Rainbow Six Siege Noor Horus Lance buff makes the launcher quicker to draw, reduces drilling time to 1.5 seconds and strengthens its counter against ballistic shields. Ubisoft also raised damage on a direct hit from 50 to 80 in the Y11S3.2 update.
The mid-season patch arrived on October 15. For Noor players, the biggest difference is how quickly Horus Lance can be brought out and used against a defender holding a shield. Here are the exact changes, followed by the situations in which each one matters.
Rainbow Six Siege Noor Horus Lance buff: all numbers

| Horus Lance property | Before | After Y11S3.2 |
|---|---|---|
| Drilling into ballistic shields, soft and solid non-destructible surfaces | 2 seconds | 1.5 seconds |
| Guard-break strength on ballistic shield projectile impact | 30% | 100% |
| Equip time | 0.9 seconds | 0.4 seconds, quickdraw animation |
| Operator direct-impact damage | 50 | 80 |
| Shield Operator during projectile removal | Previously not damaged | Can now take damage |
| Projectile hitbox | Prior detection | Improved accuracy and consistency |
The 100% figure refers to guard-break strength when the projectile strikes a ballistic shield. It isn’t a damage percentage. Direct-impact damage has its own value of 80, shown separately above.
Rainbow Six Siege Noor Horus Lance buff: drill and equip times
Horus Lance now drills into ballistic shields, soft surfaces and solid non-destructible surfaces in 1.5 seconds instead of 2. That shaves half a second off the drilling stage. The effect applies to all three listed surfaces, not only walls that can be destroyed.
The Rainbow Six Siege Noor Horus Lance buff also reduces the equip animation from 0.9 to 0.4 seconds. That gives Noor a quicker way to bring out Horus Lance after spotting a shield or a surface worth drilling.
Rainbow Six Siege Noor Horus Lance buff: shield guard break
The old Horus Lance applied 30% guard-break strength on a direct projectile impact against a ballistic shield. Y11S3.2 raises that to 100%, making the impact much more disruptive. The target still needs to be struck by the projectile for that specific interaction.
Aim for an actual shield impact if you want the upgraded guard break. Striking a nearby wall isn’t the same interaction. The stronger guard break gives Noor an opening, but you still have to act on it.
Does Horus Lance deal 80 damage on impact?
Yes, on direct impact against an Operator. The old value was 50, so the new 80-damage hit is an increase of 30. It applies to the projectile striking an Operator, not every possible effect of the launcher.
The Rainbow Six Siege Noor Horus Lance buff also lets the projectile damage a ballistic shield Operator during its removal animation. Previously, that interaction could leave Noor without damage at that point of the animation.
How did the Horus Lance hitbox change?
Ubisoft adjusted the projectile hitbox for more consistent hits and fixed an issue in which the hitbox had become too large. The patch also corrects the launcher reticle ignoring the Reticle Opacity option in the game settings.
The hitbox fix matters for players accustomed to the older projectile detection. The best comparison is to test direct impacts after the update rather than expect the pre-patch hitbox to behave the same way.
Rainbow Six Siege Noor Horus Lance buff: best practical uses
Against a shield, prioritise a clean projectile hit to trigger the stronger guard break. Against a surface, plan your follow-up around the 1.5-second drill instead of the old two-second window. The reduced equip delay helps when you need to make that choice quickly.
Those timings make Horus Lance easier to deploy at the moment you need it. A shield break is most useful when Noor or a teammate is ready to follow up, so position yourself before committing to the shot.
Is the buff available outside Doktor’s Curse?
Yes. This is a regular Y11S3.2 balancing change, not a Doktor’s Curse event reward. For everything else in the update, read our full Y11S3.2 patch notes and Ranked maps guide.
