Genshin Impact Faruzan Build Guide: Weapons, Artifact Sets, Roles, Teams, Constellations, and more

Genshin Impact - Faruzan Build Guide and Team Recommendations

Last Updated on: 14th December 2022, 08:37 am

Faruzan is a playable 4-star Anemo character in Genshin Impact. Despite her youthful appearance, she is at least a hundred years old and is currently a professor at the Sumeru Akademiya.

This appearance has something to do with what happened to her in the past. Exposed to the remnants of the Scarlet King’s power in the deserts of Sumeru at some point, she mysteriously stopped aging and disappeared for years.

This guide will discuss Faruzan’s talents, constellations, recommended roles, best weapons, artifact sets, and more! So, if you want to add this character to your team, feel free to read on.

Faruzan’s Talents and Priority

The 4-star bow users Kujou Sara and Gorou have niche team compositions (Electro and DEF Geo teams, respectively) where they excel at providing support. Faruzan is undeniably the support unit designed for an Anemo DPS.

Her Elemental Burst not only decreases the Anemo RES of opponents she hits, but it also buffs the Anemo DMG bonus of all nearby party members. On top of these, with her 4th ascension passive, party members who deal Anemo DMG while under this buff will also have their DMG increased based on Faruzan’s Base ATK!

As for Faruzan’s Elemental Skill, it doesn’t technically have supportive properties at C0 (no constellation). However, her Elemental SKill and Charged ATK combo cause a minor crowd control, which is decent for staggering smaller enemies. At C4, she can contribute some Energy Regeneration with her Elemental Skill’s Pressurized Collapse. You can check out her constellations after this section.

With this, we recommend prioritizing Faruzan’s Talents in the following order:

  • 1st priority – Elemental Burst
  • 2nd priority – Elemental Skill
  • 3rd priority – Normal Attack

For more details about her Talents, check out the table below:

Normal Attack – Parthian ShotNormal Attack
Perform up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.

Charged Attack
Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.
While aiming, mighty winds will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged wind arrow will deal Anemo DMG.

Plunging Attack
Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, hitting opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental Skill – Wind Realm of NasamjninFaruzan deploys a polyhedron that deals AoE Anemo DMG to nearby opponents. She will also enter the Manifest Gale state.

While in the Manifest Gale state, Faruzan’s next fully charged shot will consume this state and will become a Hurricane Arrow that contains high-pressure currents. This arrow deals Anemo DMG based on the DMG of a fully charged Aimed Shot from “Normal Attack: Parthian Shot.”

Pressurized Collapse
The Hurricane Arrow will apply a Pressurized Collapse effect to the opponent or character hit. This effect will be removed after a short delay, creating a vortex that deals AoE Anemo DMG and pulls nearby objects and opponents in. If the Hurricane Arrow does not hit any opponent or character, it will create a Pressurized Collapse effect at its point of impact.
The vortex DMG is considered Elemental Skill DMG.
Elemental Burst – The Wind’s Secret WaysFaruzan deploys a Dazzling Polyhedron that unleashes a Whirlwind Pulse and deals AoE Anemo DMG.

While the Dazzling Polyhedron persists, it will continuously move along a triangular path. Once it reaches each corner of that triangular path, it will unleash 1 more Whirlwind Pulse.

