Football Manager 27 Launch Preview is free on PC and Mac until 6 PM GMT on Tuesday, 3 November 2026. It opened on 29 October at 6 PM GMT, with the complete game available across all modes, including Shuffle Draft. You can start a career now, save it and carry it into the paid preview or the full release on 10 November.
You don’t need a pre-order or a separate trial sign-up to take part. Steam, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store offer a free download, while PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can use the Xbox PC app. After the free period, continued access requires an eligible subscription or a qualifying digital pre-purchase.
Who can play the Football Manager 27 Launch Preview for free?

The free offer is open to PC and Mac players on the supported storefronts. PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate also qualify, but lower subscription tiers are not included in Sports Interactive’s preview terms.
The Football Manager 27 Launch Preview replaces the usual beta or advanced-access period. Sports Interactive says the build is closer to the finished game, though some licensed club or player assets are still awaiting approval. A missing badge or photograph isn’t necessarily a download problem.
How to download the Football Manager 27 Launch Preview on Steam, Epic or Microsoft Store
Search for Football Manager 27 in Steam or Epic and use the free Launch Preview option on its store page. For the Xbox PC app, open the game’s Add-ons, select Football Manager 27 Launch Preview, install it and start from your Library. If using Xbox.com instead, choose the Launch Preview add-on there, select Get and finish the install in the PC app with the same Microsoft account.
If you’ve wishlisted FM27, you still need to install the preview. In the Xbox PC app, select Football Manager 27 Launch Preview under Add-ons, install it and start from your Library. The Game Pass guide explains which subscriptions qualify and when the console edition arrives.
How long is the Football Manager 27 Launch Preview available?
The free Football Manager 27 Launch Preview ends at 6 p.m. GMT on Tuesday, November 3. From that point, eligible PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate members, along with qualifying digital pre-purchasers, can continue in the early-access period ahead of the November 10 full release.
The pre-purchase offer gives 10% off at participating SEGA-approved digital retailers. Those buyers can continue the Launch Preview after 3 November, while eligible Game Pass subscribers can continue through their subscriptions. The promotion isn’t proof that every retailer or region offers the same price.
Does your Football Manager 27 Launch Preview save carry into the full game?
Yes. Sports Interactive explicitly says saves started during the free preview carry into the paid preview period and the full November 10 game. Your first season doesn’t have to end when the five free days do.
Save your career before the free window closes. When you’ve secured paid or subscription access to the same PC edition, you can resume it rather than starting a new season. Sports Interactive’s confirmation covers the PC preview and full release, not a transfer from PC to FM27 Console.
Is the Football Manager 27 Launch Preview coming to Xbox or PS5 consoles?
No. The free October 29 to November 3 preview is for PC and Mac. Game Pass access on a Windows PC does not make the same build playable on Xbox Series X|S, and the publisher hasn’t announced a console equivalent for this period.
FM27 Console launches on November 10 for Xbox Series X|S and PS5. The full PC game launches that day too, alongside the Mobile and Touch editions through their respective services. Our Game Pass date guide has the platform-by-platform breakdown.
What can you play in the Football Manager 27 Launch Preview?
Every game mode is available in the free preview. You can test the new interface, updated match engine, Tactical Tweaks, training controls and Shuffle Draft without having to buy the game first.
The free preview includes every game mode and has no time or career-progress limits during its five-day window. If your download isn’t appearing, check that you have the PC/Mac edition selected and that you’re inside the promotion window. The game build is near-final, but Sports Interactive warns that some club and player assets may still be awaiting licensing approval.
