Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion is out now, bringing dual-type Pokémon cards, six temporary rental decks and a free Dragon-type elite deck. The expansion arrived worldwide on 28 October 2026 at 6 PM PDT, which was 1 AM GMT on 29 October in the UK. Its headline cards are Mega Mewtwo X ex and Mega Greninja ex.
There is plenty to explore without collecting every new card first. You can try the expansion’s rental decks in battles, claim the Mega Rayquaza ex elite deck through Gifts and look out for Mega Greninja card covers and backdrops from 31 October. Here is what was announced, what you can use now and which dates matter.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion UK release date and time

The launch happened on Thursday 29 October at 1 AM GMT for UK players, corresponding to Wednesday 28 October at 6 PM PDT. The UK had already switched back from British Summer Time on 25 October, so 1 AM GMT is the correct conversion. Open Pokémon TCG Pocket, check the booster selection and choose a Dual Fusion pack to start collecting C-series cards.
If you are returning after a break, make sure the app is updated before looking for the new packs. Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion begins the next series of releases, with a longer time between main booster launches. The producer letter describes a move from an approximately four-week cycle to one of roughly six weeks.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion cards and dual types explained
Two new dual-type Pokémon headline the expansion: Mega Mewtwo X ex has Psychic and Fighting types, while Mega Greninja ex has Water and Darkness types. Rather than switching between two separate cards, each Pokémon displays both types on a single card. That gives players fresh options when building decks around type-based effects.
The card’s printed attacks, Energy costs and Weakness still matter. Do not assume that having two types means paying two kinds of Energy, receiving two Weaknesses or gaining an automatic advantage against every opposing type. Read the individual card and its in-game description before deciding how it fits your deck.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion also gives collectors a new card chase, but the most useful place to check the exact card pool is the in-game card list and pack offering rates. Look at the specific booster you plan to open, rather than assuming every card can appear in every pack. That is especially useful before you spend saved Pack Hourglasses.
How the six Dual Fusion rental decks work
The Pokémon Company introduced six rental decks with this release, including decks built around Mega Mewtwo X ex and Mega Greninja ex. Under the new system, rentals are available from the arrival of a booster release, can be used an unlimited number of times and are available for versus battles. They are a way to test cards and strategies before building a collection around them.
The current Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion rentals run until 15 December 2026 at 5:59 PM PST. In Britain, that deadline is 1:59 AM GMT on 16 December. When the next booster pack launches, a new selection of rental decks replaces the previous set. Rentals are not the same as permanently adding every card in their lists to your collection.
For the exact six current decks and details on choosing a rental, see our Dual Fusion rental deck guide. Our separate rental deck explainer covers how the broader system works.
How to claim the free Mega Rayquaza ex elite deck
A Dragon-type elite deck is also being delivered through the in-game Gifts area. It features Mega Rayquaza ex and Dragonair, both previously seen in Ruler of the Skies, alongside Gouging Fire from Paradox Drive. Mega Rayquaza ex’s Mega Burst attack is one of the deck’s main attractions.
To check for your gift, open the game, go to Gifts and look for the elite deck delivery. Claim it there and review the available deck details in your collection. Unlike a Dual Fusion rental, this is presented as a separate free gift, so do not confuse its delivery with selecting one of the six temporary rentals. Our Mega Rayquaza ex elite deck guide covers the claim in more detail.
Mega Greninja cosmetics and upcoming C-series features
Saturday 31 October is the announced start date for Mega Greninja-themed card covers and backdrops. Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion is also accompanied by anniversary and collection events, including a second-anniversary ticket campaign and returning promotional cards. Check the event calendar inside the game for the current missions and their claim windows.
Pokémon’s Japanese launch announcement also includes Community Decks, allowing players to view popular and friends’ deck lists, then copy them with cards they own. Missing cards remain greyed out until collected. New limited-format battles are scheduled as part of the C-series event programme, while the wider update also changes trading and sharing tools.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion not appearing in your game
Start by checking that you are selecting the new C-series booster rather than an older pack. Update Pokémon TCG Pocket through your device’s app store, close and reopen the game, and check the pack menu again. For rental decks, look in the battle deck selection area instead of your owned-card collection. If an elite deck gift has not appeared, check Gifts separately from the rental selection.
Now that Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion has launched, the next dates worth remembering are the 31 October cosmetic additions and the December rental deck changeover. Keep an eye on the official event notices in-game for the missions that run between those dates.