Whirlwind Pulse
– When the Whirlwind Pulse is unleashed, it will apply Perfidious Wind’s Bale to nearby opponents, decreasing their Anemo RES.
– The Whirlwind Pulse will also apply Prayerful Wind’s Benefit to all nearby party members when it is unleashed, granting them an Anemo DMG Bonus.
1st Ascension Passive – Impetuous FlowWhen Faruzan is in the Manifest Gale state created by Wind Realm of Nasamjnin, the amount of time taken to charge a shot is decreased by 60%, and she can apply The Wind’s Secret Ways’ Perfidious Wind’s Bale to opponents who the vortex created by Pressurized Collapse hits.
4th Ascension Passive – Lost Wisdom of the Seven CavernsWhen characters affected by The Wind’s Secret Ways’ Prayerful Wind’s Gift deal Anemo DMG using Normal, Charged, Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, or Elemental Bursts to opponents, they will gain the Hurricane Guard effect: This DMG will be increased based on 32% of Faruzan’s Base ATK. 1 instance of Hurricane Guard can occur once every 0.8s. This DMG Bonus will be cleared after Prayerful Wind’s Benefit expires or after the effect is triggered once.
Utility Passive – Tomes Light the PathGains 25% more rewards when dispatched on a Sumeru Expedition for 20 hours.

Constellations and Effects

If you have limited resources, reaching C2 (Constellation 2) with Faruzan is already a useful upgrade. This constellation increases the duration of her Elemental Burst, which means that her Anemo buff can stay a little longer.

However, it can’t be denied that the best of her is locked at C6. With this constellation, anyone buffed by Faruzan’s Burst will also have their Anemo CRIT DMG increased by 40%! On top of the buffs her Burst provides, this Anemo CRIT DMG bonus will definitely contribute a huge chunk of damage for your Anemo DPS or for Faruzan herself.

LEVELCONSTELLATIONEFFECT
1Truth by Any MeansFaruzan can fire off a maximum of 2 Hurricane Arrows using fully charged Aimed Shots while under a single Wind Realm of Nasamjnin effect.

4Divine ComprehensionThe vortex created by Pressurized Collapses will restore Energy to Faruzan based on the number of opponents hit: If it hits 1 opponent, it will restore 2 Energy for Faruzan. Each additional opponent hit will restore 0.5 more Energy for Faruzan.
A maximum of 4 Energy can be restored to her per vortex.
5Wonderland of RuminationIncreases the Level of The Wind’s Secret Ways by 3.

This CD is shared between all party members.

Recommended Roles and Teams for Faruzan

As mentioned, Faruzan shines best as a support unit for an Anemo DPS. Her party buff and enemy debuff will significantly enhance your Anemo characters’ damage output. To maximize her potential as an Anemo support unit below is our team recommendation.

SHIELDED ANEMO DPS

MAIN DPSSUPPORT/SUB-DPSSHIELD SUPPORTHEALER/SUPPORT
– Wanderer
– Xiao
– Heizou
– Faruzan– Layla
– Zhongli
– Diona
– Thoma
– Bennett
– Diona
– Jean

While Faruzan is an amazing support unit, she doesn’t provide any defensive mechanics. Her offensive buffs only take effect for a couple of seconds, so having your DPS interrupted by enemies will significantly decrease your damage output. With this in mind, it is best for your Anemo DPS to be shielded or at least have their resistance against interruption increased.

Because of this, you might consider including a Shield Support unit, such as the 4-star Cryo characters Layla or Diona, the 4-star Pyro character Thoma, and the 5-star Geo character Zhongli.

As for healing, you can have the 4-star Pyro character Bennett. The good thing about him is that he will also buff your ATK. You might also consider the 5-star Anemo character Jean, as she can decrease Anemo RES at C4.

Depending on who you want, our Main Anemo DPS recommendations include the 5-star Catalyst user Wanderer and the 5-star Polearm user Xiao. If you don’t have these two, our free-to-play option is the 4-star Catalyst user Shikanoin Heizou.

Recommended Weapons for Faruzan

Faruzan’s Elemental Burst is her most important Talent. However, it has quite a high energy cost. This is one of the things that you should consider when building her. The table below shows our top weapon choices for Faruzan. You can also check out our insights for each weapon below the table for more information.

WEAPONDETAILS
Elegy for the End (5 stars)Base ATK (Lv 1 -90): 46 – 608
Base Bonus Stat (Lv 1 -90): Energy Recharge 12% – 55.1%
Base Skill Effect: A part of the “Millennial Movement” that wanders amidst the winds.
Increases Elemental Mastery by 60.

