Sims 4 Move Objects builds could cause an endless loading screen when placed from the Gallery. EA fixed this problem in The Sims 4 October 27, 2026 update by strengthening the navigation mesh the game uses for Sim routing. The issue was linked to lots built with extensive use of the Move Objects cheat, especially when a complicated arrangement had to be processed during placement.
If placing a Gallery house leaves you staring at a loading spinner, this is the fix to check first. A blank white screen when opening a save is a different bug, even though both were addressed in the same update. Here’s how to test the original lot without risking your household.
What caused Sims 4 Move Objects infinite loading?

The bb.moveobjects cheat lets builders place objects more freely, sometimes overlapping items or creating densely decorated areas. EA traced one Gallery lot-placement freeze to heavy Move Objects use and the routing navigation mesh. The mesh is what tells Sims where they can walk, so the game could struggle when processing especially complex layouts.
EA made the navigation mesh more robust. The Sims 4 Move Objects cheat hasn’t been removed, and not every build with overlapping furniture was affected. The fix is for a specific infinite-loading condition during Gallery placement; the cheat remains available for building.
How to fix Sims 4 Move Objects infinite loading after October 27
- Make a separate backup of your save and any important lots before testing.
- Install The Sims 4’s October 27 update and restart the game.
- Open a copy of the affected save, or create a disposable test save.
- Try placing the same Gallery lot that previously caused the loading spinner.
- If it loads, inspect the furniture, walls, stairs and doorways before saving.
- If it still freezes, test a simpler Gallery lot to see whether the issue affects that specific build or lot placement generally.
If you previously had to force-close the game while placing a Sims 4 Move Objects build, test it in a copied save after updating. That way, a second freeze won’t put your main household at risk. If placement succeeds, make sure the lot still looks right and Sims can reach important objects.
Should you turn off Sims 4 Move Objects to place Gallery lots?
You don’t need to disable Move Objects globally to apply EA’s fix. The problem involved how the game processed some heavily decorated builds, not the mere existence of the cheat. A Gallery lot may have been constructed with Move Objects and still be fine to use after the patch.
If one lot fails but others load normally, check its creator’s pack requirements and any special placement instructions. Try placing it on an appropriate-sized empty lot in a test save. Do not permanently remove furniture from your main build just to see whether the loading screen finishes. Keep the original lot untouched until you’ve identified the issue.
What if Sims 4 Move Objects loading still freezes?

Work out whether it’s the particular Gallery lot or the entire save. Can you load the world normally before placing the build? Can you place an ordinary base-game house on the same lot? If both work but one heavily decorated Gallery build freezes, note that lot’s name, lot size and installed packs before reporting it.
On PC or Mac, outdated build, UI or object mods may contribute to loading problems. Back up Saves, Tray and Mods, then test in a disposable mod-free save. If custom build items are missing when you load without mods, don’t save over your main home. Our clean testing guide covers the process.
If Sims 4 Move Objects lot placement still freezes without mods after updating, it doesn’t necessarily mean EA’s repair failed. EA addressed one known cause, but different routing failures, corrupt lots or asset problems can look similar. Include a Gallery lot identifier and reproduction steps in an EA bug report so the developers can examine that exact case.
Is Sims 4 Move Objects related to the white screen rental bug?
No. EA’s October notes identify a separate problem that made worlds with some Residential Rental saves load into a white screen. That fix may let affected players return to their world, although a few lot details might need rebuilding. The Sims 4 Move Objects problem instead concerns an endless spinner immediately after placing a heavily decorated Gallery lot.
Our white screen guide covers both issues and explains how to recover affected saves. This article focuses on the specific Gallery placement path, where trying the updated lot in a separate save helps isolate the problem without losing an elaborate build.
If the problematic Gallery lot now loads, check that its doors, stairs and furniture still work before keeping it in your main save. If it freezes again, compare it with a simple lot and include the Gallery listing and exact failure point in a bug report.
