The Pokémon GO PokéXciting Event is bringing Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations to five cities across the Asia-Pacific region, beginning in Kuala Lumpur in September 2026 and continuing into February 2027.
PokéXciting! is much more than a standard weekend event. Each stop will feature a region-exclusive PokéXciting! Pikachu costume, a GO Stamp Rally, free Timed Research, event Field Research, special wild encounters, Incense and Lure Module spawns, bonuses and Gigantamax Battles.
The celebrations will take place across Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, Manila and Bangkok, with each city receiving its own two-day event.

PokéXciting! Pikachu Makes Its Pokémon GO Debut
The biggest new Pokémon encounter during the Pokémon GO PokéXciting Event is PokéXciting! Pikachu.
PokéXciting! Pikachu will make its debut during the anniversary tour, with a different costume color available in each participating region. Each costume has been designed to reflect its local region, making the five event locations particularly important for collectors.
The regional PokéXciting! Pikachu will not disappear as soon as the two-day celebration ends.
Each city’s exclusive version will continue appearing as a wild encounter in that city for one month after its local event concludes.
That gives Trainers considerably longer to catch the local Pikachu costume than the main event weekend itself.
PokéXciting! Pikachu can also be Shiny.

Pokémon GO PokéXciting GO Stamp Rally
A GO Stamp Rally will be available during the event.
Trainers can open Pokémon GO during event hours and visit designated PokéStops around the event venue to collect stamps.
Collecting five stamps will reward an encounter with PokéXciting! Pikachu featuring a Location Background.
The local GO Stamp Rally will remain available in each city for one month after the local event begins, giving players additional time to complete the collection even after the main two-day celebration.
Pokémon GO PokéXciting Timed Research
Two free Timed Research opportunities will be available during PokéXciting!.
Rewards will include:
- Encounters with PokéXciting! Pikachu
- Premium Battle Pass
- Event sticker
- Additional rewards
The full Timed Research tasks and complete reward lists have not yet been announced.
Pokémon GO PokéXciting Field Research
Event-themed Field Research tasks will also be available during the Pokémon GO PokéXciting Event.
Specific Field Research tasks and rewards have not yet been revealed.
More details should become available as the first PokéXciting! celebration in Kuala Lumpur approaches.
Pokémon GO PokéXciting Wild Encounters
A large selection of Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild during PokéXciting!, including several costume Pokémon.

Pokémon GO PokéXciting Incense Encounters
Incense will attract starter Pokémon from several generations alongside city-exclusive Unown encounters.
The following starter Pokémon will be available through Incense:
- Turtwig
- Chimchar
- Piplup

- Oshawott
- Chespin
- Fennekin
- Froakie
All of these Pokémon can potentially be encountered as Shiny Pokémon.

Each PokéXciting! location will also receive two Unown letters through Incense.
| Location | Unown |

| Singapore | Unown S and Unown G |
| Manila | Unown P and Unown H |
| Bangkok | Unown T and Unown H |
Each of the announced Unown forms can potentially be Shiny.
This makes the individual PokéXciting! locations significantly different for Unown collectors, as visiting one city will not provide access to every letter appearing throughout the tour.
Pokémon GO PokéXciting Event Bonuses
Several additional bonuses will run during the event.
Trainers will receive five surprise encounters through GO Snapshot each day.
Bonus balloons will also appear once every hour throughout the event, providing additional supplies and rewards while playing.

Three original partner Pokémon will headline Gigantamax Battles during the Pokémon GO PokéXciting Event.
| Gigantamax Pokémon | Shiny Available? |
|---|---|
| Gigantamax Venusaur | Yes |
| Gigantamax Charizard | Yes |
| Gigantamax Blastoise | Yes |
Gigantamax Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise can all potentially be encountered as Shiny Pokémon after being defeated.
Their appearance also fits the wider Pokémon 30th anniversary theme, with all three originating from the original Kanto partner Pokémon lineup.
How Long Does PokéXciting! Last?
The main celebration lasts for two days in each city, but several Pokémon GO PokéXciting Event features continue beyond the event weekend.
The region-exclusive PokéXciting! Pikachu remains available as a wild encounter in its respective city for one month after that city’s event concludes.
The local GO Stamp Rally also lasts for one month after the event begins.
That means players visiting one of the participating cities shortly after the main celebration may still be able to collect its exclusive Pikachu and complete the local Stamp Rally even if they missed the two-day event itself.
Kuala Lumpur will host the first PokéXciting! celebration on September 12 and September 13, 2026, followed by Taipei in October, Singapore in November, Manila in January 2027 and Bangkok in February 2027.
