Stardeus 0.15 launched on October 29, 2026 with more than 1,500 changes, including Rogue AI research, Battle Stations, quests, diplomacy and a rebuilt interface. Kodo Linija followed with version 0.15.1 on October 30.

The biggest changes affect starting a new colony, fighting other ships and managing individual crew members. The old-save warning comes first, followed by the new mechanics and the October 30 hotfix.

Stardeus 0.15 launched on October 29, 2026, with the first hotfix, 0.15.1, arriving October 30. The main release contains more than 1,500 changes and affects nearly every major system.

Old 0.14 saves cannot load in the current build. To finish an existing campaign, choose v0_14_x through Steam Library, Stardeus, Properties, Game Versions & Betas. A 0.15 campaign needs a fresh start.

New Beginning and Tutorial

New Beginning is now the default scenario. It starts with a robot crew, guides players through tutorial quests and reveals menus gradually. The tutorial can be skipped, and Gradual UI Reveal can be unticked beside Embark.

Story events begin later and happen less often. Quick Start chooses a suitable difficulty, and Peaceful removes raids and heavy disasters. Skills are more specialised and progress to level 25.

Stardeus 0.15 Quest System and Endings

NPC ships and stations offer bounties, deliveries, scavenging, mining errands and a race for loot. Colonists can request personal quarters, help with pets or relationships, experiments and other favours.

Silence the Sentinel is a new alternative endgame quest. The Rogue AI research path has further endings, giving the colony routes beyond the original planet-terraforming conclusion.

Rogue AI, Trust and Mutinies

Stardeus 0.15 adds Rogue AI research including Beta Waves, Cortical Override, Signal Intrusion and Intrusion Suite. Asimov’s Override removes the AI’s ethical constraints, while Elysium can turn sleepers into power and biomass.

AI Alignment becomes Trust. Colonists judge how you treat them and their friends, and distrust can cause mutinies. Deeper Rogue AI research also increases raid strength.

Stardeus 0.15 Battle Stations and Flux

Battle Stations control several ship weapons of a matching type. Combat adds Flux Vents, expanded weapon capacity, upgraded guns and shields, and allies who can join battles. You can choose a side when encountering NPC ship combat.

Firing builds Soft Flux and shields taking hits build Hard Flux. Soft Flux vents automatically, while Hard Flux requires active venting. Too much Flux disables key systems, so Flux Vents and capacitors matter.

Ground Combat and Surgery

Ground combat now includes cover, suppression, stunning, fleeing and friendly fire. Missed bullets can hit other beings. New equipment includes SMGs, sniper rifles, nail guns, riot shields, vibroblades, stun batons, ion disruptors and new armour.

Surgery can fail and cause organ damage, infections or death. Repeated procedures cause Surgical Fatigue, which recovers over time. Sandbags give cheap cover for defending the crew.

Stardeus 0.15 Diplomacy and Stasis

Ship Computer > Apps > Diplomacy manages factions and alliances. Relations affect prices, raids, mining disputes and reinforcements. The new Job Matrix sets colonist work priorities from 1 to 5.

Stasis Arrays now show named sleepers in a Manifest. Unstable stasis can injure or kill them. Returning someone to stasis needs at least 90% stability or Asimov’s Override. Wake-ups can cause Cryo Sickness.

New UI, Mods and Ship Plans

Stardeus 0.15 brings six UI themes, including Legacy, plus Quick Search, Notification Hub, a new Codex and Airtightness and Insulation overlays. Ship Computer Apps brings together Production, Log, Situation, Policies, Paint and combat controls.

Ship plans can be saved as files and loaded into another campaign. Modding supports JSON schemas, dependency-aware patches and custom themes. Known incompatible mods are disabled automatically.

October 30 Update 0.15.1 Fixes

The 0.15.1 hotfix tackles frame drops when hovering interface buttons and links, outdated quest tracker text, freezes on some PCs with Discord installed, swapped Surgery view cards and oversized ship-combat status bars.

It also changes how long a colonist must spend in a windowless room before becoming unhappy, adds clearer planter warnings and lets you unbind one keyboard, mouse or controller input with a right-click.
