Sims 4 Reborn Sim missing from the household after Rebirth is a Life & Death bug that EA addressed on October 27, 2026. EA confirmed that newly reborn Infant Sims could fail to appear in the chosen existing household or in Create a Sim for customisation. The patch is intended to let them complete the Rebirth process properly.
If you selected a household for your Sim’s next life and the infant never appeared, EA’s fix is aimed at precisely that problem. Here’s what the game should do now, how to test without risking your legacy save and what to try if the first Rebirth failed before the update.
Why is a Sims 4 Reborn Sim missing from the household?

The issue belongs to Life & Death, not an ordinary base-game household transfer. At the end of the Rebirth sequence, the game should add the newly reborn Infant to the existing household you selected, including making that child available in Create a Sim for customisation. EA fixed a case where neither part happened.
A Sims 4 Reborn Sim who never appears during the Rebirth sequence isn’t the same as a family member moving out. Check the household you chose rather than assuming the infant has been sent somewhere else.
How to test the Sims 4 Reborn Sim fix
- Install The Sims 4’s October 27 update and make sure Life & Death is enabled.
- Back up your current save before trying Rebirth again.
- From a suitable save point, complete your Sim’s Rebirth choice and select the intended existing household.
- Watch for the newly reborn Infant to appear in Create a Sim for customisation.
- Complete the on-screen steps and check the selected household for the infant.
- If the infant still fails to appear, leave the original save untouched while you test.
The patch repairs the Rebirth creation and household step. EA hasn’t said an infant who disappeared before updating will be reconstructed automatically when you load that save. Trying again from an earlier, safe save point may be necessary if the original sequence was interrupted.
Can an earlier save recover the Sims 4 Reborn Sim?
If you saved before selecting Rebirth, try that copy after updating. In Load Game, you can also inspect any available Recover Save points. Those are earlier versions of a save, so using one can undo progress after its timestamp. Make a separate backup before restoring anything.
Without an earlier save or recovery point, there’s no confirmed one-click way to restore an infant lost during the old Rebirth bug. Avoid deleting household members or editing unrelated relationships in an attempt to force them to reappear. Test a new Rebirth sequence only in a separate save first.
How Sims 4 Reborn Sim Rebirth works in Life & Death

Life & Death adds Soul’s Journey, where Sims progress through Bucket List goals and potentially Unfinished Business. Reaching the relevant Soul’s Journey milestone can unlock Rebirth, allowing that Sim’s story to continue in a new life. The feature belongs to that expansion rather than being a universal Sims 4 household option.
The Sims 4 Reborn Sim fix concerns the point at which Rebirth places an Infant in the family you chose. It does not change how Soul’s Journey is earned. If the Rebirth interaction itself is unavailable, check your Sim’s progress and pack ownership, not just the household-addition repair.
What if a Sims 4 Reborn Sim is still missing after October 27?
First confirm the patch installed. Then see whether the same failure occurs in a clean test save with Life & Death enabled. On PC and Mac, mods that alter family relationships, occult states, pregnancy, Create a Sim or household management could affect the sequence. Back up Saves and Mods, then test without them in a separate save rather than overwriting your legacy household.
If the Sims 4 Reborn Sim is still missing in an updated, unmodded test, note whether Create a Sim opened, which household you selected and exactly when the process failed. Include those steps, the game version and any installed packs in your EA bug report.
Did the October 27 update fix the Sims 4 Reborn Sim issue?
Yes. EA explicitly says it fixed an instance where the newly reborn Infant wasn’t added to the selected existing household or shown in Create a Sim. The fix is specific to Life & Death. It does not guarantee recovery for every already-corrupted save, and it doesn’t make Rebirth an option for players who don’t own the expansion.
For a Sims 4 Reborn Sim lost before October 27, preserve the original save and attempt Rebirth again from an earlier backup when one is available. If the new Infant appears in Create a Sim and joins the chosen family, the bug EA identified is no longer blocking the process.
