isle, not Murkmire.
For Igneous Inlays, finish Volcanic Vents in High Isle, Amenos or Galen. Larimar Gems comes from Titanclaw at Mudcrab Beach in Stormhaven. In Murkmire, check both safeboxes and Thieves Troves for Petrified Oak Loop; consider turning auto-loot off before opening them.
Why an Oakensoul lead isn’t dropping or cannot be scryed
If you’ve searched Murkmire for the Petrified Oak Loop without success, make sure you’re opening the correct container types. The drop is not guaranteed. If you already own the lead, finish its Scrying and excavation instead of trying to find another copy.
How to finish and use the completed reward
After excavating all five fragments, Oakensoul Ring appears as an assembled Mythic ring in your inventory. It is designed for one-bar builds: it grants a collection of buffs but disables swapping between your main and backup weapon sets. You can only equip one Mythic at a time.
If Oakensoul Ring hasn’t appeared, check the Petrified Oak Loop entry: its lead comes from Murkmire safeboxes or Thieves Troves, but the excavation is in High Isle. The other four components must also show as successfully excavated.
