Genshin Impact: Who are the Eleven Fatui Harbingers?

The hype for the upcoming region, Sumeru, in Genshin Impact has been consistently surging in the past few weeks. And as if that isn’t enough, HoYoverse has taken the hype to an even higher level with a totally unexpected teaser called “Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter Night’s Lazzo.”
The teaser caught fans off guard with its surprising content. After La Signora was executed with the Raiden Shogun‘s Musou no Hitotachi, the Fatui Harbingers gathered for the first time in a long while for The Fair Lady‘s funeral.
Surprisingly, all of the remaining live Harbingers were present except for Scaramouche, whom we have already met, anyway. But if anyone says they already expected to see all of the Harbingers this early on is a liar! Nobody could have expected this teaser.
Now, although they’re literally our enemies as The Traveler, we definitely love learning more about the Fatui, and that teaser was such a pleasant surprise. In this article, we have listed down all of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and what we know so far about them.
If you’re fairly new to the game, the Fatui is one of the main antagonistic groups in Genshin Impact. This faction has eleven (11) executive officers, the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, who have been granted Delusions by the Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon herself.
Pierro

The very first member of the Fatui and No.1 of the Fatui Harbingers, it was Pierro who personally recruited several other members, including Il Dottore, La Signora, Pantalone, and Scaramouche.
Not much is known about his past. However, it is said that he was not favored by an unknown country’s past ruler simply because he was considered less capable than the country’s sages. However, whatever this ruler’s decision was, it brought destruction to the country, leaving Pierro embittered with the “divine” and making him decide to join the Tsaritsa.
Columbina

Columbina might look harmless, but Tartaglia tells the Traveler to be careful should they meet.
“The Harbingers are ranked by strength, and I have no idea why that girl is No. 3. I’d test my skills with every Harbinger who ranks above me if I had the chance, but when it comes to her… something just doesn’t feel right. Anyway, you should be careful around her.”

Pulcinella

No. 5 of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, it was Pulcinella who recruited Tartaglia into the Fatui, which has greatly advanced the Fatui‘s causes. This result was predicted by Pulcinella since his first meeting with Tartaglia while observing the latter’s combat prowess and taste for chaos. With this, it can be said that Pulcinella is quite a “calculating” character.
Scaramouche

First met by The Traveler during the Unreconciled Stars Event Quest The Crisis Deepens, Scaramouche is actually a puppet created by Ei, the Electro Archon. As a puppet, he was meant to have no emotions and become the vessel of Ei‘s Gnosis. However, he shed tears upon his creation, and Ei thought that he wasn’t fit for the task. Instead of destroying or killing Scaramouche, Ei let him go, allowing him to live the life he chooses.

La Signora

La Signora is the very first Fatui Harbinger to appear in-game when she ambushed Venti and The Traveler to take the Anemo Archon‘s Gnosis. Although fierce and condescending, La Signora was actually a gentle soul before the Cataclysm took place around 500 years ago. However, this catastrophe made her lose the man she loved, filling her heart with grief and rage.

Pantalone

No. 9 of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, Pantalone is a wealthy person in charge of Snezhnaya’s economical policies. Although currently a very rich person, Pantalone was born in poverty and never received a vision. These drove him to become the person he is today, an act of rebellion against the gods.

Tartaglia

Tartaglia has a friendly facade, but he actually has a taste for danger and causing chaos. A cunning Snezhnayan and the Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers, his next courses of action are unpredictable. Despite this, Tartaglia has a soft spot for his family, especially his youngest brother Teucer, that he is willing to put himself in danger for their happiness.
Arlecchino

Arlecchino runs an orphanage called the House of the Hearth. However, this isn’t a typical orphanage. It is here where most of the Fatui are raised and made. It is even speculated that children in this orphanage have been made orphans as per her orders.

Il Capitano

Not much is known about Il Capitano. He was mentioned once by the Fatui NPC Viktor when he ponders which Harbinger he would rather work under. However, his reason for choosing him has not been stated.
Il Dottore

Although Il Dottore has not made an appearance in the game yet, he is a major antagonist and was seen a lot of times in the official manga. Before he joined the Fatui, he was chased away from his hometown. This is because he experimented with people in unimaginable ways to create an “enhanced human” strong enough to surpass the gods.

Sandrone

Sandrone hasn’t made an appearance in the game yet. What’s officially known about her is that she once admonished Javert, a Fatui Agent in the Fatui’s Debt Collection division. This was mentioned in the description of the Character Tale of Tartaglia called Childe: Sigil of Permission.

The titles given to the Eleven Fatui Harbingers are based on the stock characters in commedia dell’arte, a type of Italian theater which uses masks to depict exaggerated “real characters” such as greedy old men, devious servants, or know-it-all doctors.
