Enshrouded Steam Deck verified status is official. Keen Games announced on October 23, 2026 that Enshrouded 1.0 had earned Valve’s Verified compatibility rating, meaning the game has passed its checks for playing on Steam Deck without extra setup.

That’s good news if you’ve been wanting to take Embervale away from your PC. The rating covers both the original Steam Deck LCD and the OLED model, and you can play the Steam version you already own. There are still a few things worth knowing before jumping in, especially when it comes to graphics settings and what Verified says about performance.

Is Enshrouded Steam Deck verified after the 1.0 update?

Yes. Keen Games confirmed the Enshrouded Steam Deck verified rating eight days after the game’s full 1.0 launch on October 15. This is a Valve compatibility rating, rather than a player-made list of settings or an unofficial report that the game runs.

Steam Deck games have four possible labels. Verified means they work well out of the box. Playable means they can run but might need some manual adjustments. Unsupported means they aren’t currently functional on Deck, while Unknown means Valve hasn’t completed a compatibility review.

You don’t need a separate handheld edition or another purchase if Enshrouded is already in your Steam Library. Valve applies the same compatibility rating to LCD and OLED models, though that doesn’t mean both have identical battery life in every game.

What does Enshrouded Steam Deck verified mean for controls and display?

Valve looks at more than whether a game launches. A Verified rating covers the following requirements:

AreaWhat Valve checks
ControlsFull controller support, correct button prompts and an on-screen keyboard when needed
DisplaySupport for 1280 x 800 or 1280 x 720 resolution, readable text and suitable default settings
Seamless playNo compatibility warnings, with any launcher navigable using a controller
System supportThe game and required components work through Proton, if Proton is needed

Those are Valve’s general requirements, and they’re why the Enshrouded Steam Deck verified badge matters. You should be able to navigate menus and play with the built-in controls without hunting down a community controller layout. The rating is not, however, a published benchmark for a particular frame rate.

How to check Enshrouded’s Steam Deck compatibility badge

On your Steam Deck, open Library and choose Enshrouded. Look for the compatibility rating on its game page, then open the details to see Valve’s assessment. You can check the same information from the game’s Steam Store listing. Valve also lets you filter your Library by compatibility category.

If you find older discussions describing Enshrouded as Playable, remember that Keen Games announced its move to Verified on October 23, 2026. The current Steam rating is the useful one when deciding whether to install or play.

Best settings for Enshrouded on Steam Deck

The best place to start is with Enshrouded’s default graphics settings. Keen Games’ Steam Deck support advice recommends the defaults, and Valve includes suitable out-of-the-box settings in its verification checks. If you’ve been changing options since Early Access, try the in-game Reset to Default option before copying an old preset from a video.

What you shouldn’t do is treat the Enshrouded Steam Deck verified label as a promise of 30, 40 or 60 FPS. Keen Games’ verification announcement doesn’t publish an exact frame-rate target, battery-life figure, power limit or preferred graphics profile for the 1.0 build. Those numbers need actual testing.

Enshrouded can shift from quiet exploration to fighting enemies, building settlements and playing co-op. If you notice a drop in smoothness, change one graphics option at a time and see whether it helps in the area you’re actually playing. A setting that suits a quiet outdoor location isn’t necessarily proof of how a large multiplayer base will perform.

Does Enshrouded support Steam Deck controls?

Yes. Full controller support is one of Valve’s Verified requirements. For players using the Enshrouded Steam Deck verified version, that means you should be able to use the handheld’s built-in controls, read the button prompts and bring up a software keyboard when you need to enter text.

If the keyboard doesn’t open automatically, hold the Steam button and press X. This is a standard Steam Deck shortcut confirmed by Valve, not a special workaround you need to enable for Enshrouded.

Enshrouded Steam Deck verified but not working properly?

First, check for game updates and SteamOS updates, then restart the game. If you’ve changed the graphics or compatibility settings, return to the defaults and test again. For controller issues, Steam’s game-page controller settings let you inspect your current layout before making changes.

Keen Games has an older Steam Deck help article that mentions a black screen while shaders prepare on first launch and the possibility of losing game focus after closing the on-screen keyboard. That advice predates the October 2026 Verified announcement. It is background troubleshooting information, not confirmation that either issue still affects Enshrouded 1.0.
