Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO starts with Water Gun because the Water-type Fast Attack gives Sobble useful same-type damage and turns into Max Geyser during the Dynamax phase. For ordinary Charged Attack damage, Surf is the practical choice, although the Charged Attack does not determine the type of Sobble’s attacking Max Move.
The important part of Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO is understanding that a temporary Sobble build and a future Inteleon build are not the same thing. Sobble is a low-stat starter, so heavy TM or Stardust investment should usually wait until you have decided whether this particular catch is going to become Dynamax Inteleon.

Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO for Max Battles

| Slot | Recommended choice |
|---|---|
| Fast Attack | Water Gun |
| Charged Attack | Surf |
| Attacking Max Move | Max Geyser |
| Utility | Max Guard or Max Spirit when needed |
Water Gun is the key part of Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO because Max Battles convert the Fast Attack type into the attacking Max Move. Water Gun therefore creates Max Geyser, while Pound would produce neutral Max Strike.
Surf is a sensible Charged Attack for Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO outside the Max phase because it is efficient and receives same-type Water damage. You do not need an Elite TM or any rare move just to make Sobble function in its current one-star role.
Should you spend TMs on Sobble?
Only spend heavily on Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO if the IVs justify keeping the Pokémon. The biggest reason to own the catch is its ability to evolve into Dynamax Inteleon, where Water Gun and the evolved move pool become much more valuable.
If a Sobble already has Water Gun and Surf, leave it alone. Candy, Stardust and Max Particles are more limiting than ordinary TMs over the long term, and Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO does not need perfection to clear easy Max Battles.
How the moveset changes after evolution
Once evolved, Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO is no longer the final decision. Dynamax Inteleon can use Water Gun with Hydro Cannon for excellent standard Water damage, while Snipe Shot is another strong Water option. Its attacking Max Move still comes from the Fast Attack, so Water Gun remains important.
Use our Inteleon best moveset guide for the standard raid and PvP side, and Dynamax Inteleon best Max Moves for Max Battles. That split keeps Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO focused on Sobble rather than pretending the unevolved Pokémon has the same role as its final evolution.
When Pound makes sense
Pound is not the normal recommendation for Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO, but it can be useful when you deliberately want Max Strike instead of Water damage. In most real battles, Water Gun’s same-type bonus and access to Max Geyser make it the more natural choice.
Against the current Sobble boss, your own Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO is not especially relevant because Grass and Electric attackers should be doing the work. The moveset matters after the catch, when you start preparing the Pokémon for future Water-favoured Max Battles.
There are really two move decisions here. The Fast Attack controls the attacking Max Move during a Max Battle, while the Charged Attack matters when the Pokémon is fighting normally between Dynamax phases or being used outside the Max system. That is why a set that looks fine on a conventional raid chart can still be the wrong choice for a dedicated Max build.
Do not spend an Elite TM simply because one legacy move ranks highly on paper. First decide whether this particular Sobble has the IVs and Max investment to justify becoming your long-term Inteleon. If it is only a temporary rotation catch, keeping a serviceable regular move set and saving premium TMs for the final build is usually the cleaner resource decision.
Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO Summary
Dynamax Sobble Best Moveset Pokémon GO is Water Gun with Surf for a straightforward Water build, with Water Gun also giving you Max Geyser in Max Battles. Treat Sobble as the starting point of an Inteleon project and save major resource investment for a catch you genuinely intend to evolve and use.
