Dancing in the Moonlight runs through September 28 at 11:59 p.m. local time in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Clefairy surges at 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. for five minutes.

How to get Clefairy during the event

Catch the scheduled wild spawns, complete the Moonlit Path Timed Research, or use the second research after unlocking it.

Can Clefairy be Shiny?

Yes. Clefairy is Shiny eligible during the event. Pokémon GO does not publish a numerical Shiny rate for Dancing in the Moonlight.

Clefairy Pokémon GO catches during Dancing in the Moonlight are worth checking individually rather than mass-transferring immediately. A Shiny, strong IV spread or eligible Special Background can make one encounter much more collectible than another.

If your main goal is evolution, use the event’s increased access to build Clefairy Candy before deciding which specimen becomes Clefable. That is a more efficient use of Clefairy Pokémon GO event spawns than evolving the first catch and then finding a stronger one later.
