Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing: How to Fly and Avoid Damage

Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing is an accessibility option that lets you fly, avoid damage, defeat enemies and collect rewards in supported stages. Ubisoft confirms it can be turned on through the settings menu and then activated during play using L2 on PlayStation, LT on Xbox or ZL on Switch by default. There is no usage limit.

Betilla can offer Fairy Blessing after you’ve died repeatedly at the same checkpoint. You can accept the help, decline it for now or refuse further offers during that playthrough. You can also enable the power directly in Settings or by speaking to Betilla.

To use Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing, enable it through Settings or Betilla. In a supported stage, press L2 on PS5, LT on Xbox or ZL on Switch 2 to invoke it. Press again to switch the effect off. These are the default controls.

The game also supports control remapping, so your active input could be different if you’ve changed the controls. On PC, use your assigned button from the controller or keyboard mapping rather than assuming a console trigger is the only option.

What does Fairy Blessing do?

When Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing is active, Ubisoft says Rayman becomes invulnerable to damage and can fly, including through breakable obstacles. You can still defeat enemies, pick up rewards and interact with the environment. It’s an optional way to tackle a troublesome part of the game, not a separate difficulty mode that removes collecting.

The publisher also says Fairy Blessing can revive your character and floating allies. That matters in couch co-op when someone falls behind or loses a life: the other players can keep moving while the affected player rejoins the group.

Does Fairy Blessing have a cooldown or usage limit?

The Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing has no usage limit. You can toggle it on for a difficult section and off again when you want normal movement and damage. Ubisoft doesn’t require a separate item or consumable to activate it.

One unusual interaction concerns the Land of the Livid Dead. Ubisoft explains that Fairy Blessing replaces the use of Fairy Radiance when colliding with corrupted elements there. That means the assist changes how you interact with certain hazards, not only how much damage you take.

Where is Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing disabled?

Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing is unavailable in hubs, Kung Foot Evo and all Cave of Trials challenges. Ubisoft keeps the competitive modes separate because scores and player performance are central to their design. If you press the usual Fairy Blessing button in one of those modes and nothing happens, that restriction is expected.

Fairy Blessing is intended for the regular platforming adventure, where players can use flight to move past troublesome obstacles. In Kung Foot Evo and Cave of Trials, it stays disabled to preserve the competitive challenges.

Fairy Blessing versus Red Heart and Golden Heart

If you’d rather make the game easier without using Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing, try the health modifiers. Red Heart protects against one eligible hit and Golden Heart against two, with Golden Heart becoming Red Heart after the first. Neither stops falling into pits or being crushed by level objects.

Highlights and High Contrast Mode can also help spot interactive objects, enemies and hidden rewards against the new 3D environments. You can turn each category on separately, so an easier-to-read stage doesn’t require automatic flight or invulnerability.

Does Fairy Blessing work in local co-op?

Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing can be customised in co-op, and the game’s accessibility settings can be configured independently. See our four-player setup guide for multiplayer and our collectibles guide for finding rewards with Highlights.

The Rayman Legends Retold Fairy Blessing option will be available in the 3 December release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC. See our release and editions guide for the platforms and UK prices.
