Halloween Pass Missions are how you earn Event Pass EXP and work towards Level 30 in The First Descendant’s Halloween 2026 pass. Every challenge awards the same amount of EXP, so the quickest route to Level 30 is to choose objectives you can finish efficiently. You can reach the level cap without completing every challenge.
The Halloween Pass Missions are all available from the beginning of the event, with no daily or weekly refresh. That changes how you should approach the pass: look at the one-time and progressive challenges you can finish naturally with your current build, track them from the challenge menu, and leave the awkward ones until last. Here’s how the system works and what is actually confirmed about the rewards and deadline.
Where to find Halloween Pass Missions
Open the Battle Pass screen and select Event Pass in its bottom-right corner. From there you can view the Halloween Pass itself, while the challenges are listed under the Halloween Pass Challenge tab of the Battle Pass Challenge screen. You can progress the Halloween Pass Missions even if you haven’t purchased the premium upgrade.
The Game Menu also includes Challenge Objective, where four Halloween Pass missions are shown by default. They are identified with a pink E marker, and you can register them as high-priority objectives. That’s useful if you’re working through another activity at the same time and want to see whether it is advancing the pass.

Fastest way to level the Halloween Pass to 30
Because all Halloween Pass Missions award equal EXP, your priority should be the missions that take the least additional effort for your character. Check both the One-time Challenges and Progressive Challenges tabs, then compare their remaining requirements with what you were already going to play. A one-time challenge that you can complete during an ordinary session can be better than forcing progress on a longer objective just because it looks impressive.
Progressive challenges can work well in the background while you complete your usual missions. One-time challenges are better picked off deliberately when their requirements are already close. The challenge tab displays the individual objective counts and progress. Check those numbers in-game before choosing your next target, particularly if you have already completed some of the progressive tasks.
| What to check | How it affects your route to Level 30 |
|---|---|
| Challenge EXP | Every Halloween challenge awards the same EXP amount, so compare effort rather than looking for a higher-EXP mission |
| Available missions | All objectives unlock at event start, so you can pick any currently eligible one |
| One-time challenges | Complete the easiest available ones when you can finish the full requirement quickly |
| Progressive challenges | Track tasks that can advance alongside your normal play |
| Level cap | The Halloween Pass stops at Level 30; you don’t have to clear every remaining objective |
| Reset | There is no daily or weekly Halloween challenge refresh to wait for |
Start with any nearly completed one-time challenges, then track progressive objectives that advance while you’re playing your normal missions. After each session, open the Halloween Pass Challenge tab, claim completed rewards and swap your tracked tasks for the next easy objectives. All missions have been available since launch, so there’s no reason to hold off for a weekly unlock.
Do Halloween Pass challenges refresh daily or weekly?
No. Nexon confirms that Halloween Pass Missions do not refresh or update on a daily or weekly schedule. Every mission starts available, and you can reach Level 30 without finishing all of them. If you see a different daily challenge elsewhere in The First Descendant, that does not make it a refreshing Halloween Pass objective.
This is especially easy to confuse with October’s separate events. Descendant Overhaul Missions include weekly objectives, while HQ Special Orders have their own changing quest schedule. They are useful activities to play, but their reset rules should not be copied onto the Halloween challenge list.
Can you complete Halloween Pass Missions without paying?
Yes. The Halloween Pass Missions are available without purchasing the premium pass, and finishing them earns Halloween Pass EXP. Free players can claim the rewards offered at selected free levels. Premium Upgrade and Premium Upgrade + Level Included are paid options using Caliber; they affect which premium rewards you can collect rather than whether challenges are available to you.
Our Halloween Event Pass overview has the pass price and premium contents. When deciding whether to pay, inspect the free and premium reward tracks in-game rather than confusing the ability to earn EXP with ownership of every cosmetic. Completing the levels does not automatically grant premium-only items to an account that hasn’t bought the upgrade.
Halloween Pass costumes and Level 30 rewards
The Little Red Riding Hood Costume and Big Bad Wolf Mask appear among Nexon’s announced Halloween Pass rewards. Open the Event Pass track to see the level and free/premium status of each reward before you spend Caliber. Their presence in the pass doesn’t mean both are free rewards.
The pass also has a separate deadline from the Nell Medical Support login skin, which requires accumulated logins rather than Halloween challenge EXP. Check whether you’re pursuing a pass cosmetic, a login reward or an October mission item before choosing which activity needs your attention. Those reward systems are running simultaneously but progress differently.

When do the Halloween Pass Missions end?
The event runs from the October 15, 2026 update until November 16, 2026 at 10:59 PM PST. You should earn the necessary Halloween Pass EXP and claim your intended rewards before that published end time. The login event for Nell lasts until November 23, so don’t accidentally use that later date as the Halloween Pass deadline.
Patch 1.4.6 on October 22 also corrected a mismatch in the Halloween Pass Challenge information displayed on the Halloween Pass screen. If you noticed confusing requirements or progress text around launch, make sure you’ve reconnected on the latest patch and compare the challenge screen with the current pass display.
Can you combine Halloween Pass progress with other October farming?
It makes sense to check whether your currently selected Halloween Pass Missions advance in the content you already want to run, instead of moving to a completely separate activity without a reason. Descendant’s Weekend boosts progression on eligible weekends, and Accelerate Research Week helps with research times, but neither should be mistaken for a guaranteed extra Halloween Pass EXP multiplier.
The Onslaught Stage 5 guide and Transcendent Weapon boost guide can help plan your wider farming routine. Check the actual in-game Halloween challenge wording before choosing a mission for simultaneous progress. The game has many October bonuses, but the developer has not stated that all of them automatically advance every Halloween challenge.
To finish Halloween Pass Missions efficiently, keep the pink E challenges visible, claim each completed task and move to the next one that fits your current build. Once the pass reaches Level 30, check both the free and premium reward tracks for anything you can claim before November 16.
