Genshin Impact Nahida Build Guide: Weapons, Artifact Sets, Roles, Teams, Constellations, and more

Genshin Impact - Nahida Build Guide

Nahida is a playable 5-star Dendro character in Genshin Impact. She is the vessel of Lesser Lord Kusanali, the current Dendro Archon, and the youngest among The Seven.

However, while she is the current Dendro Archon, the sages from the Sumeru Akademiya appear to hold her in low regard and have kept her inside the Sanctuary of Surasthana since her birth. Because of this isolation, people know little about her. Despite this, Nahida, or Lesser Lord Kusanali, has watched over Sumeru through the Akasha Terminal and, unknown to most people, was actually the one who saved Aaru Village from an earthquake.

This guide will discuss Nahida‘s talents, constellations, recommended roles, best weapons, artifact sets, and more! So, if you want to add this character to your team, feel free to read on.

Nahida’s Talents and Priority

Nahida’s Elemental Skill (All Scheme’s to Know) is undeniably the most integral part of her kit regardless of your playstyle. This skill marks and links enemies with the Seed of Skandha for up to 25 seconds. This allows her to periodically deal damage to these enemies whenever Elemental Reactions are triggered on them or whenever they get hit by Dendro Cores, including those that explode from Burgeon and Hyperbloom.

Moreover, this periodic damage can be triggered even when Nahida is not on-field, making it possible for her to be an off-field character.

The effects of this Elemental Skill are further increased by her Elemental Burst (Illusory Heart) depending on her teammates’ Elemental Types. With the 1st Ascension Passive, she can provide support to the entire team by increasing everyone’s Elemental Mastery. With the 4th Ascension Passive, her own Elemental Mastery beyond 200 can increase her DMG and CRIT Rate.

Lastly, she is an amazing unit for exploration, especially if you’re trying to farm harvestable items, as she can pick them from a distance, making it relatively easier to farm plants such as the Kalpalata Lotus, which can be used for her ascension. On the other hand, she can read people’s minds!

Depending on how you build her, we recommend that you prioritize her Talents in the following order:

As Main DPSAs Sub-DPS/Support
1st priority(All are of equal importance)Elemental Skill
2nd priority(All are of equal importance)Elemental Burst
3rd priority(All are of equal importance)Normal Attack (not necessary)

For more details about her Talents, check out the table below:

Normal Attack – AkaraNormal Attack
Performs up to 4 attacks that deal Dendro DMG to opponents in front of her.

Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to deal AoE Dendro DMG to opponents in front of her after a short casting time.

Plunging Attack
Calling upon the might of Dendro, Nahida plunges toward the ground from mid-air, damaging all opponents in her path. Deals AoE Dendro DMG upon impact with the ground.
Elemental Skill – All Schemes to KnowSends forth karmic bonds of wood and tree from her side, dealing AoE Dendro DMG and marking up to 8 opponents hit with the Seed of Skandha.

When held, this skill will trigger differently.

Hold
Enters Aiming Mode, which will allow you to select a limited number of opponents within a limited area. During this time, Nahida’s resistance to interruption will be increased.

When released, this skill deals Dendro DMG to these opponents and marks them with the Seed of Skandha.

Aiming Mode will last up to 5s and can select a maximum of 8 opponents.

Seed of Skandha
Opponents who the Seed of Skandha has marked will be linked to one another up until a certain distance.

After you trigger Elemental Reactions on opponents who are affected by the Seeds of Skandha or when they take DMG from Dendro Cores (including Burgeon and Hyperbloom DMG), Nahida will unleash Tri-Karma Purification on the opponents and all connected opponents, dealing Dendro DMG based on her ATK and Elemental Mastery.

You can trigger at most 1 Tri-Karma Purification within a short period of time.
Elemental Burst – Illusory HeartManifests the Court of Dreams and expands the Shrine of Maya.

When the Shrine of Maya field is unleashed, the following effects will be separately unleashed based on the Elemental Types present within the party.

Pyro: While Nahida remains within the Shrine of Maya, the DMG dealt by Tri-Karma Purification from “All Schemes to Know” is increased.

Electro: While Nahida remains within the Shrine of Maya, the interval between each Tri-Karma Purification from “All Schemes to Know” is decreased.

Hydro: The Shrine of Maya’s duration is increased.

If there are at least 2 party members of the aforementioned Elemental Types present when the field is deployed, the aforementioned effects will be increased further.

Even if Nahida is not on the field, these bonuses will still take effect so long as party members are within the Shrine of Maya.
1st Ascension Passive – Compassion IlluminatedWhen unleashing Illusory Heart, the Shrine of Maya will gain the following effects:

The Elemental Mastery of the active character within the field will be increased by 25% of the Elemental Mastery of the party member with the highest Elemental Mastery.

