The Modern Warfare 4 October 30 patch notes added Infected for Halloween weekend, raised DMZ cash payouts and fixed a collection of Multiplayer and DMZ bugs. The October 30, 2026 update also corrected PC Platinum Camo progress displays, premature inactivity kicks in Search and Destroy and exploits on the Coal map.

Infinity Ward included all these changes in its running launch patch notes. Crucially, the Modern Warfare 4 October 30 patch notes give exact new DMZ cash amounts, something missing from the previous day’s economy announcement. Here’s what changed on October 30 and which fixes belong to October 29 instead.

Infected is now in the Halloween playlist

Infected joined the playlist on October 30, one day after Possession. Each match starts with one Infected player. Whenever they eliminate a Survivor, that player joins the Infected team. The remaining Survivors have to hold out as the number of attackers grows.

Players do not bring their standard classes into the mode. The Infected carry the FSS Carbon Edge Combat Knife, Throwing Knife and Ninja Perk. Survivors receive the Rezi 12 Shotgun with its Enforcer Apex Attachment, a Trip Wire and a Concussion Grenade. Our Infected mode guide explains the rules and loadouts in more detail.

Global fixes: server stability, Platinum Camo and Calling Cards

In the Global section, the Modern Warfare 4 October 30 patch notes confirm three changes:

  • Several causes of server crashes during gameplay have been fixed.
  • PC players should now see Platinum Camo progression for Marksman Rifles displayed properly. This was a progress-display bug, not a change to the camo’s unlock requirements.
  • Multiplayer Lobby Calling Card Challenges now show the challenge name rather than mistakenly showing the reward’s name.

The Platinum fix applies to Marksman Rifles on PC. Infinity Ward also lists a separate Patriot XMR Platinum Camo UI-tracking issue in its earlier known-issues notes, so these should not be treated as the same problem.

Multiplayer fixes: Private Match, Search and Destroy and Coal

The Multiplayer section of the Modern Warfare 4 October 30 patch notes fixes three bugs that could disrupt matches:

  • Switching teams with Auto-Assign before a Private Match began could leave players facing a black screen.
  • Some players were kicked for inactivity prematurely in Search and Destroy.
  • Infinity Ward closed exploits on Coal.

These are separate fixes. The Private Match issue involved the team-change screen, while the Search and Destroy bug affected players being removed too soon. Activision does not give individual locations for the Coal exploits.

Modern Warfare 4 October 30 patch notes: new DMZ cash rewards

DMZ players get the clearest numerical changes in the update. The Modern Warfare 4 October 30 patch notes increase cash rewards for Dynamic Ops, Side Ops and completed Mission Steps as follows:

DMZ activityPrevious cash rewardOctober 30 cash reward
Dynamic Ops5,000 to 10,00010,000 to 20,000
Side Ops5002,000
Mission Steps300 per completed step500 per completed step

That means Dynamic Ops can now pay twice the previous amount at either end of their reward range, Side Ops pay four times as much, and each completed Mission Step pays 200 more Cash. These are in-game DMZ payouts, not Multiplayer XP or real-money currency.

The October 29 patch had already announced higher payouts for Dynamic Ops, Side Ops and Story Mission replays. October 30’s entry is the one that provides the exact Cash figures above. Our DMZ cash guide covers the earlier economy adjustment.

All other DMZ bug fixes

Beyond Cash rewards, the Modern Warfare 4 October 30 patch notes list six DMZ fixes:

  • Broken Resupply: the required item could be missing from the trunk of the marked vehicle.
  • Information Power Order: purchasing Intel from the Boss Board could fail, preventing progress.
  • Hunt Operator: the Dynamic Op timer could be missing and objective text could appear on the in-world marker.
  • Helmet damage: a hit that damaged but did not break a helmet showed a white icon rather than the intended blue armor-damage indicator.
  • FOB shadows: lighting and shadows could shift suddenly as players moved around the base.
  • FOB crashes: repeated knife attacks could cause a crash.

The Broken Resupply and Boss Board corrections are particularly useful for players whose missions were being blocked. The remaining changes tidy up objective information, visual feedback and stability around the FOB.

What changed on October 29 instead?

On October 29, Infinity Ward released Possession as a Halloween mode, increased XP earned across several Multiplayer modes and announced higher DMZ Cash rewards without publishing individual amounts. Those changes are separate from the October 30 list.

October 29 also fixed Free Loadout selection with a full Stash, an out-of-bounds Recon Drone location on Silkworm, distracting effects on Lithium, misleading Concussion Grenade damage indicators, excessive Shipment callouts and exploits on Mumbai. It addressed mission and extraction problems in DMZ too.

There were Calling Card changes on both dates. October 29 fixed completed unlock requirements becoming hidden in the menu; October 30 corrected the challenge name displaying as a reward name. Our October 29 patch notes

Did the October 30 patch change weapon balance or XP?

There are no weapon damage adjustments or new Multiplayer XP figures in the October 30 notes. This update is about the Infected playlist, specific fixes and higher DMZ cash rewards. The XP increases belong to October 29, while earlier launch updates contain the weapon tuning.

Season 1 begins on November 6 and is a separate content launch. Our Season 1 guide covers its maps, weapons and Battle Pass rather than the October 30 fixes.

Modern Warfare 4 October 30 patch notes: key takeaways

For DMZ players, the exact Cash amounts are the biggest news. For Multiplayer, Infected has arrived and the Modern Warfare 4 October 30 patch notes address premature Search and Destroy kicks, Coal exploits and a Private Match black screen. PC players working on Marksman Rifle Platinum Camo should also see their progress displayed correctly.

The patch fixes several mission blockers too, including the missing Broken Resupply item and the Boss Board Intel problem. If one of those has been getting in your way, October 30’s update is the one to look for.
