ESO Harpooner’s Wading Kilt: All Five Lead Locations

ESO Harpooner’s Wading Kilt needs five separate Antiquities fragments before you can equip the Mythic. Its leads come from different activities, including harvesting, fishing and dungeon content, so you won’t finish this one by repeatedly killing a single boss.

Antiquities and Greymoor are scheduled to join the ESO base game on October 19, 2026, but the Kilt still involves other zones and DLC content. Check that you can reach Murkmire, Blackwood and Ruins of Mazzatun before committing to the full hunt.

ESO Harpooner’s Wading Kilt: all 5 leads and locations

Fragment / lead Lead drop zone Exact lead source
Bog-Blue Jasper Fetish Ruins of Mazzatun (Shadowfen) Defeat the final boss in Ruins of Mazzatun dungeon
Kothringi-Cut Leather Blackwood Defeat Blackwood world bosses
Silverweave Cord Bal Foyen Defeat Covenant enemies in the zone
Tide-Glass Beads Shadowfen Harvest water and alchemy nodes such as water plants
Wolf-Tail Sash Murkmire Fish in Foul fishing holes

Each Harpooner’s Wading Kilt lead needs its own successful excavation. When one appears, open Journal → Antiquities, scry it and travel to the dig zone. The fragment only counts after you’ve uncovered it, not when its lead first drops.

How to collect and excavate every fragment

  1. Complete the Antiquarian Circle introduction in Solitude to unlock Scrying and Excavation.
  2. Raise Scrying to at least level 7 and unlock Antiquarian Insight IV for master-quality Mythic leads.
  3. Travel to one of the exact lead sources in the table and complete the listed activity until the lead is obtained.
  4. Open Journal → Antiquities, select the lead, and complete the scrying puzzle.
  5. Go to the highlighted search area and use the Antiquarian’s Eye to find the dig mound, then excavate the fragment.
  6. Repeat for every other distinct lead. Once all fragments are excavated, the item or mount is assembled.

Look through your Antiquities Journal after finishing a dig. It shows which Kilt fragments you’ve recovered, making it easier to choose your next farming spot instead of running the same activities again.

Harpooner’s Wading Kilt access requirements

Ruins of Mazzatun is a DLC dungeon, Blackwood is an additional zone, and Murkmire is required for the Wolf-Tail Sash. Getting the free Antiquities skill does not grant those three types of access.

You also need Blackwood access to excavate the Kilt’s fragments, even if you obtained a lead in Shadowfen or Bal Foyen. Having the lead doesn’t grant access to the zone where you must dig it up.

Hardest leads and farming advice

Tide-Glass Beads comes from harvesting around water in Shadowfen, not killing a named world boss. The Wolf-Tail Sash comes from Foul fishing holes in Murkmire. Mix fishing, gathering and dungeon runs rather than trying to farm every lead through combat.

For Silverweave Cord, fight Covenant enemies in Bal Foyen. Kothringi-Cut Leather comes from Blackwood world bosses, and Bog-Blue Jasper Fetish comes from the final encounter in Ruins of Mazzatun. Each is a chance-based lead, so one kill isn’t a guarantee.

Why a lead isn’t dropping or cannot be scryed

If the Harpooner’s Wading Kilt lead you want isn’t appearing, make sure you’re using its actual source. Gathering and fishing leads won’t come from random enemies. Check for an active copy in your Journal too, then allow for the fact that random drops may take several attempts.

If a lead appears in your Journal but you can’t scry it, check that you are in its digging zone and have Scrying level 7 with Antiquarian Insight IV. For this set, the digs are associated with Blackwood; the source zones listed above are where you obtain the leads.

How to equip Harpooner’s Wading Kilt

Once all five fragments have been successfully excavated, Harpooner’s Wading Kilt is assembled automatically. Find it in your inventory and equip it as a Mythic armour piece. You can equip only one Mythic item at a time, so check whether your current build already uses another.

If Harpooner’s Wading Kilt hasn’t appeared, open the Antiquities Journal and check all five components. The leads come from several zones, but their excavations are in Blackwood, so returning to the original drop location won’t complete a piece you haven’t dug up.
