ESO Western Skyrim Treasure Map Locations contain five dig spots: four regular numbered maps and one Collector’s Edition map. All five mounds are above ground, and you must have the corresponding map in your inventory before the dirt mound becomes available to dig.

Each map drawing shows a landscape landmark rather than a quest marker. Here are the five locations with reference coordinates, nearby Wayshrines and recognizable features so you can finish all your Western Skyrim treasure maps without searching the wrong cave or cliff.

Western Skyrim IV26.34 × 55.39Ruined Circle of Champions tower

The coordinates for these Western Skyrim dig spots are approximate community-recorded Western Skyrim zone X/Y positions. They’re useful reference points rather than official navigation pins. Confirm the drawing’s landmark and walk around it until the dirt-pile interaction appears.

Map I: Solitude ship and pillar

Travel southeast from Solitude Docks Wayshrine towards the ship or boat landmark north of the Black Morass Ritual Site. The map depicts a boat, nearby pillar and distant Solitude buildings. The mound is near 54.05 × 46.35, not inside the city.

For Treasure Map I, the skyline is your best clue. Search the ground close to the pictured boat rather than heading into the docks’ interiors. Don’t sell or destroy the treasure map before you dig.

Treasure Map II: Hjaalmarch Great Lift near Morthal

Travel from Morthal towards the Hjaalmarch Great Lift. The dig spot sits behind the lift in the hills, roughly 53.69 × 59.03. It is outside the lift on the Western Skyrim surface, not within the Blackreach caverns.

Treasure Map II is easy to overshoot because the lift is a tempting landmark to interact with. Walk around the hill behind it and watch for the mound before changing map layers.

Treasure Map III: Chilblain Peak stone arch

In western Skyrim, find the large stone arch on the road between Circle of Champions and Chilblain Peak Ritual Site. Follow the nearby hillside path to approximately 28.88 × 61.93. Look back at the arch to match the drawing.

Map III’s clue is the stone arch, not the broken tower. The tower is part of Map IV, which is northwest of the arch and closer to Circle of Champions.

Map IV: Circle of Champions ruined tower

From Deepwood Vale Wayshrine, head southwest along the main road towards Circle of Champions. The ruined tower in the treasure drawing is part of that location, and the mound is around 26.34 × 55.39. Search around the tower base; the tower-top Skyshard is a different collectible.

Treasure Map IV does not require winning the nearby world-boss encounter. You only need your map item and the correct patch of ground to dig.

Collector’s Edition treasure map: Dragon Bridge

Travel southwest from Solitude to Dragon Bridge. Cross the settlement’s named bridge and continue to the left, around 40.78 × 51.06. The bridge is the main drawing clue. You must have the Western Skyrim CE Treasure Map, not one of the ordinary numbered maps.

These five Western Skyrim treasure maps are separate from the four Blackreach: Greymoor Caverns maps. If your inventory says Blackreach, switch the map layer and look up that region’s two regular and two CE mounds instead.

Treasure mound missing or not interactable?

  • Check that the exact Treasure Map I, II, III, IV or CE item is in your inventory.
  • Confirm you’re on the Western Skyrim surface rather than inside Blackreach.
  • Use the map drawing to recognise the landmark, then walk a small circle around the expected mound.
  • Search for a small dirt pile, not a treasure chest standing in the open.
  • Once opened, the map is consumed and the reward chest is looted.

The coordinates get you close; the exact mound interaction determines the spot. If you have not yet accessed Greymoor, our Greymoor access article explains the zone, while the other Western Skyrim exploration guides are linked below.
