The Tier 73 CSG-35 blueprint is a later reward, not the first time you can use the SMG. If you want to start levelling the weapon quickly, focus on the free Tier 36 unlock and treat the blueprint as a separate cosmetic configuration.

Activision lists 42 weapon levels, 28 rounds per magazine, 112 reserve rounds and 1,200 RPM. That’s a very fast firing rhythm, but each individual bullet deals relatively modest damage.
The gun is described as strongest inside 20 metres. At longer distances, recoil rises during sustained bursts and becomes harder to control. An early-game loadout should be built around the range you actually fight at, especially if you try to stretch the gun beyond its intended short range.

Activision has announced the Crossfire effect but not an exact attachment unlock tier. You can unlock the base CSG-35 at the stated Battle Pass tier and then check the live Gunsmith progression for its Apex requirement after launch.

Because the CSG-35 empties a 28-round magazine quickly, ammunition management and recoil control should be considerations. The publisher has released the starting specifications, but not the full set of individual attachment effects. The 28-round magazine and high fire rate are the clearest reasons to favour shorter fights.
When can you use it?
The Modern Warfare 4 CSG-35 SMG arrives with Season 1 on November 6 at 5 AM GMT. Earlier Halloween content such as Possession and Infected is pre-season and doesn’t open the CSG-35 Battle Pass tier.
Activision’s roadmap describes the weapon as part of the season’s shared arsenal across Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone. The dedicated Warzone integration roadmap is expected on November 2, ahead of the launch.
CSG-35 versus the Cronen Osprey
The Cronen Osprey is an assault rifle unlocking at free Tier 16. Its rate of fire is 882 RPM, compared with the CSG-35’s 1,200 RPM. The latter is specifically built for close-range engagements.
