Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores will be awarded through weapon acquisition achievements from 10 November 2026. If you already own an eligible Archboss weapon, NC says the game will recognise that ownership and register the corresponding Core automatically.
The change also affects Archboss-family Cores you already have. Those Cores will be reclaimed, but their associated original equipment will be sent through in-game Mail. The returned equipment is untradeable, so it’s worth checking exactly what you own before the update.
Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores: November 10 changes explained
The old Archboss Skill Core crafting recipes are being retired. Rather than making the relevant Core through a recipe, you’ll receive its registration through the acquisition achievement for an applicable weapon. The new system keeps registered Cores in character slots, separate from equipment engraving.
The Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores change is scheduled for 10 November. October’s Update 4.18.0 announced it but did not activate the new Core slots or achievement system. Don’t expect the new menus until the service transition has finished.

What happens to existing Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores?
If you have an Archboss-family Core, NC says it will reclaim that Core and send the associated original equipment item by Mail. That returned equipment cannot be traded. It isn’t the same as simply moving an engraved Core from one weapon to another.
The Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores transfer treats the old Core and its associated equipment separately. What matters after maintenance is whether your original item arrives and whether the relevant acquisition achievement and registered Core appear on your character.
How do Archboss cores differ from Heroic engraved cores?
| Old item | Scheduled conversion |
|---|---|
| Core engraved on ordinary Heroic equipment | Core removed and returned by in-game Mail |
| Archboss-family Skill Core | Core reclaimed and original associated equipment delivered through Mail |
| Applicable Archboss weapon already owned | Relevant acquisition achievement and Core registration recognised automatically |
| Equipment returned from Archboss conversion | Untradeable |
The table separates the two kinds of conversion. Ordinary Heroic engraved Cores are returned by Mail. Archboss-family Cores are reclaimed, with their associated original equipment mailed instead. NC explicitly says equipment delivered through this process is untradeable.
Do you need to earn the achievement again?
If you already own an applicable Archboss weapon, you won’t need to earn its acquisition achievement a second time. The game will treat it as already claimed and update your Core registration. The same rule covers applicable weapons received through the conversion.
NC hasn’t released a complete eligibility list in the advance notes. The wording is applicable Archboss weapons, not every weapon carrying an Archboss name. Check the achievement and Core registration for your own weapon after the rollout.
How will you equip Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores after the update?
Once the update is live, go to Skills > Skill Cores to manage registered Cores. You can equip or remove them without a fee and save combinations as presets, instead of engraving equipment every time you change a build.
A registered Core still needs a matching Heroic weapon equipped to take effect. If it appears in your collection but isn’t working, check the weapon category. Our Skill Core rework guide explains the new slots and presets.
How to check your Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores conversion after maintenance
After maintenance, check Mail for the equipment or Cores returned to your character. Then open the Skill Core menu and look at the relevant weapon acquisition achievements. Compare those results with the Archboss items you had before the change.
Remember that returned equipment will be untradeable. The developer hasn’t announced an exact delivery hour or an expiry deadline for these messages, so don’t assume the Mail has to arrive at a particular minute.
The Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores conversion is separate from compensation for unused Imprint and Extraction Scrolls. Those scrolls turn into Sollant and, in the Extraction version, materials. See our scroll compensation guide for the per-item amounts.
Can you still craft Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores?
The old recipes involving Archboss Cores will be removed. There is no announced method to craft unlimited replacement Cores through the new achievements. Check a recipe’s actual availability after maintenance rather than relying on an older crafting guide.
For the Throne and Liberty Archboss Skill Cores change, the checks that matter are straightforward: note your qualifying weapons, look for returned equipment in Mail, then confirm the matching achievements and Core registration. If the new system hasn’t launched yet, those checks need to wait until the November 10 rollout is complete.
