Throne and Liberty Skill Core Rework: Slots, Presets and November 10 Changes

Throne and Liberty Skill Core Rework arrives with the November 10, 2026 update, replacing the old system of engraving Skill Cores onto equipment. Instead, players register Skill Cores to their character and equip them through dedicated slots in the Skills menu.

Registered cores can be equipped or removed without a fee, and Skill Core Presets allow players to swap combinations for different fights. The update also changes Archboss core rewards and how existing engraved cores are returned.

Skill Cores move out of equipment engraving and into a separate system. Use a Skill Core item to register that Core to your character, then manage it through Skills > Skill Cores. Engraving and extraction are being removed.

The Throne and Liberty Skill Core Rework is scheduled for November 10, not already part of October 26 Update 4.18.0. Players planning builds before maintenance should distinguish the upcoming system from the effects and tooltip corrections that already landed in 4.18.0.

How to Equip and Remove Skill Cores

After the update, open Skills > Skill Cores, choose a registered Core and equip it in an available slot. You can remove and re-equip registered Cores at no cost, making it easier to change a build without repeating an engraving process.

A registered Core only takes effect when you’re holding a Heroic weapon in its matching category. Equip the appropriate weapon before expecting the Core’s effect to work.

How Skill Core Presets Work

Skill Core Presets are new saved combinations designed for different combat situations. Once the rework launches, players can arrange registered Cores and switch presets rather than rebuilding the same selection manually each time.

This expands build flexibility alongside existing Skills and Equipment Presets. Presets make switching builds easier, but your available slots and equipped Heroic weapons still determine which Core effects are active.

Throne and Liberty Skill Core Rework: What Happens to Engraved Cores?

Skill Cores currently equipped to Heroic gear will be removed and delivered by Mail. Players should check the mailbox after November 10 rather than expecting every Core to remain attached to the old item.

Archboss-family Skill Cores are reclaimed separately, and the original equipment associated with each core is delivered by Mail. That delivered equipment is untradeable. The Throne and Liberty Skill Core Rework converts ownership rather than leaving old engraving recipes in circulation.

Eligible Archboss weapons will provide their Skill Cores through acquisition-achievement rewards. If a character owns the applicable weapon or receives it through the conversion, the matching achievement and Core registration are updated automatically.

The achievement is treated as already claimed. Crafting recipes involving existing Archboss Skill Cores and related recipes will be removed. There is no reason to assume players must complete an additional achievement manually to register a qualifying weapon they already own.

Throne and Liberty Skill Core Rework: Which Old Materials Are Being Removed?

Skill Core Imprint and Extraction Scrolls will stop being crafted, sold or supplied. Existing Imprint Scrolls turn into 1,220,000 Sollant each. Extraction Scrolls convert into materials and Sollant, delivered through in-game Mail.

The Throne and Liberty Skill Core Rework also removes Core engraving and extraction while leaving Stat Conversion available. That distinction matters: a scroll being discontinued does not mean all equipment stat conversion options disappear on November 10.

What to Check After Maintenance

Once the November 10 service transition and update finish, accept NC’s new terms, check your Mail for returned Cores or Archboss equipment and open Skills > Skill Cores to see your registered collection. Then set up your new presets for preferred weapon combinations.

The Throne and Liberty Skill Core Rework is separate from the announced reset of certain HUD, chat and general settings changed after October 26. Your existing Skill and Equipment Presets are excluded from that particular settings reset, but the new Skill Core Presets are part of the upcoming feature.
