The Xbox X25 controller UK price is £74.99, and the 25th anniversary wireless controller launched on 20 October 2026. It is sold separately from the Xbox Series X25 console, so you can buy the translucent green pad without paying £759.99 for the complete anniversary collection.
It has the look of the original Xbox, from the coloured ABXY buttons to the transparent battery cover, but it is still a modern Xbox Wireless Controller. Microsoft’s UK listing was showing out of stock on 1 November, so the price is confirmed even if you cannot currently order one directly.
Xbox X25 controller UK price and release date
Microsoft charges £74.99 including VAT for the standalone Special Edition controller. Xbox Wire gives 20 October 2026 as its launch date, while the UK product page displays a timestamp of 19 October at 23:00. The Xbox announcement is the clearer source for the public release date.
The Xbox X25 controller UK price does not include Halo: Campaign Evolved, the green Series X25 console or its individually engraved case. Those extras belong to the full console collection. Check the item name on a retailer’s listing if you are shopping for one or the other.
Can you use the X25 controller with a regular Xbox?
Yes. The X25 controller works with Xbox Series X and Series S over Xbox Wireless. Microsoft also lists Bluetooth support for compatible Windows 10/11 PCs, tablets, Android and iOS devices. You do not need an anniversary console, and it can be used with the normal Series X.
Bluetooth support varies by device and operating-system version, and some controller features may not be available everywhere. Button remapping is supported through the Xbox Accessories app on compatible Xbox and Windows setups. On Windows, the app may require a separate USB-C cable.
For the Xbox X25 controller UK price, that means you are buying a regular, broadly compatible Xbox controller in a special finish, rather than a controller that unlocks exclusive games or works only with one console.
What makes the X25 controller different?
The clear OG Green body is a nod to the first Xbox. Microsoft has used original-style colours for the A, B, X and Y buttons, while the bumpers pay tribute to the black and white buttons on the old Duke controller. The transparent back case and battery door reveal a classic Xbox logo.
The Xbox button has its own design inspired by the original green X. That is a cosmetic detail, not proof of a new built-in battery, extra rear paddles or Hall-effect joysticks. Microsoft markets this as a Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controller rather than an Elite or performance-focused pad.
Does the X25 controller need batteries?
Yes. Microsoft lists AA batteries and says they can deliver up to 40 hours under its test conditions. Actual life varies with headsets, accessories and use. A built-in rechargeable battery is not advertised as an X25 feature.
Allow for replacement batteries or a compatible rechargeable solution if that matters to you. The Xbox X25 controller UK price should not be mistaken for a package that automatically includes a rechargeable pack and USB-C charging cable.

Is the controller worth £74.99?
That depends on whether you love the anniversary look. If you just need a controller to play games, a standard Xbox Wireless Controller may cost less. The separately marketed £44.99 Xbox Nano Controller is another alternative, but it targets a different, more compact design.
If you do want the translucent green case, the Xbox X25 controller UK price is a much cheaper way to enjoy the anniversary styling than buying a second Series X. Its controls and wireless compatibility also make it useful outside a collector’s display.
Microsoft was showing the controller as out of stock on 1 November, and it has not confirmed a new UK restock date in the sources checked. Look at current stock and final checkout prices before paying above retail. The Xbox X25 controller UK price remains £74.99 at Microsoft, whether a reseller lists it higher or not.
