Genshin Impact: Best Teams for Hu Tao

After more than a year, Hu Tao has finally made her highly anticipated comeback in Genshin Impact. The 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor is currently featured in one of the limited character banners in Version 3.4 Phase 2.

Best Vaporize Teams for Hu Tao
Vaporize Team is one of the best teams for Hu Tao, and the top Hydro character to create the Vaporize reaction with is the 4-star character Xingqiu. There are other off-field Hydro characters, like the 5-star character Kokomi and the 4-star character Barbara. However, these two can heal well and might ruin Hu Tao’s unique DMG bonus based on lost HP. Therefore, healing-focused Hydro units are definitely NOT recommended.
On the other hand, the 5-star Hydro character Yelan is another great teammate for Hu Tao. However, Yelan has a lower Hydro application than Xingqiu (unless you have C2 Yelan) and this might not be very effective in triggering Elemental Reactions. Although, this doesn’t mean that you can’t use Hu Tao and C0/C1 Yelan together. To help you start out, below are some of the best Vaporize Teams for Hu Tao that you might consider.

Yelan at C0 or C1 is not the best standalone Hydro applicator for Hu Tao, so you might consider having Xingqiu and Yelan together. With this, you can surely trigger Vaporize with two Hydro units consistently. Moreover, you don’t have to worry too much about having very low HP because of Zhongli’s shield.
This team will also let you unlock the Hydro Elemental Resonance and increase your HP by 25%. This will benefit everyone on the team. Hu Tao and Yelan will have a better overall DMG. Xingqiu will have a slightly better 1st Ascension Passive healing, and Zhongli will have better shields.

This is another one of the best teams for Hu Tao because you can unlock the Fervent Flames Pyro Elemental Resonance and increase your ATK by 25%. On the other hand, the role of the Anemo character here is to reduce the enemies’ Pyro resistance by triggering Pyro Swirl (with the Viridescent Venerer artifact set). Your rotation will ideally be (Pyro Support) > (Anemo) > Xingqiu > Hu Tao.
Note that for Yanfei to be a viable support unit, she needs to have her shield unlockable at Constellation 4. Otherwise, you might consider picking other Pyro characters on the list.

While you can surely trigger Vaporize with this team, having two useful Elemental Resonances also makes this one of the best teams for Hu Tao. With this team composition, you can unlock the Pyro and Hydro Elemental Resonances which will increase your ATK and Max HP by 25%.
The HP increase is beneficial for everyone on the team. Of course, this is a great buff for the HP-scaling Hu Tao. On the other hand, Xingqiu can increase his 1st Ascension Passive healing and Yelan can increase her overall DMG. Lastly, if you choose C4 Yanfei or Thoma, having more HP means better shield strength.

Burgeon Team
Hu Tao was released back when the Dendro element was not playable yet. If you want Dendro-related teams for Hu Tao, we recommend Burgeon. For the off-field Dendro characters, the 5-star unit Nahida is the best option. However, if you don’t have her, you can opt for the Dendro Traveler.
You can use two Hydro units in this team to lessen the possibility of triggering Burning. However, you might also choose to bring one shielder instead for protection. Lastly, you will need to build Elemental Mastery for Hu Tao to increase her Burgeon DMG.
