Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026 runs from Friday, October 16 to Monday, October 19, bringing back Reaper Fortress Mega Stashes. Rare has confirmed bonus Doubloons for completing one Reaper Fortress during the event, even if its vault doesn’t contain a Mega Stash. There’s also a chance of an extraordinary treasure haul, including Chests of Fortune.
This is the mid-October Bilge Rats event, not the Community Weekend scheduled for October 23–26. It comes with limited-time Smuggler Voyages, Firework Displays and a challenge checklist. If you’re sailing specifically for the fortress bonus, the good news is that the Doubloon reward doesn’t depend on finding a rare vault.

Rare’s live Events Hub shows a 10:00 AM start and finish. Use that hub or the in-game Events menu for the timer relevant to your region rather than assuming those displayed hours are local UK time. The Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026 rewards apply during the limited weekend, so getting your fortress completion after the event closes isn’t equivalent.
Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026: How to earn the Reaper Fortress Doubloons
- Enter Sea of Thieves during October 16–19 and look at the active Bilge Rats Weekender Challenges.
- Prepare your crew with food, cannonballs, planks and enough space to carry loot.
- Locate an active Reaper Fortress world event and sail towards it.
- Defeat the Dark Brethren Phantoms and Flameheart’s skeletons through the waves until the fortress is completed.
- Open and inspect the vault if the event gives you access to its treasure.
- Check the Bilge Rats event challenge progress for the completion reward, then claim any available Doubloons through the event interface if prompted.
For the Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026, Rare specifically says completing just one Reaper Fortress during the event earns Doubloons, whether or not the vault has a Mega Stash. That is the key reward requirement. The official October overview doesn’t specify the precise number of Doubloons for that challenge, so this guide isn’t assigning an invented amount.
Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026: What are Reaper Fortress Mega Stashes?
Mega Stashes are unusually valuable fortress vault hauls. When you battle your way through a Reaper Fortress during the Bilge Rats event, you may unlock a vault packed with extra treasure instead of an ordinary selection. Rare describes Mega Stashes as a possibility, not a guaranteed outcome.
A Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026 Mega Stash can include Chests of Fortune for particularly lucky crews. Rare hasn’t released a probability table for a Mega Stash vault or a fixed number of Chests of Fortune. One player finding a chest on the first run doesn’t imply the same result for everyone else.
Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026: Reaper Fortress enemies and how to prepare
The featured fortress is defended by waves of Dark Brethren Phantoms and Flameheart’s skeletons. Expect a fight that can drain ammunition, food and time. Keep your ship repaired and watch the horizon: an active fortress and the prospect of a very valuable vault can attract other crews.
The Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026 is most comfortable with a crew that shares jobs: someone manages threats around the ship while the others clear the enemies. You can still attempt it in a smaller crew, but taking extra healing and keeping a retreat route open will matter if another ship interrupts the fight.
Bilge Rats Weekender Smuggler Voyages and fireworks
Rare also confirms event-exclusive Smuggler Voyages and Firework Displays. These are separate ways to take part in the Weekender rather than alternate proof you’ve completed a Reaper Fortress. The activity list is expected to be visible in the game’s Events or Bilge Rats pages while the weekend is live.
For ${kw}, don’t assume a particular island destination, fireworks colour or Voyage objective until you can read the event’s live checklist. Rare’s October announcement confirms these activities exist but doesn’t publish a step-by-step itinerary or exact reward per objective.
All confirmed Weekender reward types
| Activity | Reward or opportunity | Guaranteed? |
|---|---|---|
| Complete one Reaper Fortress | Doubloons | Yes, during the event |
| Complete additional event Challenges | Doubloons | Challenge-dependent; amounts unlisted |
| Reaper Fortress Mega Stash vault | Additional valuable treasure | No, chance-based |
| Special Mega Stash haul | Chance at Chests of Fortune | No |
| Smuggler Voyages and Firework Displays | Event activities tied to the challenge checklist | Specific rewards must be checked in-game |
The Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026 provides more than one route to Doubloons, but the official overview doesn’t list individual challenge values or a chest drop rate. The separate Community Weekend flag, Pocket Pumpkin Emote and Twitch Drops aren’t being advertised as Bilge Rats Weekender prizes.
Does every Reaper Fortress contain a Mega Stash?
No. Rare says finishing a fortress may reveal a Mega Stash and that only particularly lucky pirates may find Chests of Fortune. If you clear the fortress and its vault has ordinary treasure, your event completion is still worthwhile because that alone fulfils the confirmed Doubloon challenge.
If you’re deciding between another fortress and doing the Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026 Smuggler Voyages, finish at least one fortress first for the confirmed challenge. After that, inspect the active event list to see which remaining objectives are worth your time. Don’t buy supplies on the assumption that one more run guarantees a Chest of Fortune.
Bilge Rats Weekender versus Community Weekend
Bilge Rats Weekender runs October 16–19; Community Weekend is October 23–26, followed by Festival of the Damned. Those are three different parts of Rare’s October event calendar. Completing a Bilge Rats fortress doesn’t automatically grant October Community Weekend cosmetics, and Community Weekend Twitch viewing won’t substitute for the fortress challenge.
For Sea of Thieves Bilge Rats Weekender October 2026, the short version is simple: finish one Reaper Fortress for the confirmed Doubloons, take a chance on a Mega Stash, and use the in-game challenge panel for any additional Voyage and Firework Display tasks.