You can gain a maximum of 250 Elemental Mastery in this manner.
4th Ascension Passive – Awakening ElucidatedEach point of Nahida’s Elemental Mastery beyond 200 will grant 0.1% Bonus DMG and 0.03% CRIT Rate to Tri-Karma Purification from All Schemes to Know.

A maximum of 80% Bonus DMG and 24% CRIT Rate can be granted to Tri-Karma Purification in this manner.
Utility Passive – On All Things MeditatedNahida can use All Schemes to Know to interact with some harvestable items within a fixed AoE. This skill may even have some other effects…

Constellations and Effects

Even without any constellations (C0), Nahida has proven herself to be an Archon character, as she can already contribute a lot to teams that utilize Dendro Elemental Reactions. However, if you wish to enhance her capabilities further without necessarily reaching C6, our recommendation is for you to stop at C2 for now.

This constellation (C2) allows any Dendro-related reaction DMG to CRIT! On the other hand, while Aggravate and Spread can already deal CRIT DMG, having these reactions (including Quicken) will decrease enemies’ DEF.

LEVELNAMEEFFECT
1The Seed of Stored KnowledgeWhen the Shrine of Maya is unleashed, and the Elemental Types of the party members are being tabulated, the count will add 1 to the number of Pyro, Electro, and Hydro characters, respectively.
2The Root of All FullnessOpponents that are marked by Seeds of Skandha applied by Nahida herself will be affected by the following effects:

– Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon Reaction DMG can score CRIT Hits. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG are fixed at 20% and 100%, respectively.
– Within 8s of being affected by Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, DEF is decreased by 30%.
3The Shoot of Conscious AttainmentIncreases the Level of All Schemes to Know by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
4The Stem of Manifest InferenceWhen 1/2/3/(4 or more) nearby opponents are affected by All Schemes to Know’s Seeds of Skandha, Nahida’s Elemental Mastery will be increased by 100/120/140/160.
5The Leaves of Enlightening SpeechIncreases the Level of Illusory Heart by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
6The Fruit of Reason’s CulminationWhen Nahida hits an opponent affected by All Schemes to Know’s Seeds of Skandha with Normal or Charged Attacks after unleashing Illusory Heart, she will use Tri-Karma Purification: Karmic Oblivion on this opponent and all connected opponents, dealing Dendro DMG based on 200% of Nahida’s ATK and 400% of her Elemental Mastery.

DMG dealt by Tri-Karma Purification: Karmic Oblivion is considered Elemental Skill DMG and can be triggered once every 0.2s.

This effect can last up to 10s and will be removed after Nahida has unleashed 6 instances of Tri-Karma Purification: Karmic Oblivion.

Recommended Roles and Teams for Nahida

Nahida is quite flexible in teams that require a Dendro Unit. She can be the Main DPS of the team and stay on-field most of the time or be a Sub-DPS and provide off-field damage and support. In fact, we have a separate article with a list of Nahida’s best teams here, ranging from Bloom Teams to Catalyze Teams.

However, in this article, we would like to specifically mention that the duration of Nahida’s Seed of Skandha from her Elemental Skill is something that a unit like Cyno definitely needs. It can be recalled that when Cyno was released, no off-field Dendro unit could match the max duration of his Burst. The arrival of Nahida changes this, bringing out Cyno’s full potential. Therefore, one of the best teams for Nahida is with Cyno, utilizing the Catalyze or Quicken reactions and focusing on Aggravate.

CATALYZE OR QUICKEN TEAM (Focus on Aggravate)

MAIN DPSSUB-DPSSUB-DPSSUPPORT
Cyno or the Raiden ShogunNahidaFischl, Yae Miko, or Dori/Shinobu (if you need a healer)Zhongli or Kazuha
  • In this team, Nahida is the best off-field Dendro character to be paired with Cyno since her Seed of Skandha lasts 25 seconds, more than enough of what Cyno needs.
  • Cyno has quite a high Energy Cost. Therefore, you might consider bringing another Electro character for the Electro Elemental Resonance. If you don’t want to rely heavily on Cyno‘s damage output and want to have an off-field character with decent damage, Fischl and Yae Miko can do the job. If you want an Electro healer, you have Shinobu and Dori as your options.
  • For more defensive gameplay, the last slot may go to a shielder who won’t mess up your Aggravate-focused play style. Of course, Zhongli is the best for this slot. For more offensive gameplay, you may use Kazuha or another Anemo support with a 4-piece Viridescent Venerer to reduce enemies’ Elemental RES.

To learn more about Cyno, we highly recommend that you check out the Cyno Build Guide here.

BLOOM TEAM WITH NILOU (Bountiful Cores)

Nahida can also be the Main DPS for a Bloom Team with Nilou (Note that either of the two can be your Main DPS).

