The First Descendant Gley October 2026 Rework: All Three Module Changes

The First Descendant Halloween Event Pass 2026

The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework changes all three of her highlighted modules in Update 1.4.5 on October 15. Explosive Life moves towards skill critical hits, Blood & Iron improves Custom Resource gain, and Demonic Modification gains a major Skill 4 damage increase with better potential to clear groups. These changes give Gley more than one way to build around her fourth skill.

Nexon’s final Update 1.4.5 notes include before-and-after damage, critical-hit and resource values for all three modules. What matters for deciding where to invest is which module supports single-target damage, which feeds repeated use of Skill 4 and which now works better against enemy groups. Here’s what has changed for each one.

The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework: all three modules compared

Module Confirmed October change Build effect
Explosive Life Firearm effects removed; increased skill power and Critical Hit Rate Skill critical hits and single-target Skill 4 damage
Blood & Iron Improved Custom Resource collection and additional melee damage; Rampage kills grant extra resources More frequent access to Skill 4
Demonic Modification Large Skill 4 damage increase, allowing area-of-effect clearing Stronger Skill 4 use against groups

The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework: Explosive Life loses firearm effects

Explosive Life no longer keeps its previous firearm effects. Instead, Nexon says the module amplifies skill power and Critical Hit Rate, opening up a skill-critical setup and single-target DPS through Skill 4. That’s a change of role rather than simply an increase to the same weapon buff.

If your current Gley build depends on Explosive Life to increase firearm output, inspect the updated module before reusing the same setup. The The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework makes critical skill damage the module’s stated focus. Players chasing strong hits on an individual boss are the ones most likely to benefit from testing it.

The final patch confirms 30% Skill Power and 25% Skill Critical Hit Rate for Explosive Life’s Frenzied effect. Those values should come from the live module tooltip, including its rank, instead of being copied from older builds.

The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework: Blood & Iron gains more Custom Resource

Blood & Iron gets a better way to collect Gley’s Custom Resource and more additional melee damage. Nexon also specifies that defeating enemies with Rampage grants extra Custom Resource. This can make Skill 4 available more often as you defeat enemies.

For a Blood & Iron setup, the main gameplay change is resource generation. Try using Rampage on targets you can finish off reliably, then watch how quickly Custom Resource returns. The The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework rewards the kind of build that keeps Gley’s resource available instead of saving it for a single attack.

The final patch confirms Rampage kills give 4 Power of Life per enemy defeated. Don’t assume every kill grants a fixed amount without checking the patched description.

Demonic Modification receives a substantial boost to Skill 4 damage. Nexon says area-of-effect skill clearing becomes viable through the new version, giving the module a different appeal from the single-target critical direction of Explosive Life.

The benefit is more noticeable in content with multiple enemies than when you’re assessing one isolated target. If you usually use Gley for farming missions with repeated waves, this is the module to test first. The final patch confirms exact damage modifiers for Demonic Modification.

Which The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework module should you choose?

The three modules now aim at different problems. Explosive Life is worth comparing for single-target skill critical damage. Blood & Iron supports a resource-generation approach that can increase how often you use Skill 4. Demonic Modification is the direct Skill 4 damage route, with additional potential for clearing groups.

For bosses, begin by testing Explosive Life against your existing setup rather than assuming the new Critical Hit Rate automatically wins. For repeat encounters and resource uptime, compare Blood & Iron. If you’re mostly clearing groups, give Demonic Modification a look. The best-performing module still depends on the exact patched multipliers, your modules and how many targets are present.

Does the The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework change Gley’s basic kit?

The October developer notes identify these three module effects, not a complete replacement of Gley’s base skills. Her resource system and Skill 4 remain central to the changes. Don’t treat a rework to Explosive Life as evidence that every firearm-oriented Gley build was deleted: it changes the role of that particular module.

The preview doesn’t establish that all three modules have identical unlock requirements or can be used together. Check your current equipped module, its slot and the new description before dismantling or replacing an existing loadout.

The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework: release time and patch 1.4.5

The rework is part of the October 15, 2026 update. Nexon’s scheduled maintenance runs from 6 AM to 4 PM BST, with the finish subject to change. The updated effects become playable once version 1.4.5 is applied and the servers reopen.

These are the final Update 1.4.5 changes, including damage and resource numbers, rather than the earlier preview estimates. For the other October balance changes, see Freyna’s October rework and the Onslaught Stage 5 guide.

The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework: exact 1.4.5 before-and-after values

Explosive Life: Frenzied costs 3% Max HP to activate instead of 5%, and 1% Max HP to sustain instead of 2%. Its old firearm bonuses are removed, replaced with 30% Skill Power and 25% Skill Critical Hit Rate. Base Explosive Life damage changes from Skill Power × 2,534.5% to 4,578.3%; the Frenzied modifier from 4,607.2% to 8,292.9%.

Blood & Iron: melee-triggered passive chance increases from 50% to 80%, Power of Life acquisition from 10 to 25, and melee additional damage from 2,161.0% to 4,402.5%. Rampage damage rises from 3,264.8% to 4,244.2%, with 4 Power of Life awarded per enemy killed.

Demonic Modification: Focus Additional Damage rises from Skill Power × 15.8% to 44.2% per 0.1 seconds, and Explosion Damage from 5,109.7% to 8,942.0%. These final values explain why players may need to rebuild their earlier skill or firearm loadouts.

The First Descendant Gley October 2026 rework: Demonic Modification bug

Update 1.4.5 has a confirmed problem with Demonic Modification: Focus Additional Damage does not apply to Explosion Damage from the module. That means the explosion is currently missing part of the damage that should come from this effect. Gley’s other October changes are separate from this issue.

Nexon lists the problem in its October 15 known issues notice, with a correction planned for version 1.4.6. For now, the explosion’s damage does not fully represent the intended module behaviour.
