Xbox Free Play Days on PC includes Spirittea and EVERSPACE 2 from 29 October through 1 November 2026. Both are available to Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate members, and both can also be played on Xbox consoles during the promotion.
It’s a choice between a relaxed bathhouse sim and a space combat adventure. Xbox’s other three games this weekend have console-only trial offers, so here are the two PC downloads, the membership rules and the discounts worth knowing about.
Xbox Free Play Days on PC: games and end dates
| Game | Free dates | Game Pass | Discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spirittea | 29 Oct to 1 Nov | Essential, Premium or Ultimate | 50% off |
| EVERSPACE 2 | 29 Oct to 1 Nov | Essential, Premium or Ultimate | 80% off the base game and up to 50% off expansions |
Both PC offers end on Sunday 1 November. Install one while the weekend access is running; purchasing the game afterwards is optional.
How to download Xbox Free Play Days on PC
Open the Xbox app or Microsoft Store on Windows and sign in with the Microsoft account tied to your eligible Game Pass membership. Search for Spirittea or EVERSPACE 2 and select its free installation offer.
You can also open a game’s Xbox.com listing while signed in and follow its Store link. The discounted Buy button is separate from the free weekend entitlement. Use the temporary install option to play without purchasing first.
If your Xbox Free Play Days on PC trial isn’t showing, check the Microsoft account, the date and the Windows version of the game. Xbox lists only Spirittea and EVERSPACE 2 for PC access in the October 29 Free Play Days selection.
Spirittea: a cosy bathhouse adventure
Spirittea puts you in charge of a bathhouse for spirits in a mountain town. You’ll meet residents, work out what the spirits need and turn the old bathhouse into a business. It is a good pick if you prefer cosy management over combat.
Spirittea is 50% off during Xbox Free Play Days on PC. You can use the temporary trial to decide whether you want to keep running your bathhouse once the weekend finishes.
EVERSPACE 2: space combat and exploration
EVERSPACE 2 is a single-player space shooter about exploring star systems, completing missions and improving your ship. Expect fast combat, loot and puzzles rather than the slower pace of Spirittea.
Xbox is offering 80% off the base game and up to 50% off the Titans and Wrath of the Ancients expansions. The expansions aren’t necessary to claim the trial; those are separate purchase offers.
Which games are console-only?
WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers and Darkwood have Xbox console Free Play Days offers this weekend. Dead by Daylight is also a console trial, open to all Xbox members without Game Pass and running through 2 November.
Xbox Free Play Days on PC is limited to the two games named above. A title having a separate Windows edition doesn’t mean its Xbox console weekend offer applies to PC.
What about the Football Manager 27 trial?
Football Manager 27 has a separate five-day Launch Preview, running from 29 October at 6pm GMT to 3 November at 6pm GMT. It’s available through Steam, Epic and Microsoft Store without a Game Pass subscription; Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can also play it.
That preview is separate from Xbox Free Play Days on PC, not a sixth game in Xbox Wire’s weekend lineup. Publisher Sports Interactive says careers started during the trial continue into the purchased game, and our dedicated Football Manager 27 guide covers those download options.
Does Xbox Free Play Days on PC progress carry over?
Xbox confirms that achievements and Gamerscore earned during Free Play Days are retained if you later purchase the game. Compatible save progress can continue with the same account and version, while the promotional game licence expires after 1 November.
Xbox Free Play Days on PC is worth checking if you want to try either game before buying: Spirittea for a cosy change of pace or EVERSPACE 2 for space battles and ship upgrades. Both have separate sale prices if you decide to keep playing.
