Witchbrook Physical Edition is official, with both a Standard Edition and a Collector’s Edition planned for after the January 28, 2027 digital launch. Chucklefish confirmed both formats in its October 27 release announcement, but it hasn’t given either a boxed release date.
Collectors will have a boxed option, just not on launch day. Here’s the confirmed timing, what distinguishes the two announced edition names, and why retailer pre-order dates need a publisher announcement first.
When is the Witchbrook Physical Edition coming out?
Chucklefish says the physical editions will arrive a little while after the digital release. The developer separated them deliberately so manufacturing and collector packaging wouldn’t hold up the game. January 28 is the date for PC and console digital downloads, not a confirmed box shipment.
The Witchbrook Physical Edition has no specified release month, either. There is a promise of a later formal announcement, so a shop’s estimated date should not be treated as settled until Chucklefish names it.
Witchbrook Collector’s Edition: What comes in the box?
The Collector’s Edition has been announced but not revealed. Chucklefish has not confirmed a soundtrack, art book, character figurine, plush, special box, steelbook, extra in-game items or any other particular collectible.
Chucklefish hasn’t shown the Standard and Collector’s contents side by side. The Witchbrook Physical Edition announcement confirms two planned products, not which extras will be included.
Is Witchbrook getting PS5, Switch 2 and Xbox physical copies?
The digital game launches on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. However, Chucklefish says the platforms for physical editions will be announced later.
That means no Switch 2 cartridge or game card, PS5 disc, Switch 1 box or Xbox disc can currently be guaranteed. Likewise, there is no confirmed physical-to-digital upgrade path, or free upgrade from a Switch physical copy to Switch 2.
The Witchbrook Physical Edition could be announced for some or all of the digital platforms, but neither option is official yet. Our release-date and platforms guide covers the confirmed digital lineup.
How much does Witchbrook cost physically?
There is no confirmed retail price for a physical Witchbrook Standard Edition or Collector’s Edition. The only stated launch price is $24.99 for the digital game in the US. Chucklefish says further regional prices will come nearer launch.
The UK price is still unknown, including for the digital edition. Don’t use a straight dollar-to-pound conversion as the advertised UK price. The Witchbrook Physical Edition also involves manufacturing and packaging, which could affect its retail price.
When can you pre-order the physical and Collector’s Editions?
Chucklefish has not announced the pre-order date, participating shops or any limited collector allocations. A digital wishlist page is not a physical reservation. If you encounter an early retailer listing, check whether Chucklefish has confirmed the stock and contents.
The promised future reveal is the point at which to check edition contents, regional availability and price. Until then, the Witchbrook Physical Edition remains an announced plan rather than a product with an official order page.
Should you wait for a physical copy or buy digital?
Players who want to start Witchbrook on January 28 can choose the confirmed digital release. It offers school life in Mossport, magical lessons, romance and up to four players online. Xbox Game Pass availability on launch day has also been announced.
If the physical package is the main reason you’re buying, waiting is reasonable, but you cannot yet plan an exact delivery date. Purchasing digital first hasn’t been announced as a way to receive a discounted Collector’s Edition later.
If you want to play on January 28, digital is confirmed. If you want the Witchbrook Physical Edition, wait for Chucklefish’s dedicated reveal before choosing a store or paying a deposit. The publisher hasn’t given a delivery date.