When the Elemental Skills or Elemental Bursts of the character wielding this weapon hit opponents, that character gains a Sigil of Remembrance. This effect can be triggered once every 0.2s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field.

When you possess 4 Sigils of Remembrance, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain the “Millennial Movement: Farewell Song” effect for 12s.

“Millennial Movement: Farewell Song” increases Elemental Mastery by 100 and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Remembrance for 20s.

Of the many effects of the “Millennial Movement,” buffs of the same type will not stack.
Skyward Harp (5 stars)Base ATK (Lv 1 -90): 48 – 674
Base Bonus Stat (Lv 1 -90): CRIT Rate 4.8% – 22.1%
Base Skill Effect: Increases CRIT DMG by 20%. Hits have a 60% chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 4s.
Favonius Warbow (4 stars)Base ATK (Lv 1 -90): 41 – 454
Base Bonus Stat (Lv 1 -90): Energy Recharge 13.3% – 61.3%
Base Skill Effect: CRIT hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.

Elegy for the End

With her need for high Energy Recharge, Elegy for the End is a solid 5-star choice for Faruzan. This bow also has a high ATK Base Stat, which is needed to increase the buff that she provides with her 4th Ascension Passive. On top of these, the bow’s passive can increase your team’s Elemental Mastery and ATK. Learn more about Elegy for the End here.

Skyward Harp

As of writing, this 5-star weapon has the highest base ATK among all bows. As mentioned, the higher Faruzan’s ATK is, the better buff she provides with her 4th Ascension Passive. For this reason alone, Skyward Harp is another great option for Faruzan.

Favonius Warbow

The Favonius Warbow might only be a 4-star weapon, but it has better Energy Regeneration than Elegy for the End. This bonus stat is vital for improving her Elemental Burst uptime. While it has a significantly lower base ATK than the previously mentioned bows, this bow’s passive allows her to provide some battery support for her teammates.

Recommended Artifact Sets and Stat Priority for Faruzan

Below are our recommended artifact sets for Faruzan. Make sure to read our thoughts about each set below the table to know when to use them.

ARTIFACT SETEFFECTS
Noblesse Oblige2-piece: Elemental Burst DMG +20%
4-piece: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.
Viridescent Venerer2-piece: Anemo DMG Bonus +15%
4-piece: Increases Swirl DMG by 60%. Decreases opponent’s Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s.
Tenacity of the Millelith2-piece: HP +20%
4-piece: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.

Provided she has enough Energy Recharge, a 4-piece Noblesse Oblige set is generally a good option for Faruzan, as it further buffs her teammates’ damage potential. However, this will only work if you have an ATK-focused team, rather than a Swirl-focused one. Moreover, you can only have one character in the team with a 4-piece Noblesse set since its effects do not stack.

Another set that you might consider is a 4-piece Viridescent Venerer. Take note, however, that this set is only good for Faruzan if you have a non-Anemo off-field DPS who can take advantage of the Elemental RES reduction that this set triggers.

Lastly, a 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith set is another one worth considering. It might even actually be the best set for Faruzan. However, for this to work, you must have already unlocked all her constellations. It can be recalled that her C6 allows her Pressurized Collapse to be consistently applied to enemies even when off-field. This is considered an Elemental Skill. Therefore, with a 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith, she can increase her party members’ attacks and shield strength consistently.

To maximize the 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith set, you might want to follow our recommended team (Shielded Anemo DPS team). Also, just like Noblesse Oblige, you can only have one character in the team with a 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith set since its effects do not stack.

For the main stats of your artifact pieces, we recommend that you consider the following:

  • Sands â€“ ATK% or Energy Recharge if she needs more
  • Goblet â€“ Anemo DMG Bonus
  • Circlet â€“ CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG (depending on what you need)

For substats, look for Energy Recharge, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG.
