Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Rental Decks are available now, with six temporary battle decks introduced alongside the C1 expansion. They arrived in the UK on 29 October 2026 at 1 AM GMT and remain available until 16 December at 1:59 AM GMT. All six can be used repeatedly, including in versus battles.

This is a much more useful system for trying new cards than the older limited-use rentals. You can get a feel for Mega Mewtwo X ex or Mega Greninja ex in action without collecting an entire deck first. The borrowed cards do not automatically become part of your permanent collection.

When did Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Rental Decks become available?

The decks launched with Dual Fusion at 6 PM PDT on 28 October, equivalent to 1 AM GMT on 29 October in the UK. The Pokémon Company confirms that six rentals are offered for the current release, with a new selection taking over at the next booster launch.

Under the new C-series rules, rentals become available alongside a booster pack. You can explore the Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Rental Decks while deciding which cards you want to collect, rather than working towards a particular rental unlock as a separate reward.

How to choose and play a rental deck

Open Pokémon TCG Pocket and enter a battle’s deck selection screen. Browse the rental choices, select a deck and review its cards before confirming your match. Check its attack costs and supporting Pokémon, especially when trying one of the new dual-type cards for the first time.

The new rental system removes the old match-use limit. You can play the Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Rental Decks as often as you like during their availability period, and the producer letter specifically confirms versus battle support. Repeating a match with the same deck is a good way to learn how its cards work together.

Special battle events can have their own deck-building conditions. If a rental is unavailable in a limited format, read that event’s rules and select an eligible deck. Those restrictions are separate from the general change allowing rentals in versus battles.

Which six decks are included?

The official launch announcement highlights two of the six: a Mega Mewtwo X ex deck using the Psychic/Fighting dual-type Pokémon and a Mega Greninja ex deck featuring its Water/Darkness dual type. Those are the headline choices for players wanting to try the expansion’s newest mechanics.

To see the other four decks and their complete card lists, open the current in-game rental selection. The English announcement names the two highlighted Pokémon, not every individual card in all six lists. Checking the actual deck preview also lets you make a better decision about Energy requirements and Trainer support.

Our Dual Fusion guide covers the expansion’s dual types and release. This article stays focused on the rental decks and how to use them.

When do Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Rental Decks expire?

15 December 2026 at 5:59 PM PST is the official cut-off. In Britain, that converts to 16 December at 1:59 AM GMT. The change in calendar date is simply the time-zone difference: Pacific Standard Time is eight hours behind GMT in December.

The Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Rental Decks will be replaced by the next booster release’s rental selection. Unlimited uses only apply while the current decks are available. You can practise with them before the deadline, but the set of rentals rotates rather than staying available indefinitely.

Are rentals the same as the free Rayquaza deck?

No. Pokémon is also delivering a Mega Rayquaza ex elite deck through Gifts. That is a separate Dragon-type present featuring Mega Rayquaza ex, Dragonair and Gouging Fire. It is not one of the six rotating rentals and has its own gift claim route.

Open the Gifts section to check for the elite deck, and use your battle deck selector to find the Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Rental Decks. Our Mega Rayquaza ex gift guide explains that separate offer.

What if Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Rental Decks are missing?

Update Pokémon TCG Pocket from the app store, restart the game and reopen the deck selector from a battle. Confirm that you are looking at the C1 selection rather than older B-series rentals. The launch has already happened, so you do not need to wait for another release hour.

If a particular event blocks the rental you chose, check its eligibility rules before assuming the decks are gone. For general battles, the Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Rental Decks remain available throughout the announced rotation window. The separate rental decks guide explains the permanent features of this system.
