Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026: Start Time, Rewards and How It Works

Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026

Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026 begins on October 13, 2026 at 5:00 PM BST and runs until November 3, bringing back the Halloween event with a major mechanical change: the old separate Void Realm is gone. Void Rifts now stay on the normal Trial map and can turn into teleportation portals instead.

That change matters more than it sounds. Returning players no longer need to leave the Trial for a separate dimension, while Survivors and Killers can both use the new portal network to reposition, escape or cut off a route. The event also adds new quests, Dark Trinkets and free cosmetics.

Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026: The Void Realm has been removed

Previous Haunted by Daylight events sent players into a separate Void Realm. That extra space is not part of the 2026 design.

Void Rifts still appear, but once opened they become Void Portals that move players across the existing Trial map rather than into a separate dimension.

Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026: How the new Void Portals change matches

For Survivors, a portal can create a fast escape route or help rotate toward a safer side of the map. For Killers, the same system can shorten travel and create new interception angles.

Because both sides can use the map-level system, a portal should be treated as part of chase routing rather than a Survivor-only safety button.

Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026: event quests and Dark Trinkets

Haunted by Daylight uses event quests instead of the old Tome structure. Completing those quests awards Dark Trinkets, the temporary Halloween currency used to unlock event cosmetics.

The current event information also lists a one-time 100 Dark Trinket login reward, which gives players a useful head start before they finish any quests.

The biggest quest rewards are new outfits for Shane Wiigwaas and The Hillbilly.

The free Halloween cosmetic pool also includes Survivor shirts and Killer masks for The Trapper, The Unknown and The Singularity, plus additional charms, badges and banners.

Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026: Which Survivor shirts are included?

Current October event coverage lists new Skeleton Shirts for Sable Ward and Jeff Johansen.

The official event wiki still had some Survivor-shirt slots marked as incomplete before launch, so the live event reward screen on October 13 should be treated as the final list if Behaviour changes any names or assignments.

Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026: How Dark Trinkets work

Dark Trinkets are earned from Haunted by Daylight event quests and spent on the seasonal cosmetic track.

They are event currency, not a permanent account resource, so there is little reason to hoard them past the end of the Halloween event once the rewards you want are available.

Dead by Daylight Haunted by Daylight 2026: Daily login rewards

Haunted by Daylight also uses daily login rewards through Messages from The Fog. Current event data lists Bloodpoints on ordinary days, with larger rewards on the first event day and Halloween itself.

Logging in is therefore worth doing even on a day when you do not have time to play a full Trial.

Void Crystal returns with a new use

The Void Crystal remains part of the event toolkit. In addition to creating a Fog Cloud, the 2026 version can be used as a stronger variant of the newer Fog Vial concept and can remotely repair a Generator it is placed on.

That gives Survivors another reason to engage with the event mechanics rather than treating Haunted by Daylight as a cosmetic-only playlist.

Best way to approach the event

  • Log in on October 13 to claim the opening rewards.
  • Open the Haunted by Daylight event mode and read the active quest list.
  • Use Void Portals as map movement rather than looking for the old Void Realm.
  • Complete event quests to build Dark Trinkets.
  • Spend Dark Trinkets on the limited cosmetics you care about first.
  • Finish the larger quest milestones for the Shane Wiigwaas and Hillbilly outfits.
  • Keep checking daily Messages from The Fog until the event ends on November 3.
