The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5: How to Unlock It and Weekly Rewards

Official comparison of Onslaught Stage 4 and 5 event menus

The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5 is live in Update 1.4.5 with six waves, a final Colossus and a 93,300 Arche Activity requirement for Public Operations. It unlocks after you clear Stage 4 once and can be entered through Albion’s Tactical Transport Control or the World Map content menu.

The live version also gives us the reward details that were missing before launch. Stage 5 can drop Quality 301–400 Transcendent Weapons, has its own mission-completion reward table and adds a guaranteed Transcendent-tier option to the weekly Onslaught reward.

How to unlock The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5

The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5
Onslaught Stage 5 is now live in Update 1.4.5.

To unlock The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5, complete Onslaught Stage 4 once. After that, Stage 5 appears through the Tactical Transport Control NPC in Albion and the World Map content menu.

Public Operations require 93,300 Arche Activity. Private Operations can still be started below that number, so the threshold blocks public matchmaking rather than the activity itself.

How Stage 5 works

The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5 has six waves. Once the final wave is cleared, a Colossus appears, turning the end of the run into a dedicated boss phase instead of simply ending after the last wave.

Tyrants also move towards the Energy Concentration Point during Stage 5. If a Tyrant reaches it, your Energy is reduced by 10%. Barricades can stop the Tyrant’s movement, so they are part of the defence rather than something you can ignore while focusing only on raw damage.

Killing a Tyrant also kills nearby Normal and Elite Vulgus within a certain radius. That makes a well-timed Tyrant kill useful for clearing pressure around the Energy Concentration Point instead of treating it as an isolated target.

Weak Point resistance in Onslaught Stage 5

Monsters in The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5 don’t use the normal Weak Point Damage Adjustment Value. Tyrants, Commanders and the Colossus also have added Weak Point Damage Resistance.

That resistance reduces the benefit you get from landing Weak Point hits against those tougher enemies. A build that performs brilliantly in lower stages because it leans heavily on Weak Point damage may therefore feel less dominant here.

The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5 rewards

The mission-completion rewards for The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5 include Transcendent Weapon Loot, Ancestors Module Loot, Alignment Devices and several progression currencies.

Kuiper ShardsAbout 248,000
Descendant EXP / Weapon ProficiencyAbout 3.44 million

2 Rare Alignment Devices26%
2 Ultimate Alignment Devices8%
Transcendent Weapon Loot10.7%

The Transcendent Weapon Loot from Stage 5 can contain weapons with Quality 301–400. Normal Monsters, Elite Monsters and Commanders can also drop Transcendent Weapon Loot at a low rate during the run, so the completion chest is not your only chance.

Weekly Onslaught Stage 5 reward

The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5 has also been added to the weekly Onslaught content. Each weekly reward claim gives one Ancestors Module Loot III with a guaranteed Option Tier, 130 Superconductive Cooling Units and one Vulgus Bio Data Chip.

For Stage 5, the Ancestors Module has at least one guaranteed Transcendent Tier Option. This replaces the pre-release shorthand that described the reward simply as a “Transcendent option”; the live patch notes make clear that the guarantee applies to an Ancestors Module option tier.

Stage 5 versus Stage 4

The main reason to move into The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5 is the stronger reward ceiling. Stage 5 adds Quality 301–400 Transcendent Weapon Loot and the guaranteed Transcendent-tier Ancestors Module option to the weekly reward structure.

Stage 4 still remains available, so there is no need to abandon it if your build is not ready for Stage 5 or you prefer the older difficulty for faster clears. The new stage expands the weekly choice rather than deleting the previous one.

Is Monster Hunter good for Stage 5?

The new Monster Hunter Transcendent assault rifle is a natural weapon to test in The First Descendant Onslaught Stage 5. Its yellow and purple effects can help against groups, while its green route targets Commanders, Tyrants and Colossi, all of which appear in the activity.

Monster Hunter is not required, though. The live entry conditions are the Stage 4 clear and the Arche Activity threshold for Public Operations. Your best weapon is still the one that can handle the six-wave defence and the final Colossus consistently.
