Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes: XP, DMZ and Prestige Fixes

Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes

The Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes confirm changes that raise kill XP in Search and Destroy and Collateral from 100 to 300, fix a disappearing Collateral bomb and correct several DMZ problems. The update also makes Prestige resets properly clear Loadouts, stops deployment while your Overflow Stash still has items and reduces Drill Charge damage against the Colossus.

Search and Destroy is the exception: an earlier fix for the stretched bomb model made the bomb impossible to pick up from some positions, so Infinity Ward rolled it back. Bomb stretching still needs another fix. Here is what changed on October 25, what it means when you play and which problems aren’t resolved yet.

Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes: Multiplayer XP and bomb changes

The headline change is that an elimination now gives 300 XP instead of 100 XP in both Search and Destroy and Collateral. That’s a threefold increase to the specified kill XP reward, not a threefold boost to all match XP, weapon XP or Collateral’s buy-round cash.

The Collateral bomb should no longer disappear after a player interacts with it. In Search and Destroy, however, a prior fix for the stretching bomb model caused players to be unable to pick the bomb up in certain positions. Infinity Ward rolled that fix back; bomb stretching remains a known issue awaiting another repair.

Editing a Loadout for the first time in a match should no longer cause a brief freeze. Frontline and Hijack should play their announcer introductions again. Infinity Ward is considering more XP adjustments and future weapon tuning, but the October 25 notes don’t give dates or weapon damage figures.

Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes: Prestige and Gunsmith

Prestiging now correctly clears your equipped Loadouts. The two Prestige paths still have different unlock rules: Regular keeps level-based equipment available, while Classic makes you earn that equipment again. Check your classes afterwards and rebuild any that have reset. Our Modern Warfare 4 Prestige guide covers both choices.

Locked attachments now show their weapon stats again in Gunsmith. The Optic Rail Placement display and the fast-scrolling Resource Management Trait description have also been fixed. The Patriot XMR, Oden and Cronen Squall were mistakenly labelled Battle Rifles in parts of the interface; this is a classification correction, not a published weapon damage buff or nerf.

In DMZ, Lieutenant intel requirements and the defeated indicator should no longer disappear when you hover over a previously eliminated Lieutenant on the Boss Board. This corrects the display, not the requirement to unlock intel.

DMZ Overflow Stash: why deployment is now blocked

The Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes confirm you can no longer enter DMZ with items left in the Overflow Stash. Open the Stash/Loadout station and make room for them before pressing Deploy again. It is an intended restriction following the patch, not a new mission requirement.

From your Forward Operating Base, open Stash/Loadout, review the overflow, move items to available slots and deal with surplus items until the Overflow Stash is empty. Only then attempt to deploy. Our DMZ Stash guide explains the slots, Bank and capacity upgrades in detail.

Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes: Hospital Elevator fix

Players can no longer bypass the Hospital Elevator objective in the Critical Extraction Story Mission. To finish the mission properly, find General Kang at Mirae General Hospital, push his bed through the required elevator stages and secure him inside the rooftop exfil helicopter. Don’t follow an older walkthrough that depends on skipping the elevator objective.

The fix only closes the elevator shortcut. The hospital location and mission rewards have not been changed in these notes. If you’re stuck, follow the current elevator objective rather than an older shortcut video. Our Critical Extraction walkthrough covers Kang’s room, the two lifts and the rooftop chopper.

Colossus Drill Charge nerf

Infinity Ward decreased Drill Charge damage against the enemy Colossus. It did not publish a new damage number, percentage or an exact number of charges needed to kill the Commander. Treat old videos of fast Drill Charge takedowns as potentially outdated.

The Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes do not list a new damage value. The Colossus is still a heavily armoured minigun-wielding Commander, so don’t rely on a pre-patch Drill Charge kill count. The Colossus boss guide covers reported spawn areas, firing positions and what the Commander can drop. No other Commander damage changes were announced.

Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes: Other DMZ fixes

The Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes also fix several smaller DMZ problems: Sedans missing from marked Tac-Map positions, enemy AI clipping through the Crashed Drone and an oversized Last Stand icon on the Minimap.

Buying saved Builds made from modified Blueprints should now charge the correct price rather than the full original Blueprint cost. Check the displayed Gunsmith purchase amount before buying. This affects DMZ saved Builds, not the general Multiplayer manual-save behaviour described in the Weapon Builds guide.

Breaking New Ground, DMZ’s opening mission, received several fixes too, although Infinity Ward didn’t specify which faults this round addressed. If you’re stuck after the drone or breach sequence, follow our Breaking New Ground walkthrough and check the official issue tracker for anything still open.

Is Search and Destroy’s bomb issue fixed?

No. Infinity Ward rolled back the fix for the stretched bomb model because it prevented bomb pickups from some positions. That original stretching problem is still awaiting a replacement fix, with no date announced. If the bomb interaction looks wrong, try approaching it from another angle and follow the live issue tracker for a proper resolution.

The global fixes also restore launching Black Ops 7 from MW4 for Xbox and PC users with the full Korean language setting. The recent-updates section says DMZ exploits and an issue where some spectators were kicked for inactivity have been addressed. These Modern Warfare 4 October 25 Patch Notes sit above the October 23 and 24 updates on the official patch page. Infinity Ward has not announced specific weapon tuning changes or a date for them.
