Witchbrook Crossplay has not been confirmed by Chucklefish as of October 29, 2026. The game supports online co-op for up to four players and launches January 28, 2027 on PC, PS5, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

The question for groups buying different versions is whether those platforms can connect. Chucklefish has confirmed four-player online co-op, but hasn’t identified compatible platform combinations. Here’s what the official listings establish.

The current answer is not confirmed. Chucklefish’s website says you can play solo or invite up to three friends in online co-op. Its release announcement names the platforms, but neither statement promises Witchbrook Crossplay between different console manufacturers or Steam.

There’s no official compatibility chart yet. Don’t buy the PS5 edition expecting to join Xbox friends, or Switch 2 expecting to join Steam, until Chucklefish confirms those pairings.

Which Witchbrook versions support online multiplayer?

The publisher advertises online co-op as a feature of Witchbrook, while the Nintendo Switch 2 store lists one player on the same system and one to four online. The PlayStation Store similarly lists up to four online players, with PlayStation Plus required for online sessions.

The Witchbrook Crossplay question is separate from the player limit. There is an advertised online co-op mode, but mixed-platform groups still need compatibility confirmation. Our multiplayer guide covers the confirmed personal cottages and dating mechanics.

Does Witchbrook have cross-save or cross-progression?

Chucklefish has not confirmed cross-save or shared progression between platforms. These are different features. Crossplay is playing with friends on another platform, cross-save is transferring an existing save between devices, and cross-progression keeps progress linked across systems.

There is no official announcement of Steam-to-Switch save transfers, an Xbox-to-PS5 character move, or an account-linking service to keep the same cottage on every platform. Storefront cloud-save support only describes saves within the relevant ecosystem.

For Witchbrook Crossplay, wait for explicit developer confirmation before buying copies on different systems specifically to share one world. A common launch date tells you nothing about cross-platform progression.

Can two people play Witchbrook on one console?

A four-player co-op announcement does not confirm local split-screen. Chucklefish describes online co-op, not four controllers around one television. Nintendo’s listing says single system: one player and online: one to four.

There is currently no separate confirmation of local wireless co-op on Switch, split-screen on Xbox or couch co-op on PS5. Those features would need their own announcement, whatever happens with Witchbrook Crossplay.

Will Witchbrook need PS Plus, Switch Online or Game Pass?

The PlayStation Store requires PlayStation Plus for online play. Nintendo indicates a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for its online features. PC co-op has no published subscription requirement beyond access to the game.

Chucklefish confirms Xbox Game Pass on January 28. That’s a subscription access option, not proof of cross-platform matchmaking or of the online benefits included with every Xbox membership tier.

Do multiplayer friends each get their own cottage?

Yes. In the August 2026 Building a Home developer blog, Chucklefish says online sessions expand the player land and unlock separate, slightly smaller cottages for friends. Each can decorate a personal space and garden, including while others are playing.

The developer also confirms that each friend can pursue a romantic covenmate. In some cases, two players can become interested in the same character before one goes steady. These are genuine shared-world details, not evidence of cross-platform matchmaking.

When will Witchbrook Crossplay be confirmed?

The developer hasn’t given a date for further networking details. The confirmed launch is January 28, 2027, and the final storefront listings or a later FAQ may clarify cross-platform connections before then.

Witchbrook Crossplay is still an unanswered purchasing question. You can plan a solo game or four-player online co-op now, but don’t assume mixed-platform friends can play together, carry saves between devices or use split-screen until Chucklefish verifies those exact features.
