The Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes bring the biggest changes Embervale has seen since Early Access began. Keen Games has added the northern Cinder’s Cradle region, new Hollow Halls, dozens of monsters, more spells and an entirely new way to build interactive contraptions. Builders, fighters and explorers all have something new to figure out.
Version 1.0 launches on October 15, 2026. The developer released its complete changelog the previous day, and there’s much more to it than a new biome. Here’s a breakdown of the changes that will actually affect how you play, including what happens to existing characters and worlds.

Cinder’s Cradle and the new Hollow Halls
New story progression carries you north, past Veilwater Basin, into Cinder’s Cradle. Floating islands and lava-covered ruins are among the big changes to the landscape. The region contains 12 Shroud Roots and a new enemy faction, giving established players fresh territory to explore and clear.
The Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes also confirm two new Hollow Halls, including locations in Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin. These are substantial new dungeon areas, not merely alternative entrances to older content. If your character previously reached the end of the available story, there’s now more to discover rather than another run through the same endgame.
All nine new Enshrouded spells
The Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes introduce Mana Drain, Entangle, Pillar of Flames, Blizzard, Ball Lightning, Summon Fire Totem, Summon Ice Totem, Summon Shock Totem and Summon Hollow Skeleton. These give magic-focused characters more ways to control enemies, damage groups and use summons during fights.
Existing builds shouldn’t be copied across blindly. The skill tree has changed, enemy weaknesses have been adjusted and players loading old characters must assign their skill points again. Totems and the Hollow Skeleton are especially interesting for anyone who enjoys fighting alongside summoned support rather than relying entirely on direct spellcasting.
37 new enemies and combat rebalancing
The Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes add 37 enemy types and variants across the update. The new northern faction is part of that expansion, but existing areas also receive adjustments to encounters and enemy behaviour. The Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes also cover combat and weapon balancing, so equipment that felt dominant before 1.0 may no longer perform exactly the same way.
With expanded progression and a new level cap, it’s worth looking at your armour, weapons and allocated skills before heading into the northern region. If your character is returning from an older save, the automatic skill reset gives you an opportunity to build for the new abilities instead of trying to preserve a setup that no longer quite fits.
Sparkworks lets you create moving, interactive builds
Sparkworks is one of the most striking additions in the Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes. Switches, pressure plates, doors, traps and other elements can be connected so that one part of a building activates another. A two-dimensional graph editor shows and configures those connections.
This opens the door to custom puzzles, traps and player-made adventures rather than just decorative structures. It is a new system with its own learning curve, particularly when multiple inputs and outputs are involved. Our separate Sparkworks guide explains the confirmed connections without making up crafting recipes.
Airborne Architect, storage and automatic loot
The new Airborne Architect skill allows free-flying movement while building, helping players position pieces in awkward spaces. Storage chests gain an upgrade route that can expand capacity without requiring you to empty them first, making large bases less of a storage-management headache.
According to the Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes, automatic ground-loot collection is improved, with a larger pickup radius. Together with revisions to crafting progression, these changes address ordinary annoyances that become especially noticeable after spending dozens of hours in one world. Keen has made performance and rendering improvements as well, although results will depend on hardware.

Will existing Enshrouded saves still work?
Yes. PC Early Access worlds and characters remain compatible with the full release. They are converted into a more efficient save format when loaded in version 1.0. The skill tree resets when you first open an older save, which means your points must be allocated again.
The Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes accompany a free update for existing PC owners. Early Access buyers also receive three exclusive decorative items through Escape Menu → Redeem Add-Ons. Players who join after Early Access cannot place those exclusive decorations themselves. Read our Early Access rewards guide for the full process.
Enshrouded 1.0 release time and crossplay
The developer’s worldwide schedule in the Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes launch period targets October 15 at 4 p.m. BST, although the UK PlayStation Store has displayed a different 6 p.m. BST unlock for PS5. PC and PS5 players cannot crossplay at launch. Keen is working on that feature but hasn’t provided a date.
The Enshrouded 1.0 patch notes cover new regions, enemies, spells and building features. For the individual balance adjustments, Keen Games has also published the complete changelog.
