ESO Western Skyrim Harrowstorm Locations: How to Find and Complete Them

ESO Western Skyrim Harrowstorm Locations include six ritual sites on the surface and four more in Blackreach: Greymoor Caverns. These repeatable Greymoor world events begin when a supernatural storm forms around a ritual circle. Your goal is to destroy its three Witch Pikes, stop the Lost Souls feeding them, then defeat the final boss.

Harrowstorms are intended for several players and can become overwhelming if everyone attacks random adds instead of the ritual itself. Knowing which ritual sites are on the surface and which are underground helps you reach an active event before it ends.

All six Western Skyrim Harrowstorm locations

  • Giant’s Coast Ritual Site, on the Western Skyrim surface.
  • Northern Watch Ritual Site, near the northern surface watch area.
  • Chilblain Peak Ritual Site, in western Skyrim near the named peak.
  • Old Karth Ritual Site, in the Karth region.
  • Black Morass Ritual Site, towards the marshy Western Skyrim region.
  • Hailstone Valley Ritual Site, in the snow-covered valley.

The six surface sites appear as ritual markers on the map once discovered. They are different from the similarly named giant camps: Giant’s Coast Ritual Site is an event area, while Coastal Giant Camp and other giant camps are regular exploration points.

The four Blackreach Harrowstorm ritual sites

  • Nightstone Ritual Site in Blackreach: Greymoor Caverns.
  • Dwarf’s Bane Ritual Site in Blackreach.
  • Gloomforest Ritual Site in Blackreach.
  • Miner’s Lament Ritual Site in Blackreach.

All ten ritual sites count towards Greymoor’s world-event map completion. For the four underground sites, switch to the Blackreach map layer and use Great Lifts or discovered underground Wayshrines. Searching the surface for a Nightstone marker will take you nowhere.

How to start and complete a Harrowstorm

  • Travel to a ritual site with an active storm; a swirling red supernatural cloud marks the event.
  • Attack one of the three Witch Pikes surrounding the central reliquary.
  • Kill or slow Lost Souls moving towards the pikes so they cannot heal them.
  • Avoid ground damage and deal with dangerous champions or other enemies that appear.
  • Destroy all three Witch Pikes to advance the event.
  • Defeat the final Harrowstorm boss that appears after the pikes fall.
  • Loot the reward remains in the centre of the ritual area when the storm ends.

Each Harrowstorm follows the same basic combat sequence. Don’t stand directly under the lightning or chase every low-threat enemy across the arena. Concentrate damage on a Witch Pike, protect the objective from Lost Souls and move to the next Pike.

Why Lost Souls and Witch Pikes matter

Lost Souls travel directly towards the Witch Pikes instead of fighting you. Each soul that reaches one can heal it and build ritual energy. Repeated charges cause powerful champion enemies to spawn from the central reliquary, making the fight longer and harder. Killing the souls before they arrive is usually more valuable than chasing a normal cultist.

At a crowded Harrowstorm, groups can split duties: damage dealers attack the pikes, area attacks or snares catch the Lost Souls, and sturdier players control stronger adds. Once all three Pikes are destroyed, switch immediately to the final boss rather than continuing to attack the empty ritual positions.

How to find the next active Harrowstorm

Use the zone map to look for an active ritual symbol and ride or wayshrine to the nearest site. Storms respawn at different sites rather than remaining active everywhere. In zone chat, other players may call out which area is active, especially when people are completing the Solitude Harrowstorm daily.

Travelling between sites is much easier once you’ve discovered nearby Wayshrines on both map layers. The six surface sites and four underground sites are distinct even though they use the same event mechanics. A completed storm leaves its ritual ground and reappears elsewhere later.

Rewards, daily quests and group size

Harrowstorms award experience, loot and progress towards zone activities. You can pick up the daily Harrowstorm objective in Solitude and turn it in after contributing to a successful event. The zone’s achievement tracking distinguishes discovered locations from successful event clears.

These events are open-world group content, not solo story dungeons. A strong solo build can participate, but sharing the pikes and final boss with other adventurers is the intended approach. If you are struggling to finish one, wait for more players instead of leaving once the first Pike is destroyed.
