New Genshin teaser showcases all of the Fatui Harbingers

During their usual drip marketing or, in other words, early character reveals for future updates, Hoyoverse released a very peculiar teaser. It contained nothing more than all of the Fatui Harbingers making an official appearance for the first time.
This was one of the most unexpected ways players would imagine they would get to see some of the most mysterious and interesting characters of the game revealed all at once. The setting is La Signora’s funeral in Snezhnaya, which all of the Harbingers, with the exception of Scaramouche, attended to mourn their fallen comrade.
The Harbingers were speculated to have a bigger role in the next chapters of the Archon Quests, as it was revealed by most recent leaks. Ubatcha, in particular, has revealed new leaked voicelines for Childe directed at them, revealing names and some traces of their personality.
The teaser revealed some of the most anticipated of them, such as Pantalone, Arlecchino and, most notably, Pierro, the very first of the Fatui.
The teaser marks a brief reunion between the Fatui as they discuss Signora’s sacrifice in a foreign land. After a brief conflict and discussing Scaramouche’s whereabouts, they affirm their own objectives of “seizing authority from the gods”, and give a small tease that La Signora’s role is not yet over.
A small detail is that Pierro is playing chess using both the Anemo and Geo Gnosis as chess pieces. The similarity between them and actual pieces has been long noted and theorized about, and it seems that those theories were in a good direction.
Who are each of the Fatui Harbingers in the teaser?
Until this moment, only 4 Harbingers had made an official appearance: La Signora, Childe, Scaramouche and Dottore (in the Genshin manga). In this tease, we were shown to, in order of appearance:
Damsellette, the girl next to Signora’s coffin, happily singing a sinister lullaby.
Pulcinella, the “Rooster” who first appeared as a silhouette in the Teyvat Chapter Trailer. He is called mayor in this teaser by Pantalone.
Pantalone, referenced in the Pale Flame artifact set descriptions and during Yelan’s story. He is also known as the “Regrator”, doesn’t hold a vision and is heavily associated with money.

Arlecchino, the “Servant”. She is mentioned in the Shuumatsuban World Quests in Inazuma as the owner of an orphanage from which some of the Fatui servants come.
Tartaglia, also goes by “Childe”. The only playable Fatui who meets the Traveler in Liyue and almost causes the destruction of the whole city.
Sandrone, the “Marionette”. The Fatui is the girl being held by her creation, as her name suggests. Childe describes her as obsessed with her creations.
Capitano, the “Captain”. Not much is known about him, but he seems to be extremely focused on his final goal.
Dottore, the mad “Doctor” archetype who experiments on living beings. He is revealed to have a separate clone who is younger than him and has his own ambitions.
Pierro, the very first of the Fatui and the “Jester”, who is their absolute leader and is referenced in the mask of the Pale Flame artifact.
The trailer ends with a small cameo of Collei and Tighnari, and indicates that the aforementioned Dottore clone will make an appearance in the main story. As Collei was one of his previous experiments in the past, they are most likely destined to meet again during the quests.
Scaramouche is absent because, as mentioned during the 2.2 event by Childe, he went missing after obtaining the Gnosis, possibly seeking a way to use its powers for himself, as he’s a discarded vessel for the Raiden Shogun herself.

When will the Fatui Harbingers become playable?
Many of them may end up not being playable at all. All characters to this moment are somehow friendly to the Traveler. Childe is a Fatui, but his Character Story shows us a good side of him. He’s more like an anti-hero than a straight villain.
The likes of Dottore, on the other hand, were shown to have purely twisted evil minds, and it’s very much possible that they end up not being playable. Scaramouche is very much on the same page, and Signora also died before she could be released.
But this is not the end for them. There are many theories that La Signora will be resurrected later in the story, and Scaramouche is already one of the most popular characters in the game, even with his few appearances. They may end up becoming playable by public demand later in the game.
For now, we have this beautiful teaser with all some of the future enemies we’ll be facing, and now that we’re 100% sure that we’ll meet more of the Fatui Harbingers in person during this next arc, the 3.0 couldn’t be more hyped up.
