The Xbox Nano Controller UK price is £44.99 including VAT. Microsoft lists the release for Wednesday, 4 November 2026 at 00:00 UK time, and preorders are open now. This is the company’s smallest Xbox controller, but it keeps all 18 standard gameplay inputs rather than losing buttons to fit its compact shape.
If a regular Xbox pad feels too big, or you want something easier to slip into a bag, the Nano is worth a look. It has a rechargeable battery, Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth connections, plus a programmable Action Button. There are a few things to check before ordering, though, especially which devices it supports and the charging cable you’ll need.

How does the Xbox Nano compare with a standard Xbox controller?
Just over five inches long and weighing 3.5 ounces, the Nano is Microsoft’s smallest Xbox controller. It’s designed for smaller hands, but the lighter, shorter shape is also handy if you want a spare pad or something to take on trips.
Microsoft says it retains all 18 standard gameplay inputs, including two thumbsticks, the D-pad, face buttons and triggers. It’s the familiar Xbox layout in a smaller shell, with the thumbsticks, D-pad, buttons and triggers still where players expect them. The shorter grips could be more comfortable for smaller hands.
Xbox Nano Controller compatibility on consoles, PC and mobile
The official compatibility list covers Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and 11, Android and iOS. It connects to Xbox consoles through Xbox Wireless, while Bluetooth is available for supported PCs, phones, tablets and compatible smart TVs. Microsoft notes that mobile and Bluetooth features can vary by device and software version.
The game still needs to accept controller input, and the phone, tablet or TV must support Bluetooth controllers. Nintendo Switch and PlayStation do not appear on Microsoft’s compatibility list.

Battery, USB-C cable and programmable Action Button
The Nano uses an internal rechargeable battery and needs a USB-C cable for charging. Microsoft says the cable is sold separately, so make sure you have one. That’s different from the standard Xbox Wireless Controller’s replaceable AA batteries: you recharge the Nano rather than swapping batteries when it runs low.
Microsoft doesn’t give a fixed number of hours per charge. Battery life depends on how you play and which accessories you connect, so there’s no official runtime figure to compare with another controller.
The extra Action Button can be programmed for shortcuts, including screenshots and gameplay clips. Button mapping is available through the Xbox Accessories app on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10/11. For Windows setup, Microsoft says you’ll need a compatible USB-C cable, which is also sold separately.
Is the Xbox Nano suitable for Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Yes. The Nano connects over Bluetooth to supported phones, tablets and compatible smart TVs, where you can use it with cloud games that accept controller input. The £44.99 purchase is for the controller, not a subscription or game library.
Microsoft’s store says Xbox Cloud Gaming requires an eligible Game Pass subscription and supported device; PC Game Pass alone does not include Xbox Cloud Gaming. What does the Xbox Nano Controller UK price cover?
The regular UK purchase does not include Game Pass. Xbox’s announcement describes two-month Game Pass Ultimate offers for new members buying selected Samsung TVs or Meta Quest hardware, but those promotions are for the United States, not UK Nano preorders.
The Xbox Nano Controller UK price covers the controller itself. If you also want Game Pass, choose a subscription separately based on the games and cloud features you’ll use. Our Game Pass games guide covers the recent catalogue additions.
Is the Xbox Nano worth £44.99?
If you find a standard Xbox controller too large, or want a lightweight spare for family games, the Nano gives you the familiar buttons in a smaller shell. If you prefer wider grips, particularly for long sessions, the regular controller may be more comfortable.
At £44.99 including VAT, the Xbox Nano Controller UK price is lower than Microsoft’s standard Wireless Controller’s regular £59.99 starting price, although discounts can narrow the gap. If size matters most, the Nano offers a familiar layout, an internal rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button for less.
