The First Descendant 1.4.5 Known Issues include problems with Gley’s Demonic Modification, Freyna’s Toxic Mixture, the Prepping in the Dark Trigger Module and the first Onslaught Stage 5 Emergency Mission. Nexon confirmed these problems after the October 15 update, with several corrections planned for version 1.4.6.
Some of the bugs affect damage or defensive effects, while others only change what appears on screen. If your build seems different after the update, the details below explain which behaviour is affected before you start swapping modules or rebuilding a character.
October 22–23 update: Trials and Onslaught fixes
Nexon restored the Trials Protocol 001 daily rotation in patch 1.4.6 on October 22, after fixing the multiplayer final-zone portal that could disappear. The patch also corrected Onslaught Stage 5 Emergency Missions completing immediately in Waves 1 and 6, overlapping special assault ship spawns and an incorrect Colossus appearance animation. The earlier October 16 suspension is no longer current.
Hotfix 1.4.6b subsequently fixed an Onslaught Stage 4 issue where mission conditions changed during a run and temporarily restricted entry. The restriction is lifted after players reconnect. These are confirmed fixes, not pending workarounds. Details: Nexon’s 1.4.6 notes and subsequent hotfix announcement.
For Stage 5 combat itself, see our Onslaught Stage 5 guide. The Trials rotation guide covers the current alternating dungeons.
The First Descendant 1.4.5 Known Issues: character and module bugs
| Character or feature | Confirmed issue | What it affects |
|---|---|---|
| Ultimate Gley, Demonic Modification | Focus Additional Damage is not applied to Explosion Damage | Actual explosion damage |
| Freyna, Toxic Mixture | Toxic Trigger’s DEF UP does not apply correctly | Actual defensive effect |
| Prepping in the Dark | Toxic Skill Power increase missing from character information | Display only; bonus still functions |
| Freyna skill descriptions | Several tooltips display incorrect text | Skill descriptions |
| Battle Pass descriptions | Incorrect wording about passive-skill kills | Displayed challenge information |
The difference matters when you’re judging whether a new build is working. Gley’s problem takes damage away from an affected explosion, whereas Prepping in the Dark’s Toxic Skill Power bonus still applies even though the character information screen doesn’t show it correctly.

The First Descendant 1.4.5 Known Issues: Gley damage bug
Ultimate Gley’s Demonic Modification is not applying Focus Additional Damage to Explosion Damage. If you’re using the reworked module to attack groups, the explosion portion of your damage is currently missing that contribution. This is a confirmed problem with the implementation, not the intended balance of the October rework.
The affected interaction is specifically Focus Additional Damage on Demonic Modification’s explosion.
The First Descendant 1.4.5 Known Issues: Freyna bugs
Freyna has a confirmed functional issue: Toxic Mixture does not correctly apply Toxic Trigger’s DEF UP effect. That means the protection you’re expecting from this interaction may be absent in the current update.
Separate from that bug, some of Freyna’s skill tooltips display incorrect descriptions. Those messages can make it harder to understand the revised skills, but the text issues should not be confused with the missing DEF UP effect.
The First Descendant 1.4.5 Known Issues: module display bug
Prepping in the Dark still provides its Toxic Skill Power increase. The problem is that the character information screen doesn’t reflect the bonus correctly. Its trigger sequence uses a Ground Damage-over-Time skill followed by a Concealment skill while Gap is active, which grants Ambush Setup.
The effect still works in combat despite the absent character-screen increase.

The First Descendant 1.4.5 Known Issues: Onslaught Stage 5
The first Emergency Mission in Onslaught Stage 5 can complete immediately and award Amorphous Dimension Fragments. Nexon lists this as a known issue, not an intended way for the new encounter to finish. The bug is tied to that first Emergency Mission, rather than the entire Onslaught mode.
Onslaught Stage 5 requires 93,300 Arche Activity to enter; the reported issue affects its first Emergency Mission.
Battle Pass descriptions and Assemble Event progress
The Battle Pass contains descriptions that incorrectly suggest kills from passive skills don’t count. That is a wording problem in the challenge information, and the displayed description shouldn’t be treated as proof that those kills are excluded.
The Assemble Event page has two more display problems: previously claimed World Completion rewards can appear unclaimed, and Personal Contribution progress can seem to reset. Nexon says already claimed rewards cannot be claimed twice. Any genuine outstanding rewards still have a claim deadline of October 21.
The First Descendant 1.4.5 Known Issues: when are fixes coming?
For The First Descendant 1.4.5 Known Issues, Nexon points to Update 1.4.6 for most corrections. The notice distinguishes bugs affecting actual damage or effects from display-only errors, which is useful while playing the October 15 release.
Gley’s missing explosion damage and Freyna’s missing DEF UP are gameplay bugs. Prepping in the Dark’s missing stat increase is a display bug. Nexon has targeted version 1.4.6 for most corrections.
