Genshin Impact: Yelan’s Ascension Materials and their locations
Yelan is a 5-star Hydro character in Genshin Impact. Full of mystery and a “person with many different faces,” she is the owner of the Yanshang Tea House in Liyue. In the shadows, she works as a special intelligence officer who reports to Ningguang.
You might have been waiting for Yelan to have her banner rerun. Well, the wait is almost over, as she will be coming back in the second phase of Version 3.4.

VARUNADA LAZURITE GEMS
This group of gems is used for ascending Hydro characters. You can obtain them primarily by fighting Normal Bosses and Weekly Bosses.

If you’re new to the game, you can craft higher rarity gems or convert one gem into another via Alchemy. You can do this by interacting with the crafting benches in the different cities in Teyvat.
RUNIC FANG
This Character Ascension Material is dropped by the Normal Boss Lv 30+ Ruin Serpent. However, this Normal Boss does NOT drop Varunada Lazurite. Therefore, in case you need more Varunada Lazurite gems, you might consider converting the gems you get from this boss via Alchemy.
Below is the location of the Ruin Serpent. Note that this Normal Boss is located in the Serpent’s Cave of The Chasm: Underground Mines.
STARCONCH
This material is a Local Specialty in Liyue and can, therefore, only be found in said region. For more specific locations (including shops that sell Starconch), be sure to check out our Starconch Location Guide here.
INSIGNIA
These items are dropped by Fatui Skirmishers all over Teyvat. Suppose you’re running low on these materials and are unsure where to find some Fatui Skirmishers. In that case, you can check the enemy’s location by going to the Paimon Menu > Adventurer Handbook > Enemies > Fatui Skirmishers > Navigate.
You can also craft higher rarity Fatui Skirmisher drops via Alchemy or get some from the Stardust Exchange.

Yelan’s Talent Level-Up Materials
Yelan‘s talent “books” or Talent Ascension Materials are the Prosperity Books. This set can be obtained by challenging the Taishan Mansion domain on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. This is located near Jueyun Karst in Liyue.
You can also craft higher rarity Prosperity books via Alchemy.
Beyond Level 6 of Yelan’s Talents, she will need the Talent Level-up Material called Gilded Scale, which can be obtained from “Beneath the Dragon-Queller,” a domain where you can fight Azhdaha.
