Assassin’s Creed Valhalla New Game Plus launches on 5 November 2026. You’ll be able to restart Eivor’s adventure with much of your existing progress and favourite gear, with dedicated scaling to give the replay its own challenge.

The update adds more than a replay option. Mithril upgrades, an optional Power mode, a stash and a new Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Assassin’s Creed Shadows are all confirmed for the same release.

Ubisoft confirmed Thursday, 5 November 2026 in its 29 October franchise update, shortly after Valhalla passed 40 million players. It’s a long-requested addition for players who want to experience the story again without leaving their favourite loadout behind.

There’s no announced launch hour for the UK, US or other regions. Ubisoft has also promised more news about current-generation consoles, but hasn’t given them a separate confirmed release date.

What carries over into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla New Game Plus?

The confirmed carryover is much of your previous progression and favourite equipment. You can return to the main story with a familiar build rather than starting from zero, although exactly what transfers hasn’t been detailed.

The word much doesn’t mean everything. Ubisoft hasn’t listed which currencies, settlement improvements, quest items or DLC progress carry over. Keep your current save intact until the patch notes explain the exceptions.

For anyone who invested hours in a preferred weapon setup, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla New Game Plus offers the chance to put it to use across the story, rather than only in activities you’ve already completed.

How difficulty and New Game Plus scaling work

Ubisoft confirms dedicated New Game+ scaling for repeat playthroughs. It’s a separate balancing system, but the announcement doesn’t explain how enemy levels and difficulty are calculated.

That leaves the exact enemy strength and scaling options for the patch notes. It’s too early to claim particular level multipliers or a mandatory difficulty setting.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla New Game Plus also arrives alongside an optional Power progression mode. That separate setting counts gear, runes and masteries towards Eivor’s Power. Our Valhalla Power mode guide explains the three confirmed contributors without inventing numerical values.

Mithril, Divine Gear and new rewards

The update introduces Mithril, which Ubisoft says is used to upgrade Divine Gear and strengthen runes. Divine Gear quality is also being extended to all items. That gives returning players more equipment-progression options, but it doesn’t mean the patch automatically upgrades every weapon to maximum quality.

There are new runes, achievements and a stash system too. Ubisoft has not explained the stash’s capacity, how to find Mithril or the exact material costs. See our Mithril and Divine Gear guide for the two confirmed uses of the new resource.

Ubisoft hasn’t set out the unlock requirements for every new feature. Our Mithril and Divine Gear guide explains what the new material upgrades without guessing where it drops.

Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe

A new Master Assassin outfit, inspired by Naoe from Assassin’s Creed Shadows, is among the rewards arriving with the update. Ubisoft confirms the outfit’s existence and inspiration, but has not announced the quest, price or achievement needed to unlock it.

It’s an outfit for Valhalla, not an announcement that Naoe will become a playable character in Eivor’s story. Nor is there a confirmed combat bonus or special perk attached to it. Until the reward conditions are shown, a supposed step-by-step unlock guide would be guessing.

The outfit is a confirmed November 5 reward, but its unlock method hasn’t been announced. It belongs in the update overview until there are actual steps for players to follow.

How to start Assassin’s Creed Valhalla New Game Plus

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla New Game Plus is designed around replaying Eivor’s adventure with prior progress. Ubisoft has not yet published a starting menu sequence, exact completion prerequisite, save-slot handling or DLC reset rules. That means there is no verified button-by-button tutorial before the update arrives.

For now, preserve your current save and make a note of the weapons and armour you want to bring back to England. A first-time player may prefer the ordinary campaign, where its equipment and story progression can unfold as designed. Returning players can look forward to a new run with their favourite gear and a revised challenge, without assuming that every old reward will transfer.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla New Game Plus is set for 5 November. The date, partial carryover and dedicated scaling are confirmed; the starting menu, full transfer list and outfit reward conditions still need the release notes.
