ESO Blackreach Skyshard Locations cover seven collectibles inside the Greymoor Caverns beneath Western Skyrim. Four can be found in the open underground zone, and three are inside Nchuthnkarst, Midnight Barrow and The Scraps.
Blackreach’s Great Lifts and multiple cave areas make it easy to follow a surface map to the wrong place. This walkthrough follows the seven in-game clues, explains which need dungeon entrances and shows how to get to the right map layer.
All seven Blackreach Skyshard locations

- 1. Lightless Hollow: at the top of its waterfall.
- 2. Dark Moon Grotto: in the Dwemer ruins south of Dark Moon Grotto.
- 3. Greymoor Keep: near its exterior walls, not inside a story instance.
- 4. Dusktown: east of town in the stormy cavern area.
- 5. Nchuthnkarst: overlooking the crescent pool inside the public dungeon.
- 6. Midnight Barrow: near the Wispmother’s pond inside the delve.
- 7. The Scraps: inside a junk-heap rotunda within the delve.
These seven locations make up the underground collection. The four surface-zone delves don’t count here, even though some of their entrances or lifts are close to Blackreach areas.
Blackreach Skyshards: map coordinates
For the first four, use your Blackreach: Greymoor Caverns map. For the other three, enter the named public dungeon or delve first; the second coordinate is on that dungeon’s own map.

|---|---|---|
| Lightless Hollow | 91.26 × 46.52 | Top of the waterfall |
| Dark Moon Grotto | 16.60 × 71.74 | South of the grotto, among Dwemer ruins |
| Greymoor Keep | 67.16 × 21.21 | Outside the keep walls |
| East of Dusktown | 53.52 × 75.21 | Stormy cavern near Dwarf’s Bane |
| Nchuthnkarst | 49.42 × 66.61 (zone); 68.33 × 60.30 (dungeon) | Above the crescent pool |
| Midnight Barrow | 76.74 × 36.84 (zone); 70.52 × 40.36 (delve) | Beside the Wispmother’s pond |
| The Scraps | 08.37 × 36.72 (zone); 72.61 × 50.49 (delve) | Inside the junk-heap rotunda |
How to enter Blackreach with a Great Lift
Use one of the Great Lifts in Western Skyrim to enter Blackreach: Greymoor Caverns. The Lightless Hollow, Dark Moon Grotto and Greymoor Cavern lifts help you access different sections of the subterranean world. Once you’re underground, change the world map to the Blackreach layer rather than trying to follow surface paths.
The easiest way to get around Blackreach is to unlock the underground Wayshrines as you travel. Reaching the Dusktown or Greymoor Keep areas may otherwise involve a long ride around inaccessible rock walls. Stay on marked cave paths and watch for lifts.
Lightless Hollow and Dark Moon Grotto Skyshards

At the Lightless Hollow, follow the water upstream or use the elevated path to reach the top of the waterfall. The Skyshard isn’t at the pool below. For Dark Moon Grotto, travel south towards the old Dwarven ruins and search among the structures in the open cavern.
Both Skyshards are in the larger underground zone, not their own instance. The ruins south of Dark Moon Grotto are different from Nchuthnkarst, which has its own public-dungeon entrance and a separate Skyshard.
Greymoor Keep and Dusktown Skyshards
The Greymoor Keep shard sits along the outside walls of the fortress. You don’t need to enter the main story location. Travel around the accessible exterior and follow the white light. The Dusktown shard lies to the east, where the in-game clue describes a brewing storm.
When searching for those two shards, keep the Blackreach map visible so you don’t mistake a distant cliff for an accessible surface road. Both pickups are outdoors relative to the cavern itself.
Nchuthnkarst, Midnight Barrow and The Scraps
Enter Nchuthnkarst and follow the public dungeon towards its crescent pool; the Skyshard overlooks the water. You can also defeat Clockwork Criterion’s group event for a different skill point. In Midnight Barrow, follow the delve to the Wispmother’s pond. In The Scraps, find the circular junk-heap rotunda.
The three dungeon Skyshards require entering their respective instances. You can collect their shards without first clearing every boss, although nearby enemies may need to be defeated to reach the pickup safely.
Blackreach Skyshards and Greymoor skill points
Every three Skyshards award a skill point. The seven Blackreach shards plus eleven Western Skyrim Skyshards make eighteen collectibles, granting six full skill points when all are taken by one character.
The Western Skyrim surface guide covers the other eleven. The Nchuthnkarst guide covers its Clockwork Criterion fight and the pool-side shard if you’re completing both tasks on one visit.
