Witchbrook Spellcasting is tied to your progress at Witchbrook College. Chucklefish says that every completed exam entitles you to learn a spell from Professor Carlyle, your coven leader, who teaches new magic through individual lessons.

The route to new spells starts at college: learn the skills, finish assignments, gather enough merits to take an exam, then study with Professor Carlyle. Basic object-moving magic is available through a wand, but additional spells are earned through school progression.

Chucklefish’s June development blog lays out the steps. First, pay for classes and complete assignments. These give you the merits needed for exams. Next, prepare with your knowledge collection and sit the exam. When you complete it, Professor Carlyle offers one-on-one spell tuition.

That means the number of exams you finish directly affects Witchbrook Spellcasting progression. You can’t assume that collecting an ingredient or buying a wand immediately unlocks every spell; school achievements are part of learning more powerful magic.

Do you have magic as soon as you get a wand?

The developer says most witches can move objects instinctively once they obtain a wand. This makes basic object-moving magic useful before you’ve earned a long list of formal spells.

One confirmed use is the Telekinesis spell, demonstrated in the cottage decorating system. You can move furniture into position with your wand and arrange objects around the house instead of dragging everything manually.

For Witchbrook Spellcasting, this matters because some magical actions are immediately intuitive while others are learned during college progression. The exact moment you obtain a wand and the controller inputs for each spell haven’t been provided in an official complete walkthrough.

What Witchbrook spells have been confirmed?

Chucklefish mentions guidance spells that help track down rare ingredients, object-moving magic and magical travel. The game also features broom flight, with the official website depicting a broom licence and movement across Mossport.

The October trailer also shows magic being used around Mossport, including in ritual and exploration scenes. It isn’t a complete spell menu. For Witchbrook Spellcasting, the published examples are Telekinesis, ingredient-finding guidance and broom travel; a full unlock list requires the playable game.

How do Witchbrook classes and exams unlock spells?

Classes cost money and teach skills such as preparing teas, incense, salves, potions and working with divination or rituals. College assignments ask you to use those skills to help Mossport residents. Completing assignments earns college merits used for exam access.

Your knowledge collection records discoveries and additional information as you learn or repeatedly work with materials. Exam results depend on the relevant knowledge categories, and the developer says you need passing grades in the required exams to progress.

For Witchbrook Spellcasting, this creates a reason to study and take assignments seriously. Passing exams and advancing grades can open further spells, new classes and sometimes access to parts of Mossport that were previously too dangerous.

Coven study groups also provide mock exams. Chucklefish says they help you check your knowledge before the actual exam, although it hasn’t released exact question-and-answer sets for every magical subject.

Who teaches you spells in Witchbrook?

Professor Carlyle is the confirmed spell teacher. She leads your coven and offers private instruction when you’ve earned a spell through exam completion. Another professor, Professor Wixx, is connected to potion-making and the college’s other magical subjects.

For the complete merit and exam system, see our classes and exams guide. The core Witchbrook Spellcasting answer is simple: completing an exam earns a spell lesson with Professor Carlyle, not an automatically revealed spell from every class.

Can you cast spells outside the college?

Yes. Chucklefish describes magic being used across Mossport, including finding ingredients, travelling and moving furniture in your cottage. Your witch business can also offer magical goods and services to local residents.

The cottage renovation guide explains the confirmed Telekinesis furniture system, while gameplay after launch will establish the full range of spells used in exploration, crafting and daily tasks.

Witchbrook Spellcasting has two confirmed starting points: a wand for basic object movement and exam completion for additional spell lessons. After January 28, we can add the exact spell names and casting controls from the finished game rather than treating trailer footage as a walkthrough.
