Enshrouded 1.0 Auto Loot lets you collect scattered resources without pressing the interact button for every item. In the 1.0 update, you can switch on automatic collection or hold the pickup control to gather nearby drops.
The two options are different. You can enable automatic collection in the gameplay settings or hold the interaction control to sweep up nearby loose items on demand. Neither method automatically opens containers, loots defeated enemies or collects quest items.
How to enable Enshrouded 1.0 Auto Loot
Open Settings → Gameplay and enable automatic collection of scattered loot. Return to the world and approach a loose resource to test it. Your inventory needs space, and items in a chest or on a defeated enemy still require their normal interaction.

Enshrouded 1.0 Auto Loot: automatic versus hold pickup
Auto Loot is intended for routine gathering as you move through the world. Holding a button to collect gives more deliberate control when you don’t want to grab every nearby material. Compare the two options in a safe area before heading into combat or a crowded dungeon.
What Enshrouded 1.0 Auto Loot collects
Keen Games specifies that both methods collect scattered loose loot in a larger radius. There are three exclusions: loot inside containers, loot from defeated enemies and quest-related items. You must still interact with those normally. If a dead enemy or treasure chest isn’t being collected, that doesn’t mean the new Auto Loot setting has stopped working.
Enshrouded 1.0 Auto Loot: why pickup isn’t working
Check that the setting has been saved and that the drop is in range. Make sure the inventory has enough capacity and inspect whether the target is a normal world drop. If the game still behaves like an old version, confirm version 1.0 is installed and restart the game after changing options.

Enshrouded 1.0 Auto Loot: avoid filling your inventory
Automatically collecting materials can fill bags quickly when clearing enemy groups. Leave space before a farming run and return to your base to deposit resources. Switch to hold-based or manual pickup if you prefer to skip low-value materials as you move.
Does automatic pickup send items into Magic Chests?
No. Collected resources go into your character inventory. The separate Magic Chest system helps crafting stations use eligible resources in storage at your base. You still have to bring gathered items home and store them.
Enshrouded 1.0 Auto Loot settings checklist
- Install version 1.0 and load your character.
- Open the game’s Settings menu and select the gameplay options.
- Find the setting for automatic collection of scattered loot and enable it.
- Return to the world and approach a loose material on the ground to test whether the pickup happens automatically.
- If you want to choose when to collect instead, use the hold-to-pick-up method with the interaction control rather than leaving automatic collection active.
The new system reaches items scattered nearby, rather than requiring a separate tap for every loose object. It is intended to make collecting building materials and other drops less fiddly while moving around. It doesn’t magically increase your backpack size, and you still need space for the items you collect.
Which items still need manual looting?
| Type of item | Automatic or hold pickup? |
|---|---|
| Loose scattered resources lying nearby | Yes, within the supported pickup range |
| Items inside treasure and storage containers | No, open the container normally |
| Items on defeated enemies | No, interact with the enemy loot |
| Special quest items | No, use their normal interaction |
The pickup area is larger in version 1.0. If a loose item stays on the ground, walk closer and check your inventory space. Standing nearer won’t collect the contents of a chest or an enemy, because those are excluded.
The Enshrouded 1.0 Auto Loot feature is independent of the new storage chest upgrades. Collecting items automatically puts them into your inventory; it doesn’t send them into Magic Chests at your base. Chest upgrades and Magic storage have their own mechanics and crafting requirements.