MAIN DPSSUB-DPSSUB-DPSHEALER/SUPPORT
NahidaNilouYelan or XingqiuKokomi or Barbara
  • As you must already know, Nilou has a niche ascension passive that works only if the team consists of Hydro and Dendro units. Nahida can utilize this passive and trigger Bloom to produce Bountiful Cores. Moreover, Nahida can take advantage of the EM boost that Nilou provides.
  • However, since the explosion of several Bountiful Cores can be fatal to Nahida (a character that doesn’t benefit from having more HP), it is a must to have a Hydro healer such as Kokomi or Barbara. There are currently no Hydro shielders, so these two are your only options if you wish to activate Nilou’s Dendro-Hydro-only passive.
  • Lastly, you will need another Hydro Sub-DPS that deals off-field Hydro DMG. Yelan is arguably the best fit for this role, but you may also use Xingqiu.

Recommended Weapons for Nahida

Nahida’s BiS (best-in-slot) weapon is her signature weapon A Thousand Floating Dreams, as it is suitable for her either as a Main DPS or Sub-DPS. Moreover, it has supportive capabilities! However, there are a lot of other great options if you don’t have this weapon. You can also check out our insights for each weapon below the table for more information.

A Thousand Floating Dreams

This weapon is Nahida’s signature weapon. Thus, it only follows that this is designed to match her playstyle and is easily her BiS (best-in-slot). A Thousand Floating Dreams does not only focus on increasing the equipping character’s damage potential; it also provides support for the team by increasing other members’ EM. However, since this is a 5-star weapon, it can only be acquired via the limited weapon banner. Learn more about A Thousand Floating Dreams here.

Solar Pearl

Solar Pearl is one of those catalysts that are clearly designed for characters who need to stay on the field for a long time. Its passive skill will increase your character’s Elemental Skill and Burst if their Normal ATKs hit enemies. On the other hand, your character’s Normal ATK DMG will be increased when that character’s Skill or Burst hits enemies. Therefore, this is one of the best weapons for Nahida if you play her as a Main DPS. While her Burst doesn’t deal any damage, she can easily trigger the weapon’s passive using her Elemental Skill, which only has a 6-second CD when held. Learn more about Solar Pearl here.

Sacrificial Fragments

While Sacrificial Fragments is only second best in terms of bonus Elemental Mastery among all catalysts, it is significantly more accessible than the one that takes the first spot (A Thousand Floating Dreams), as you can get this from standard wishes. This makes Sacrificial Fragments a solid free-to-play option. Moreover, it has a decent ATK stat and a passive skill that allows Nahida to spam her Elemental Skill.

Magic Guide

With the right teammates, it will be easy for Nahida to trigger the passive skill of this weapon, increasing her DMG to as much as 24% (at max refinement) against enemies affected by Hydro or Electro. Take note, however, that since this is a 3-star weapon, it has a pretty low ATK, which means that this is not one of the best weapons for Nahida if you play her as an on-field DPS. Instead, Magic Guide is viable if you use Nahida as an off-field character focused on triggering Elemental Reactions. Learn more about Magic Guide here.

Recommended Artifact Sets and Stat Priority for Nahida

Below are our recommended artifact sets for Nahida:

ARTIFACT SETEFFECTS
Deepwood Memories x4– Dendro DMG Bonus +15%
– After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets’ Dendro RES will be decreased by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.
Gilded Dreams x4– Elemental Mastery +80
– Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members, ATK is increased by 14% for each party member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and Elemental Mastery is increased by 50 for every party member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the aforementioned buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field.
Wanderer’s Troupe x 2
Gilded Dreams x2
– Elemental Mastery +80
– Elemental Mastery +80

Our top artifact set recommendation is Deepwood Memories x4, as it increases Nahida’s Dendro DMG while reducing enemies’ Dendro RES. However, if you’re running her with another Dendro unit that uses this set, note that the RES decrease will not stack. If this is the case, you might want to consider another artifact set.

Our second recommendation is the Gilded Dreams x4 set, as it increases both her EM and ATK stats even when you use her as an off-field unit.

However, if you don’t have decent pieces for the artifact sets mentioned above, you can go for Wanderer’s Troupe x 2 and Gilded Dreams x2.

Genshin Impact - Nahida Build Guide - Artifact Set

As for her artifact main stat priority, we recommend the following:

  • Sands â€“ Elemental Mastery
  • Goblet â€“ Dendro DMG for on-field role or Elemental Mastery for an off-field role
  • Circlet â€“ CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG (depending on what you need) or more Elemental Mastery

Be on the lookout for the following substats: EM, CRIT, ER (as needed), and ATK%.

Note that the ideal Energy Recharge (ER) for an on-field Nahida is around 100-130%. On the other hand, an off-field Nahida should ideally have 130-160%.
